NY GUSTAVO OLIVEIRA: Missing from Clifton Park, NY - 8 May 2020 - Age 9 *Found Safe*

Prayers that he is found swiftly and safely. I see no vehicle noted.

Same last name, perhaps his father? I have more hope in such abductions than stranger abductions.

Just checking some various headlines and most have no more info than any other. This one though does mention the man was charged in February with robbery and stalking.

The abduction comes three months after the suspect, Nivaldo Oliveira, was accused of breaking into his estranged wife's apartment while she and a child hid in an upstairs bathroom and called police, records show.

Oliveira was charged with felony burglary in the earlier case, arraigned and released on his own recognizance, court officials said Friday. He failed to show up for court two weeks later and a warrant has been out for him since, court officials said.

The circumstances surrounding how the young boy was removed from his home aren't clear, but authorities say he was last seen wearing orange shorts and a red t-shirt. His dad - the suspect, is known to police, and they believe the child's safety is in jeopardy.

There was a false alarm in Albany near Tivoli Park where NewsChannel 13 found a state police helicopter combing a neighborhood, sources telling us the father's cell phone was pinged to this area. However, a ground search, along with that state police chopper and a drone, turned up nothing.

There is no description of his vehicle.

It bothered me from the start of this thread that they had no vehicle description in the Amber Alert but I hoped and thought as he was with his father and no known vehicle that they couldn't get far without a vehicle and he would be found safe by now hopefully. Not so far though is scary.

SAFE!!!

The boy sought in an Amber Alert case was found safe late Friday and his father, the suspect in the abduction, was apprehended in an Albany neighborhood, city police said.

The suspect, Nivaldo P. Oliveira, was taken into custody near Ontario Street and Livingston Avenue, police department spokesman Officer Steve Smith said in a tweet at about 9:45 p.m.

Smith said shortly after 9 p.m., Albany community members notified the police after seeing Oliveira walking with the child, 9-year-old Gustavo Oliveira, on Ontario Street. They called police and patrol cars were on the scene almost immediately, Smith said.

The boy was not injured and police brought him to South Station. "The child is safe," Smith said.

Thank God! Best possible news.
