BOLO: Alabama Mom Allegedly Says 3-Year-Old Girl ‘Disappeared Mysteriously’ from Bedroom

Police in Alabama are seeking tips on a missing 3-year-old girl, reported missing out of Enterprise.

According to the Enterprise Police Department, Genises Nova Reid was last seen at 201 Apache Drive. The exact day she disappeared is currently unclear.

WFSA reports that neighbors said that they have not seen Genises since early January. Multiple sources reportedly said that law enforcement is questioning the mother’s story; she claimed that Genesis “disappeared mysteriously” from a bedroom.

A missing persons flyer shared by Enterprise police indicated that her parents said their door had been opened and that they couldn’t locate the child.

It’s unclear which door at their residence had been found opened.

I'm trying to figure it out where mom is arrested but they say dad is good, cooperating, not in trouble, whatever it is they said, and rest of family. In early accounts, it said parents plural but it was mom's story that was doubted.

What I'm trying to figure is if dad and her were not together and parents plural means her and a bf, it wouldn't be the first time we didn't know that OR if dad was in the home and mom and dad together, did mom lie to him and claim the child went missing...? Was he not at home? Is he not the plural parents the news refers to? I'd like to know more about that.

It seemed obvious where this one was headed but still one hopes.

Neighbors or a neighbor said she was an outgoing little girl and was often seen on walks with her mom. That just paints a picture of a caring mom, that the child doesn't seem abused or scared and is outgoing, etc. and out with mom...

Yet conversely, neighbors were quick to say mom's story was doubted and they hadn't seen child recently so what gives there, it's like two different things as far as how it seemed...

Seems they right off suspected mom... The neighbors.

I don't know.

There's an epidemic where crimes against children are concerned imo. And the laws are nowhere near tough enough on some of it.

I think there's more to this story and the background and probably the family makeup even.

Cadaver dog searches around missing girl’s home

Authorities used a cadaver dog Wednesday morning in their relentless search for a missing Enterprise toddler.

They are trained to locate human remains, another indication that police fear Genesis Reid may be dead, though officers hold out hope for a better outcome.

A dog searched around the apartment complex where she lived with her mother and nearby woods.

The girl’s mother, police said, reported her missing early Monday, but investigators believe Adrienne Reid conjured that story, with neighbors saying they had not seen the girl in several weeks.

Authorities charged her with false reporting to law enforcement, and she is held without bond in the Coffee County Jail.

Updates on the investigation into Genesis Reid’s disappearance are expected during a press conference scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Enterprise Police Department.

Alabama police hunt for missing 2-year-old girl with cadaver dogs: ‘Thank God we didn’t find anything’

Cadaver dogs were brought in for the third day of the search for a missing Alabama toddler.

With assistance from East Alabama Canine Search and Recovery, investigators searched the wooded area – including drainage and sewer pipes - surrounding the apartment where 33-year-old Adrienne Reid on Monday reported to police that her daughter, 2-year-old Genesis Reid – vanished from the home.

“Thank God we didn’t find anything,” said Enterprise police Chief Michael Moore said in a Wednesday afternoon press briefing.

Mother of missing Enterprise toddler held on $1 million bond as search continues

The mother of a missing Enterprise 2-year-old is being held on a $1 million cash bond as police continue searching for the child.

Adrienne Reid appeared Tuesday by video before a Coffee County judge, who set the bond and ordered strict conditions if she is released, according to the Enterprise Police Department. Until bond is posted, Reid will remain in custody at the Coffee County Jail.

If released, Reid must comply with strict conditions ordered by the judge, including GPS monitoring, drug screening, and daily check-ins with Enterprise police. She also must remain in Coffee County unless granted permission by the court.

Investigators continued targeted search efforts to locate Genesis on Wednesday, with members of East Alabama K9 Search and Recovery joining in the search. They deployed a certified cadaver canine around the apartment complex and nearby wooded areas, but police said the search did not yield evidence tied to the child.

Police Chief Michael Moore said the K9 deployment was a standard step to rule out the immediate area around the complex, adding that investigators are encouraged by the lack of findings.

Police are asking anyone who had a personal relationship or social interaction with Adrienne Reid between Dec. 24, 2025, and Feb. 16, 2026, to contact investigators, saying even small details could be important.

Looks like she'll probably be there for a while. Good!

Coffee County authorities could charge Adrienne Reid with murder even if they don’t find her daughter’s body, though it would be challenging to obtain a conviction without that key piece of evidence.

Challenging, but not impossible. In fact, it happened only a few years ago in the same county.

In the current case, Reid, 33, has not been publicly identified as a murder suspect as authorities continue to search for her missing 2-year-old daughter, who her mother claimed crawled out of her bed and walked out the door into early morning darkness on Monday.

Neighbors believe — and investigators suspect — that little Genesis Reid had been gone long before then, and authorities were so convinced Reid lied to police that they charged her with making false reports to law enforcement.

She is jailed after Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox convinced a judge to place her under a $1 million cash bond on a charge that generally would have no higher than $15,000 posted and would result in little, if any, prison time.

While Tarbox won’t call Reid a “murder suspect,” his actions suggest he believes otherwise.

Knowing that a high bond won’t hold up forever, Tarbox — as hopes of finding Genesis dim — must decide whether he’ll file murder charges if her body isn’t found and whether he can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the girl is dead and that her mother, Adrienne Reid, killed her.

If he can get away with charging her without other evidence, that would be wonderful! Doesn't seem to pass the DA's sniff test in other jurisdictions. Like when Melodee Buzzard was missing!

Search for missing 2-year-old expanding around Enterprise area, police asking for more tips

The ongoing search for missing 2-year-old Genesis Nova Reid of Enterprise kicked off once again early Thursday morning, with teams spread out around the city and beyond.

