Police Expand Search As 2-Year-Old Autistic Tot Remains Missing Overnight

Minnesota authorities expanded their search Tuesday morning, in hopes of finding a toddler who disappeared Monday while out with family at Rosland Park in Edina.

According to officials, 2-year-old Iklas Abdullahi Ahmed was last seen with her family off of 4300 block of West 66th Street at around 5 p.m. Monday. Police said the girl may have wandered off on her own.

After searching the park Monday, police expanded the search Tuesday to include the surrounding areas.

“This doesn’t mean our missing child is here within the immediate area,” Edina Police Chief Todd Milburn said, ABC 5 reports.

“This child could have wandered off way beyond the park area so that is why we’re reaching out to our residents beyond the park to see if they’ve seen anything and they can help."
Residents in the surrounding areas are asked to check their lawns, homes, vehicles, and anywhere a 2-year-old could possibly hide.

Family members told police that the toddler is autistic and non-verbal. She may not respond if someone calls out to her.
