DOERMAN BOYS: 3 sons shot “execution style” by father in Ohio *GUILTY PLEA*

1687200097710.jpeg

WATCH THIS. EVIL PIECE OF SH*T. This is recent. It is short. Doesn't matter whose show it is but I haven't seen it elsewhere, just came across it. I think we need to look into this one and have a thread.

THIS "father" killed his 3 sons in FRONT of the mother/his wife and his stepdaughter. Mom tried to do something and he I think shot her in the hand. Stepdaughter ran down the street screaming. In short order at the beginning of this, they show the police taking him down and into custody. A TWENTY million dollar bond was asked for by the prosecution.

When have we ever heard of one where the perp leaves the mom alone AND a stepchild but kills his own three boys in front of those two????? I haven't come across anything else about it but haven't looked, just happened to run into this with the bit of time I had before bed.

A MUST watch imo. And SHORT.

Well whatever his reason or motive, he certainly wasn't insane or didn't plot nor know it to be wrong. I'm sure the defense will try to change that somehow at some point as what else can they do in this one? But they'll try. Maybe there will be some new crazy one so many defense attorneys/public defenders seem to be coming up with these days or attempting to make fly anyhow...

This is a case where there is literally zero change anyone did this but him, that is KNOWN. I also have a bad feeling in this one that this mother/wife may not have turned on him, there's little word on that but I certainly hope she has and is getting some serous help with such loss. His dad also made excuses for him and wanted to bail him out and have bond lowered. He just "snapped" after all. The family dynamic has hints of much. Your son murdered his THREE BOYS in cold blood, your grandchildren but he deserves bail and help?

And admitted to planning it, whether a judge allows this or not in front of a jury, we already know it.

Judge rules man accused of killing 3 sons in Clermont Co. had rights violated after arrest

A judge in Clermont County has ruled the man accused of killing his three young sons last June had some of his rights violated in the hours following his arrest.

On Friday, Judge Richard Ferenc in Clermont County released his ruling, saying Doerman's Miranda Rights were violated in two instances.

In their motion to suppress, defense attorneys claimed Doerman "invoked his right to counsel at least twice" during his interrogation, which lasted more than three hours. They wrote, "Detectives ignored Mr. Doerman's request and continued to question him as if he didn't ask for an attorney."

Ferenc ruled Friday that Doerman's rights were violated during the Custodial Interrogation, saying all statements obtained during this time will be suppressed at trial.

Ferenc also ruled that detectives failed to fully and properly advise Doerman of his Miranda Rights prior to initiating his initial Interrogation, and all statements obtained from Doerman during that time will be suppressed.

The judge also sided with the prosecution in four key areas, ruling that several of the defense's claims were meritless.

That includes the defense's argument that Doerman's statements were involuntary due to "outrageous police conduct." The judge said that there is no evidence to support that.

Doerman is scheduled to go on trial in July.

Sounds fair to me.

Could make a couple of very valid points in relation to a couple of things but why bother.

There is so much evidence against this man it isn't even funny. I guess this might take out some of his admitted preplanning and total intent. How officers even control the emotion of probably wanting to kill him on site I don't know when seeing three dead little boy's bodies, BUT YES I KNOW THAT WOULD BE WRONG.

EVIL POS father doesn't have a prayer anyhow other than a corrupt sysem, power or influence or money, OR a mental defense. Crimes against children are the worst of the worst and none should rate better or worse but this one really took some of the cake. He isn't going anywhere and if he does, then the system has completely caved in. Let his atty. make a name, let it take decades or however long, the usual. Let the judge show himself fair both ways (and perhaps he is, I hope so)), this man should be going away regardless. Forever.

It's also another one where I'd sure hope the mom and sister aren't feeling bad for dad and forgiving him I'd hope just the opposite.

Man accused of killing 3 sons in Clermont County pleads not guilty by reason of insanity

A Clermont County man accused of killing his three young sons last June has entered a plea of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity.

According to court documents, Chad Doerman, 32, entered the written plea on March 25 in Clermont County.

In response to Doerman's plea on Monday, the state requested a second evaluation of Doerman's mental condition on the day of the shooting.

Well that was predicted. First step confession thrown out and next step expected is pretty much immediate.

This one though, I would hope, will not pan out.

No reasont ot hink it but I also HOPE to heck this mom isn't in support of him and has herself and daughter far away with no contact of any kind. We sure see enough of that lately and then of course there is his dad and so on.

He needs to be never free in his lifetime.

