EVELYN BOSWELL: Tennessee vs. Megan Boswell for 2019 murder of daughter *GUILTY*

The prosecutors speaking afterwards. Interestingly, the judge could stack sentences on all of her other charges on top of the life sentence or he could run such consecutively. That was one interesting question and answer. The female P said they will fight to keep her in when she does come up for parole at 69. She must mean possibly future Ps because in 50 years who knows if any of us will be around.

Megan Boswell sent to women’s prison in Nashville

Convicted child killer Megan Boswell has been transferred to a state prison, according to Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy.

Cassidy told News Channel 11 that Boswell was sent to a women’s prison in Nashville. The Tennessee Department of Correction has Boswell listed as being in the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center.

According to the sheriff, she will be transported back to Sullivan County for her sentencing hearing.

Sullivan County District Attorney will file motion for consecutive sentences for Boswell

Sullivan County District Attorney General Barry Staubus says his office will file a motion for consecutive sentencing for Megan Boswell.

The state wants Boswell to serve her sentences back-to-back instead of at the same time. If a judge agrees, Boswell could spend the rest of her life in prison.

In February, Boswell was found guilty of killing her toddler, Evelyn Boswell.

A sentencing trial was held after the verdict and a jury sentenced her to life in prison with the possibility of parole meaning she would be eligible for parole after 52 years. She would be around 69 years old.

Boswell's next hearing will take place May 22.

So a jury sentences and then a judge resentences? That may be a new one to me.

This is just a sad case all the way around. I don't often feel that way but I do somewhat in this one. She had no mother or guidance whatsoever nor did her daughter. She made a very wrong decision however.

Sentencing hearing for Megan Boswell rescheduled for September
The sentencing hearing for Megan Boswell who was convicted of killing her 15-month-old daughter is now rescheduled for September.

Boswell was supposed to appear in court on May 22, but the hearing was delayed. According to Assistant District Attorney General William Harper, the hearing will now take place Sept. 5th at 1:30PM

Back in February, a jury found Boswell guilty of murdering her daughter, Evelyn Boswell and sentenced her to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

The prosecution is now seeking consecutive sentencing for her remaining convictions which could eliminate her parole possibility.

Megan’s defense attorney has also filed a motion for a new trial.

This trial was delayed for years on end with little explanation, now they are delaying sentencing. I see no reason for it. Personally I almost think they are trying to keep her in county as long as they can.

If I have it right she has 38 years consecutive to the life sentence where she could have been possibly out after 51 but not now. For sure it is an addl 25 years but I think the grand total was 33 years. So she'll never get out or shouldn't anyhow.

This was long, and triggering at times.

Good!!! It's about time!!! 2019. That's ridiculous.

Megan Boswell receives 33-year sentence alongside life term for daughter's murder

Megan Boswell, the Sullivan County woman convicted earlier this year of killing her 1-year-old daughter, was sentenced Friday to an additional 33 years in prison on non-murder charges.

The new sentence will run consecutively to the life term a jury handed down in February after finding Boswell guilty of murdering her daughter, Evelyn Boswell.

Boswell, 22, will serve her time at a rehabilitation center in Nashville, according to court officials.

She spoke briefly during Friday’s hearing, telling the judge that if she had received “a fair trial,” she would have been acquitted of all charges.

The title makes it sound as if it is concurrent but it is consecutive. That does not mean alongside, it means after.
