State police searching for missing boy

Kentucky State Police is searching for a missing child in Breathitt County.

Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Officer Post 13 Trooper Matt Gayheart says KSP responded to a 911 call for a missing child in the Panbowl Branch Road area of Jackson Wednesday morning.

Gayheart says troopers and local search and rescue teams responded to the area and began searching for the missing child, Jayden Spicer, 10.

The preliminary investigation shows that Spicer left his home in the middle of the night and early morning hours.

Spicer was last seen around 9 pm on Tuesday at his home. He was last seen wearing a blue “Sonic the Hedgehog” pajama set.

Found it!

She is buried in a family cemetary.

IF she was in hospice, that means he probably got sent to his mom's before gg's death.

She looks very far into addiction - as in it isn't a new issue, but chronic. Did they not ever do a check on him to see how he was doing? Did they just ship him off to his mom without ever doing anything to see if he was adapting to his new environment? Was this the actual reason why he was reported missing is that they were inquiring?
I don’t understand why he had to go live with her after his grandma died. If she was unfit while grandma was alive, she’s still unfit. He should’ve been put in the state protection. I know it sucks, but at least he would still be alive.

At the very least, they should have had safeguards in place for the first year or so. It sounds like they just threw him to the wolves and hoped she would accept him. She had 10 years to get her act together and it seems like she chose not to.

No idea how you found that but great job! That is written very oddly imo, separating out daughters, grandkids, etc. in no rhyme or reason.

Do we know that entire story? There could have been an informal agreement between mom and grandma for one. No legal standing.

I honestly don't know the details--it does seem he should not have been sent to mom but why was he?

Grandmother and Jayden were living with Samantha mentioned in obituary. He was taken from Samantha when grandmother died. Samantha had no say in the matter, btw.

But yes, he was thrown to a wolf.
Thought since beginning State is going to be answering some questions here but then I didn't really know it all, still don't and don't read other sources is probably why.

One thing very clear is he was absolutely helpless and no one safe guarded him.

Didn't I read somewhere that she has 6 kids in total. 3 with current partner that possibly lived with them and 3 that did not live with her and we can guess that means taken away from her. I guess the possibly could be living with their bio dad's though, too.

I'm just stumped on how they thought a lady that has 3 kids taken away from her AND with child abuse convictions take custody of a kid she lost and never seemed to get her act together for 10 whole years. It was within that time that she got the child abuse conviction, too.

The kids that lived with them will be the key to what actually happened here, I believe.

You know, she dumbly preserved evidence by burying him in a tote I'm thinking. Good for the prosecution.
I was kind of chuckling to myself a bit thinking the same thing.

My main question is exactly how long ago this actually happened. I'm sure the kids will be a huge part of the answers to exactly when and even possibly the actual how.