'Chad knows what's right': New document reveals more about moments before Doerman allegedly murdered his sons

Amendments made to a court document that detailed the course of events the day Chad Doerman allegedly murdered his three sons could shed further light on Doerman's recent plea change.

The bill of particulars initially disclosed last year detailed the allegations against Doerman down to his movements on June 15, 2023; a new copy with amendments was filed on April 23, 2024.

In that new copy, a paragraph has been added that details more of Doerman's alleged actions in the moments before police say he fired the first shots.

According to the document, Doerman returned home early from work and, after being home for "a little while," he picked up a Bible and began walking around the house with it.

"Chad knows what's right," the document says Doerman mumbled while walking with the Bible.

Doerman then went to get into his gun safe in the master bedroom.

The documents say Doerman's wife intervened and told Doerman that he was scaring her, that she didn't like what he was doing and that she was going to call his parents.

Doerman responded that he was "just kidding" and "playing around," according to the document.

After that, Doerman decided to lie down in the bedroom; because of his behavior, Doerman's wife did not want him to be alone, the documents say, so she and one of the children went into the bedroom with him.

From there, the narrative of events is the same as the initial version released in 2023, with the document detailing Doerman removing a Marlin Model .22 rifle with a loaded magazine from the gun safe in the bedroom and opening fire on his family, including chasing his children through the yard of the home.

The amended bill of particulars was filed just over one month after a Clermont County judge determined Doerman's Miranda Rights had been violated by the officers who interrogated him. That interrogation, including an alleged confession from Doerman the Clermont County Sheriff's Office said it contained, will no longer be admissible as evidence in Doerman's trial.

Then, the following week, Doerman appeared in court and entered a new plea to the charges against him: not guilty by reason of insanity. His attorneys filed the plea more than nine months after his arrest and his first plea of not guilty.

Doerman has been held in the Clermont County jail since his arrest; Clermont County Judge Richard P. Ferenc ordered a psychiatric examination be completed on Doerman by April 26. It's unclear when the results of that examination may be released, but Ferenc ruled Doerman must remain behind bars, including for the evaluation.

Attorneys for father accused of killing his 3 sons file motion to exclude the death penalty

Attorneys for Chad Doerman, the man accused of shooting and killing his three sons, is requesting the court exclude the death penalty "due to serious mental illness."

The motion as filed by the defense along with Doerman's plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. In response to Doerman's plea, the state requested a second evaluation of Doerman's mental condition on the day of the shooting.

"Mr. Doerman acknowledges that if the court finds that he is stutorily ineligible for a death sentence fdue ot serious mental illness, and the jury convicts him of aggravated murder and one or more aggravating circumstance, the court will sentence him to life imprisonment without parole," the court filing states.

A hearing is set for Friday to hear arguments.

He gave his beautiful little boys the DP. All THREE of them. Hunted them down like animals and not babies. Why do I think some would have more of a fit if these were animals than they do when human children...

But let's give him his life this FORMER husband and father of three (no longer they are DEAD) and stepfather of one while three little boys lie dead in their graves, their last moments known terrified and hunted down by their own father and seeing their brothers murdered, etc.

Oh sorry, he has mental issues and has insanity, at least that day he did. @Mel70

What is even more disturbing these days? Is the acceptance and total lack of outrage over this. Lately I think God I was of the generation I am and have seen both sides of it and what works and what does not.

I also want to say and put right here on record that I HOPE this wife is not standing by this man. Already aware his dad was making excuses.

Insanity? Give me a break.

Chad Doerman trial could be delayed a year after defense motions to remove death penalty

The trial of Chad Doerman, the Clermont County father accused of killing his three sons, could be delayed until next year.

Doerman’s defense team filed a motion April 30 to take the death penalty off the table due to an Ohio law passed in 2021.

The law signed by Gov. Mike DeWine bans the death penalty for those who were seriously mentally ill at the time of their offense.

With this motion, an extensive hearing will be held to determine if Doerman was seriously mentally ill.

Clermont County Common Pleas Judge Richard Ferenc said the hearing could take two or three days and would liken more to a mini trial than a simple hearing.

The prosecution and defense will both present expert testimony on the state of Doerman’s mental health when he allegedly executed his three sons last June.

Doerman’s lawyer, Gregory Meyers, said Friday that his client was prepared to waive his right to a speedy trial until at least Jan. 1, 2025.

Both the prosecution and the defense have started making plans for the trial to happen some time next year.

