Amber Alert issued for abducted south Alabama teen believed to be in ‘extreme danger’​

An Amber Alert was issued Sunday night for a south Alabama teen girl believed to be in extreme danger.

The state of Alabama issued the alert for 16-year-old Jada Yvonne Varner. The teen was last seen about 4 p.m. Sunday in the area of Geneva County’s County Road 28 in Slocomb.

Authorities said her abductor is Ezekiel Vang, 21. The pair may be traveling in a 2008 silver Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible with Alabama license plate 34CH906. Family members of Varner posted on Facebook that the teen was taken against her will at gunpoint.

The State of Alabama has issued a Child Abduction Emergency AMBER Alert. The Geneva County Sheriff's Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency ask for your assistance in locating Jada Yvonne Varner White female 16 years of age blonde hair and green eyes. Jada Varner was last seen on May 9th 2021 wearing blue jean overall cutoffs and a white shirt in the area of County Road 28 in Slocomb AL around 4 pm and is believed to be in extreme danger.

The abductor Ezekiel Vang is a 21 year old biracial male who is 5 feet 8 inches tall 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt with green army style pants black gloves and hat.

The subjects may be traveling in a 2008 silver Mitsubishi Eclipse bearing Alabama plate 3 4 C H 9 0 6.

The Geneva County Sheriff’s Office says Varner and Vang were found in Greenville, Florida. After a short car chase, the car wrecked and Varner did suffer some non-life-threatening injuries.

Vang, who was able to run away from the crash, has been captured in Florida. It is unclear, according to the sheriff’s office, when he will be brought back to Alabama to face charges.

The sheriff’s office says Vang is wanted on multiple felony charges in several states.
