A search is underway for a personal trainer in South Carolina who went missing after leaving a gym last week, authorities said.

Elena Katherine Moore, 39, was last seen walking away from a Planet Fitness in Lexington on Thursday, according to police. She was reported missing the following day, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Moore was last seen walking away from the Planet Fitness toward a wooded area behind a nearby Lowe's Home Improvement store, police said. It is unclear where she went from there, Silcox said.

Police used drones to search the woods to no avail on Friday, and officers were back canvassing the area on Monday.

"We just wanted to make sure before we rule this whole area out that there's not anything that we missed," Silcox said.

Moore was wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants when she was last seen. She is described as being white with brown hair and brown eyes, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 120 lbs
In a previous statement, police said that prior reports of Moore having been found were incorrect, adding that there is "no known vehicle in her possession."
It had also previously been incorrectly reported that Moore was last seen at a CVS store about a mile away.

New surveillance video offers fresh clue in search for missing Lexington woman​

Investigators have released new information and photographs in the search for a missing Lexington woman who has not been seen since last week.

According to police, newly obtained surveillance footage shows Moore walking through the Publix parking lot at 100 Old Cherokee Road on Thursday, June 11.

Investigators said the footage captured Moore walking in the direction of Old Cherokee Road at approximately 9:17 p.m.

Police said Moore was wearing the same olive-green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants she was reported wearing after leaving Planet Fitness earlier that evening.

The new video provides the latest confirmed sighting of Moore since she was reported missing.

Investigators have also released new photographs of Moore in hopes that someone may recognize her or remember seeing her in recent days.

According to police, one newly released image was captured by a front door camera about a week before Moore was reported missing.

I can't find what time she left Planet Fitness. How long between the time she left and the parking lot / wooded area sighting. Was it normal for her to walk home? That late at night? It says she was traveling in the direction of her home, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

To be sure, the clip – which was shared on X and Facebook – came from an unverified profiles and appeared to be doorbell footage. HT.com could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.

“A week before Elena Moore went missing, she was seen following a DoorDash delivery driver up the stairs of an apartment complex and picking up a food order. However, the delivery was not hers and did not belong to her apartment,” the person sharing the video wrote in the caption.

“Video shows Elena looking at the receipt with confusion before the actual resident opened the door and took the order from her. She then attempted to follow the resident into the apartment. The resident and their partner stated that she appeared disoriented and “not all there mentally” during the encounter,” they added.

Reportedly, Elena Moore's husband Brannon Slice had also posted earlier about her not being well, but subsequently deleted the same. The alleged video showed Moore in a black tee and slacks, with dark shades. She appeared to speak to a delivery agent before picking up a package and taking a look at the bill. Moore then rung the doorbell and after handing over the package, appeared to try and follow the individual into their home. However, there was an exchange between Moore and the other person, believed to be a stranger, after which the door was closed, and Moore first appeared to go right, towards the stairs, before turning left.

I read in social media by someone who said they "know her" that she was having some mental issues. The husband could have removed his post as it's common for the guilty to say the missing person was having mental issues - using this as an excuse. It doesn't mean it's a cover up in all cases, however.

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said the body was found at 2.48 p.m. and matches the clothing description of 39-year-old Elena Katherine Moore.

Green also confirmed the Lexington County Coroner is working to confirm the identity of the body.