Ferenc’s term as judge is up at the end of this year. He explained Friday that he has “aged out” and cannot run for re-election. To avoid further delays to the trial, the prosecution and defense have agreed to explore the possibility of bringing in a visiting judge.

Judges must be certified to hear death penalty cases and Ferenc’s expected replacement would have to obtain that certification.

Ferenc said the court had already sent 750 summons for jury duty in expection of the July trial along with extensive jury questionnaires. That process will now have to happen again whenever a new trial is scheduled.

The “serious mental illness” hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 5.

Mental illness or insanity? They talk mental illness.

I'm going to say something I am sure some won't like and it never actually dawned on me nor have I had this thought until this minute. But let's say you are insane or were at the time of slaughtering your own children (again though seems to be mental illness here and not insanity), you STILL slaughtered your children. Really, whether understood or not you are a danger, you did such so what is the theory and reasoning here? And of course I could go sidetrack here and almost all of them are fine the day before, the month before, etc. but to get back to the thought i've never had--if some disturbed, you are MORE of a danger. And you STILL committed an act SHORT OF VOICES THAT ARE REAL AND DEMONS IN YOUR HEAD or in this case probably ALCOHOL and just control and evil, why should you avoid the DP any more than someone else? The theory is with THESE they can go into a hospital and be fixed I guess. Oh please.

I am so SICK of this sh*t. @Mel70 actually I am worried about you, haven't seen you on in a week or two.

EVEN IF INSANE. Now here it is "mentally ill" well I am sorry we all likely are in some way or another and you know what the law is and know choices have consequences. SUCH BULL.

Here is what is wrong in this one. There is basically NO DOUBT HE DID THIS. This case even with a confession thrown out is a SLAM DUNK. IN BROAD daylight he chased and slaughtered his little boys. Neighbors knew mom and stepdaughter knew and saw (unless they are going to help him now), there is basically zilch, zero, nada doubt. Lori Daybell deserved the DP and so does this man. So does Chad. Does any murderer have something WRONG with them? Sure. How can they not. A lack of morals, greed, you name it. Even maybe some issues, a bad childhood, etc. Mel has a point in this always and I agree. Do you KNOW how many of us can claim that? And how many tons of others? Or their kids? Or their neighbors? NO ONE HAS IT PERFECT. For those that did, you lilies and live in a valley you wear rose colored glasses and grow orchids. Lucky you. I have a good family and I had with my family a good childhood but not all was rosy at school and other things in life. I knew kids that struggeld and did have it bad. Not a ONE murdered anyone. To this day.

It is all b.s. This how many last decades soft sh*t that so many younger buy into. I don't think If NOT clear proof and solid that anyone should get DP and not life but by God when there is, they dam*Ed well should. They GAVE victims the DP as this man did with his own children. But what a joke the DP anyhow and now the newer thing, seems like every week for a few years now, there is almost never any LIFE when LIFE in prison. It's 35 or 45 on the WORST murders. IF THAT.

I have watched my adult children as many do and I did as they get into 30s and then near or into 40s (I have one of each) you start to see and get things, grow up and get time finally to really start looking at the truth of this world yourself and you change your views, and with real knowledge. I've seen it happen for generations.

I'll be dead before this last few decades of wrongly taught and just believing whatever soft soap approach is the nicest way will get it. But most will. Not all. My kids are. All on their own. Not from me. One also grew up and quit being a Bears fan other than the PACKER FAN she was supposed to be. Had to kind of come there on her own.

I wonder why I'm old and so tired. Might get three hours sleep or be short on time to relax with coffee before work tomorrow.

This is B.S. And no way of knowing but have a real concern his wife like in Delphi and LISK may be on board. God I hope not. Have no reason to think it but have no reason to not. I know his dad certainly was doing that from the start. He just have just snapped. Had a break. Never like this.

If all are happy with this justice system, start paying attention. Although sometimes I think one out of 30 care. Maybe make that a lot higher number. As long as all is fine in their bubble and nothing happens to one of theirs or they believe it can't, ah just go on and pay no attention and let it worsen.

I'm not going to shirt up about it. Might make no difference but this guy deserves the DP, I don't think he was insane and mentally ill shouldn't even count and even if he was, he doesn't belong in a hospital with milk and cookies.

What about these little BOYS?!!

Bed. Need to go to bed. Not tired. Will be to no end in a few hours.

Stopped here on new post and haven't hit Morphew yet. Although that one wasn't for new news, just some comments on my mind today I wanted to remember to post.

New Richmond Youth Sports Association honors slain Doerman brothers with new field name

Laura Doerman officially opened the newly designated C.H.C. Memorial Field at New Richmond Youth Sports Association in honor of her slain boys on Saturday morning.