The search has expanded throughout the Enterprise area, with teams searching wooded areas around the city and the Coffee County landfill. The search grid was initially confined to the streets, sewers, and wooded areas around Meadowbrook Apartments on Apache Drive earlier this week.

While all tips are welcome, investigators are specifically asking for anyone who had a personal relationship or social interaction with Genesis’s mother, Adrienne Reid, between December 24, 2025, and February 16, 2026, to come forward. All tips are immediatly assigned to an investigator.

You can contact the Enterprise Police Department at (334) 347-2222.

“Someone may have just a little piece of a huge puzzle. That information we can plug into what we know and help us out drastically,” Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore said.

Two digital billboards along Boll Weevil Circle are displaying photos of Genesis, hoping to get the attention of passersby. The billboards are located at the intersections of Highway 167 and Boll Weevil Circle, and of Highway 84 and Boll Weevil Circle.

Is she 2 or 3? I have seen both on here. See below clarification.

When did Grandma last see her?

These are points below that I have copied from upthread. Before January would mean she has been missing 50 days or more. (31 days plus 19 ). So she will be 3 next month - March. They want to find this woman called Mariah.

Info taken from the posts upthread -

"Neighbors said they hadn’t seen Genesis in weeks, saying that before January they frequently saw her walking around the neighborhood with her mother."

"Authorities first reported Genesis age as 3, but later amended her age to 2, with her third birthday next month."

"Police are searching for a woman named Mariah who may frequent the Level Plains area and who may be able to shed light on what happened to a missing 2-year-old girl from Enterprise. He said she may frequent Level, a Level Plains bar and has ties to Ozark"

The Moriah sounds like something the mother made up as to someone who has her or may have taken her. May be a real person but doubtful it's true. Think of Lori Daybell saying first Melanie had JJ, but told others Kay had him, etc. Or like Casey Anthony with the nanny claim. It may or may not be a real person but doubtful they took or have the child imo.

What about Grandma? When did she last see her? Oh i see you answered that too. When did anyone last see her?

It says somewhere above that they have someone apparently that saw her in the weeks before this, can't recall exactly how long. In recent posts, not all the way back, in the links.

Sorry I can't recall exactly.

It's pretty clear here what they think and where this is likely going but I am praying she is found safe. Not counting on it however.

Vigil to be held for missing Enterprise 2-year-old as emotions run high

Emotions are running high in Enterprise and across the Wiregrass as the search for 2-year-old Genesis Nova Reid continues.

A vigil will be held for Genesis on Friday, February 20, at Bates Memorial Stadium on East Watts Avenue.

The vigil, which is put on by community members, is set to start at 7:00 p.m. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Initially, the vigil was set to be held at the Enterprise City Hall, but was moved to the stadium as there are expected to be a large number of people at the event.

“The gathering is intended to unite our community in hope, prayer, and collective resolve as we continue working to bring Genesis home,” said Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore “Organizers respectfully ask that these attendees come in the proper spirit of unity and reflection, and bring only a light source, nothing else. We encourage everyone to gather in support of Genesis and out community’s endeavor to bring her home safely.”

Target of social media speculation cleared as suspect in search for missing girl

Police are dispelling more misinformation spread by social media users, this time focusing on a mysterious woman who could help in the search for 2-year-old Genesis Reid Nova.

Since police announced they are searching for Moriah, rumors have surfaced on social media, claiming Moriah is a neighbor who has often been seen at the Meadowbrook Apartments and around the Wiregrass wearing pink clothing.

On Wednesday, posts began popping up, saying Moriah had been pulled over and surrounded in a parking lot by Enterprise Police.

However, Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore balked at the misinformation, revealing that Moriah has still not been located and that the neighbor people claimed was Moriah is not the person police have been searching for.

Chief Moore says the neighbor has been cooperative and is only considered a witness.

“We ask the public to refrain from speculation, and to allow innocent individuals to go about their lives without harassment,” said Chief Moore.

Police are still searching for Moriah, though Chief Moore said earlier in the week that this person is only considered a person of interest and is not a suspect at this time

Chief Moore said Reid gave very little information, only saying she frequents Levels Bar and Grille in Enterprise.

Genesis Reid: Search Enters Day 4 for Missing Alabama Tot, Mother Remains Jailed

The search continues for a missing Alabama toddler, Genesis Reid, a 2-year-old reported missing out of Enterprise.

According to ABC 13, Genesis’ father and other family members have been cooperative as the search continues, police said. Her mother, Adrienne Reid, remains behind bars on felony charges of providing false information to law enforcement.

The search for Genesis. What’s next?

If Enterprise, Alabama, police chief Michael Moore said it once last week, he said it a dozen times. One seemingly insignificant tip could be the key to bringing Genesis Reid home safely.

Indications are investigators don’t have that tip and, with each passing day, chances of Genesis’ safe return diminish.

Her mother reported Genesis missing in the predawn hours of Feb. 16, but holes soon developed in her account and investigators suspect the girl had been gone for several weeks, not a few hours as Adrienne Reid told them

So suspicious was Reid’s account that prosecutors charged her with false reporting to law enforcement, a low-level felony for which a judge set a $1 million cash-only bond.

The bond doesn’t fit the charge, but it gives investigators leverage in their effort to learn what really happened to Genesis if her mother lied.

Chief Moore on Thursday vowed to keep searching for Genesis but eventually, with little hope and nowhere else to reasonably search, the effort must be scaled back.

Ultimately, Adrienne Reid’s bond, without additional charges, will likely be reduced and she could walk out of jail without giving investigators the information they so desperately need.

But there is hope—hope that somebody has that tip Moore keeps talking about or hope that Adrienne Reid talks.
