King and his mentally disabled aunt, Diamond Bynum, disappeared from Gary, Indiana on July 25, 2015. Bynum lived with her father and stepmother; King lived with his mother and visited his grandparents and aunt every weekend.

They were last seen at Bynum's home in the 500 block of Matthews Street at approximately 10:20 a.m., when Bynum's stepmother took a nap. When she woke up at 11:00 a.m., her daughter and grandson were gone. It's believed they walked away from the residence, possibly to go to a local store.

Bynum's family had moved to Gary from Hammond, Indiana in February 2015 and Bynum was still unfamiliar with the area; it's possible she and King became lost. Her family stated it's uncharacteristic of her to go more than a few blocks from home.

There were reported sightings of the pair in Gary, Hammond and Chicago after their disappearances, but none have been confirmed. Their family hopes they're still alive. Their cases remain unsolved.

I wonder why? Two people going missing is not that common I wouldn't think and especially missing and no sign of them or hint as to what happened after all this time.

King Walker was only 2 years old when he vanished from his home in Gary, Indiana on July 25, 2015. King may be in the company of his aunt, Diamond Bynum, who is also reported missing. Both King and Diamond were last seen leaving a family home in the area. The two never returned and haven’t been seen since.

This is such a strange case. If the aunt had taken him at her young age I doubt she could stay off the radar or would know how without help. And if they both disappeared, to where??? She was a full sized adult and young one I would think without life experience to go into hiding. it just makes no sense. They were in town in a city for goodness sakes weren't they? I mean of course they could both run into foul play or go with the wrong person but still with no trace, sign, suspicion of anyone and no one seeing these two get in a car or some other such thing...? I guess anything is possible but it is an odd one... Imo.

They don't believe she kidnapped him...

“At first, we believed they walked about because Diamond is known to wander and will get lost and not be able to find her way back,” said Walker at the time.

I don't think she did either and never have but am saying I can't see that because she isn't the age or type to be able to do that and it is about the only scenario I can imagine where possibly they are alive unfortunately. I probably didn't word it right but I was saying the opposite, that I don't think it is a possibility so where did they go or end up?

The family of 2-year-old King Walker and his aunt, Diamond Bynum said Gary, Indiana police aren't doing enough.

Bynum has special needs. She and Walker were last seen in 2015, visiting a relative's home in Gary.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Sunday marks another difficult Mother's Day for a small group of women looking for their children who have disappeared from the Chicago area.

They gathered in Daley Plaza to tell their stories in hopes of putting a spotlight on these cold cases. It's become a painful tradition for these mothers, who have gathered every year for the past three years to remind the community that they have not given up hope of finding their children.

They prayed and made a heartbreaking plea to the public for help.

Among the mothers present was Karen Phillips, the mother of missing pregnant postal worker Kierra Coles, who disappeared in October 2018.

Coles was three months pregnant when she vanished in the Chatham neighborhood. Her last known movement was captured on surveillance footage.

Also on hand was LaShann Walker, whose daughter Diamond Bynum and grandson King Walker disappeared nearly a decade ago while visiting a relative's home in Gary, Indiana.

Both families are frustrated with law enforcement and what they say is the lack of effort to locate their children.

"It's so stressful not knowing where my child is," said Phillips. "It's hurtful because I don't know if she's being harmed, if she's OK. Is she cold? Is she hot? Did she have a baby? Do I have a grandchild out there somewhere? It really takes a hold on my mental."

"It's not knowing whether they're being harmed or not, whether they're still in this world or not," said Walker. "It is the worst feeling anybody could ever have."

These missing cases are still active, and the families are asking the public to share their stories in hopes someone could come forward with new information.
 
I can't see where she could have vanished as well and be managing to take care of a child and so odds seem not good, and yes, certainly after this long. Why though LE seem to be doing nothing and this and other cases, I can't fathom.
 
I am going out on a limb here. Since Diamond has special needs, she most likely is/was receiving some sort of financial assistance from the federal government or state. It seems LE and a bank where the account is at would be able to track any activity on her account, when and where, and by whom, any withdrawals or transfers were made.

King would now be almost a teen and could talk about Aunt Diamond and where they had been if he was able.

Yes and so that means most likely neither is alive and well right? Sadly. This is an odd case for two to go missing with no trace. I know there is evidence they were not at home at least had not been but it is hard to fathom what happened or where they went to after and the trail went cold. He was young and did she just trust the wrong person....??

Families of several missing people in northwest Indiana are demanding answers in cases that span nearly a decade, with some dating back to 2015 and others as recent as last fall.


In response to a press conference held by the families, Gary Police Chief Derrick Cannon released a statement addressing a widely circulated list of missing persons.

"The Gary Police Department is aware of a list of missing people circulating on social media. Much of the content of this publicized list is inaccurate, due to outdated information."

The department said it is working with state partners to review the list and plans to release an updated and accurate version by Friday.


Among the cases is that of King Walker, who was just a toddler when he disappeared in 2015. His case remains unsolved.
 
I think something just sounds odd about the circumstances of their disappearance. They just left the house and were not seen because the occupants were asleep?