Coach Dwayne Kuhn coached Clayton Doerman in baseball for three years.

“Today we are here to show our love for these incredible kids: Clayton, Hunter and Chase,” Kuhn said holding back tears.

The C.H.C Memorial Field flag flies over centerfield where they will be joined with Clayton, Hunter and Chase's former baseball jerseys to watch over generations of young athletes for years to come. “These three boys loved each other fiercely and loved the game of baseball,” Kuhn said.

"The word tragedy wasn’t used here today. Instead, it was a celebration of baseball, filled with the joy of children at play," said Kristin Bennett, the president of the New Richmond Youth Sports Association. “It's great. It's great for kids to have fun and play and have fun with new friends.”

"This community chose to remember the Doerman boys not for how they died, but for how they lived," Bennett continued. “It's just a great way to honor our boys to play the game of ball. Let's make sure everybody goes out and plays. We want everyone to go out and play with their kids. “

The New Richmond community present for the ceremony repeatedly echoed the sentiment that the field will now live on as a slice of heaven with its own angels in the outfield. They also expressed hope that the healing power of laughter and joy of future children at play on the field can overcome any evils that may have taken place in the past within the community.

heartwarming and awesome thing to do. nothing changes it and it it is all anyone can do in such cases, try to do something that is a memorial to three innocent children who should still be here. what else can anyone do so you try to do something positive or to help future children and victims or whatever you can take and try to make good from of bad.

I hope this mother is having NOTHNG to do with him. Are they divorced, would have been her first smart quick move, protect and do what you can. Daughter imo should never have to deal with knowing you would ever have contact with him again (unless to help LE or some such) but there is no question here who "dun" it... It is not a whodunit.

I take no news to mean no divorce filed and I take that to not be a good sign. Three young sons gunned down. FILE IT if you haven't.

Doerman brother slayings: Where the case stands one year later

One year ago, three young brothers were shot and killed outside their home in New Richmond, Ohio. Their father has been charged in their deaths.

As the one-year mark passes, the case is still being played out in court.

In late March, Doerman entered a plea of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. In response to Doerman's plea, the state requested a second evaluation of Doerman's mental condition on the day of the shooting.

In May, Doerman's attorneys filed a motion requesting the court exclude the death penalty "due to serious mental illness."

Judge Ferenc set an Aug. 5 date for a death penalty eligibility hearing.

Doerman's next court hearing will happen Aug. 5 for the death penalty eligibility hearing.

Ferenc also appointed a psychologist, Dr. Carla Dryer, to complete an evaluation for the state by July 3.

The original trial set for July 8 has been continued, and the defense has given the court until Jan. 31, 2025, to address a new trial date.

Hearing continued for Clermont County father accused of killing 3 sons

A hearing for the man accused of shooting and killing his three sons last year in Clermont County has been continued at the request of both the prosecution and defense.

The 'serious mental illness' hearing was set for Aug. 5 to decide if the death penalty is eligible in this case.

Judge Richard Ferenc ordered the hearing to be continued to a date that will be chosen in the future. The court document states the continuance doesn't count against the speedy trial time.

Vinnie had a show on this I caught part of last night but quit watching because all it was was repeating most things and a bit of over emotion by Vinnie (Nancy Grace can be the same at times) of news people who have reported on thousands of these cases can do, just came across as a bit over and fake to me. I wasn't in the mood for such. He then started to play the body cam stuff of the cops getting into positions and I know how that goes and what happened and I had no desire to see it again, until they took the perp down who was just sitting there after killing all his boys, attempting to hurt his wife and letting stepdaughter too see all and so on.

I'm mentioning it because maybe someone else wants to see his show. I watch him, I watch Nancy, not religiously but will. Neither though do I place up where I do some others. Their years in news and the way of it is ingrained imo.

It was on Court TV I believe and not his personal channel which I'm not always a fan of either. Depends on the show.

BUT for anyone who doesn't know the case or hasn't seen the body cam of that day, I imagine he played the entire thing. I bowed out. So tragic and these officers, even though now we have a thing about Miranda, how anyone can doubt their emotions and what they did not know they were facing and more as it unfolded, or not understand, is beyond me IF anyone feels that way. WHAT a day for them out of nowhere. Three young boys dead in the yard. By their father. I think that says enough.

