Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

Well it's the actual amount and goes on the book and if she makes money in prison they will send small amounts of restitution to Kay and when he gets his in, probably Brandon too. It's basically a judgment on the record. There is a victim compensation fund and the way it is here is if that pays the victim, the offender has to pay back the fund, notsure if it works that way there. It was said nothing to date has been paid from that fund to Kay, etc.

This isn't unusual, it happens in many or maybe even most cases, even if the amount seems ridiculous.

I received restitution once as a victim from the offender. It came in small amounts here and there.

I do wonder what would happen if she inherited money? Can they make them pay from it or would it have to be brought to court to get it ordered? Probably the latter.
I'm not sure if we have victim comp here. We probably do but it would be enforcable in the courts. I don't think the prisons get involved in payment of prison wages to victims, for example.

Well someone or some agency has to turn it into a check. When I received restitution it was a check and not a personal one. If find it hard to believe the offender was paying by choice but he could have been I guess. Unfortunately I don't recall who cut the check, if it was the prison or what entity.

OF course Kay and Brandon will probably never see enough to pay them in full. It's the principle of the thing I guess and it also ensures I would say that their credit is ruined as there are judgments.

It is a normal part of a case.

Colby and others could have applied to I am sure. I know he had mileage and a hotel room at times. He apparently did not nor did anyone else.

Is anyone suing Chad for restitution?
Not that I ever heard of, maybe no one asked for a restitution hearing which would be prosecutors or maybe it is because he is on death row, not sure that that would matter though. He probably could not work in the prison... Different states too or maybe the vic compensation fund paid out, hard to say.

Just realized I don't think Lori had one in ID either, only in AZ and Chad was not charged in those cases. So it probably has something to do with ID or the prosecutors not bringing it up.

Although this says Kohberger, 90 percent of it is Kay Woodcock. It is a good interview, different than others as it is about restitution and other things now that the trials are over.

Some things I never knew. Any commissary money prisoners get, a percentage is taken from it for restitution (also for fines, etc.). I love that, I wish it were more--ID is 20 percent and AZ Kay thinks is 30 percent. It's not like it will be more than peanuts to victim families BUT it makes it harder for the prisoner and they probably don't like it one bit.
Something that maddens me is that Kay found out the ID prison has a HAIR salon!! That's just NOT right. It's outrageous. As she said, who do they need to look good for?!

So Lori's locks to me were poorly bleached and styled in my opinion while in jail but now she will have access to a salon in prison.

I'm not sure about Idaho specifically, but most states have pretty limited hair services. If it's okay for men's prisons to offer barber services, it should be the same for women. I'm not sure prison stylists can stock chemicals.

I think you didn't think this through lol.

If it's for cuts, etc. they want, I don't think the men's should have them either. If it's just for shaving it off, I see that differently than a woman getting a color and a curl, etc.

Yeah, I don't know what they carry but if it is secured say in a different part of the prison and the salon is as well, I think it possible. I mean they have kitchens and wood shops and such too.

It was Kay who said it, she didn't have a lot of detail, just that she knew they had such and that Lori would be getting better hair styling now and that she felt it wrong.

I also saw on Pretty Lies and Alibis (she looks up the prison info, etc.) that they can get what is takeout/delivery for food. Supposedly it can take weeks after ordering but still, they can if they can pay for it. I think that's wrong too.

I stand corrected. Inmates can buy hair dye from the commissary. I did not know that. That info from an interview with the warden at Pocatello.

I'm not surprised. They can buy makeup as well. As you said though, hair dye has chemicals.

It was from Nate's Pocatello tour and interview. I thought it had been linked previously. I'll see if I can find it.

Found.

I thought I watched that. I don't recall the hair salon, I feel I only heard of that in Kay's recent interview with Brian Entin when she talked of it. Not sure where she got her info though.
