Jessica moved to Goldsboro shortly before Christmas 2011. A roommate reported that he last saw her at the end of January 2012. A coworker reported she last saw her on January 25, 2012. She has not accessed her social networking pages since early January 2012.

Garino was last seen at the Carolina Treatment Center, an outpatient drug treatment center in the 1700 block of east Ash Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina, on January 23, 2012. She lived with a roommate on Old Grantham Road in Goldsboro, having moved there from Unicoi, Tennessee in December. She has never been heard from again.

Garino had moved to North Carolina for a new start and to get off drugs, but her roommate was a heroin dealer. Few details are available in her case. Both North Carolina and Tennessee police are investigating.