And she can do as she likes but that woman better be divorcing his arse. What is with this women lately. I am "guessing" this one as no other news has come, Asa Ellerup we know of, she divorced to hide or keep assets but stands by him to make money too on documentaries or who knows, and Richard Allen's wife and mom apparently.

I feel like I live in a world gone crazy sometimes. As far as understanding condoning murder anyhow. And the acts in all of these cases. The evidence is overwhelming in two of the three, people argue if it is in Delphi but we are starting to see it. And the women KNOW. In their heart of hearts, they KNOW and if they didn't, they did once their hubs were caught and when they looked back they'd be able to SEE it.

Talk about denial or desperation or control, I don't know.

But I'm wandering but it is related. Anyhow Vinnie had a show out on it last night. Nothing wrong with it for those who like the TV type of stuff probably. I'm used to less sensational not TV produced talk of evidence and cases and so watching such really strikes me any more these days how different it is and more "produced" to me. Ten years ago I'd have probably watched every minute.

Nancy is striking I think a better understanding and balance in her shows but they are hers. Vinnie still does the Court TV thing and is trying wit his channel. Yt is a new one for him, he had a FB one prior. I don't know what kind of deal was struck there but he can do his own but then has to go do the whole Court TV way of things.

The way of the future is already hard in motion. Nate has it best. He runs his own and can do either. And anything.

Anyhow, I am wandering a bit so I will stop. Just mentioning it in case anyone is interested and I know a couple that watch mostly that kind of thing still.

I am sure to be fair he hit on all known, it was just a bit too over and fakey and produced for me. And again for me, I didn't need to spend a big part of it watching the body cams for that day and that's where it was heading.

Chad Doerman gets life in prison without parole in killings of his 3 sons

Chad Doerman been sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated murder in the killings of his three young sons.

Doerman pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder for killing his three young sons last year. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious assault, felonies of the second-degree, for injuries to his former wife and stepdaughter. In exchange, all of the aggravating circumstances that would have made him eligible for the death penalty are being dismissed.

Judge Richard Ferenc sentenced Doerman to three life sentences without parole, running consecutively with 16 years minimum sentencing for the assault charges.

Laura Doerman, the former wife of Chad Doerman, gave an emotional statement through a victim advocate, saying no punishment will bring her boys back.

"Having a guarantee that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars is what is best for my family," the statement reads.

She requested in her statement that everyone remember and talk about her sons, Clayton, Hunter and Chase for who they were before the events of June 15, 2023.

"Remember them as the three little boys who loved fishing, go-carting, and swimming. Remember them as the little boys who were always at the baseball fields or running around outside. Remember them as the boys who love to have fun and were inseparable from one another. Their lives are not only about what happened to them- they are so much more that that," the statement read.

WOW. Was that sudden, we go from talking a mental illness defense to this.

There can be nothing good that can result from this but it is good news. I can't even imagine the losses she deals with and that includes her husband who it is hard to count but their entire life changed that day thanks to him. Multiple losses that can't be imagined.

I've been vocal in hoping she was not standing by him and the reason is because of what he did and could do again. I don't know if they are divorced but hope she proceeds with that. Her business of course.

She may have even been instrumental in this plea and getting him to accept such or he could have realized by his attorneys he is likely never gong to be free no matter what he does.

Imo this man deserves death but pleading guilty, and owning up and multiple life sentences is a good outcome.

From all I've seen she will have the support of her community so glad for that.

This was one of the worst ones seen imo in recent times although worse is relative and I don't mean others are not--Zeke Best and pregnant mom is another, and all are horrible, doesn't have to be multiples, just lacking words to mean of the multiple, multiple losses here for her and her daughter.

I pray for healing which won't occur imo in a total nature ever, for her and her daughter. I noticed in her statement she uses the word finality where one would think some would us closure. There is no closure. Closure is b.s. I hate the word and I wish people would quit using it, and I suspect she feels the same. Therapists and all should quit using it. It's a hurtful word. People mean well and will say nothing can change this but at least you have some bit of closure. Nope, there is none.

I am glad they don't have to continue with this and go through it.

He was going away anyhow and maybe he recognized that. Even with the Miranda thing, the evidence here was overwhelming and even with a mental health claim or defense, he would have imo gone away forever.

It's a good outcome and I hope he also accepts it and doesn't rear his head in any way in the life sentences he is now going to serve. And I hope they are TRUE life sentences, these days well... One should never have to worry about such but crazy things go on with such these days.

I hope her and her daughter have all the support that can be given as to counseling and community. There isn't much more that can be asked for, nothing changes such tragedy.

This was a complete surprise but it's a good outcome.
