Cult(?) Leader of "Love Has Won" Found Dead - 7 Arrests

Untitled.jpg

Amy Carlson, 45, who was known as “Mother God” by her followers, was found dead in a home in the tiny, rural town of Moffat on Wednesday, April 28, according to arrest affidavits for seven people, who are each charged with abuse of a corpse.

A follower told investigators he knew the woman as Lia Carlson, and a Saguache County sheriff's corporal wrote in the affidavits that Carlson is believed to be the leader of the group. It's unclear why the follower provided the name Lia.

So she drank and got high and appeared online that way and yet minions could not drink?? She worked at McDonald's prior to this? Married three times by her 30s? And her followers believed she was someone special??

I wonder how they explain her death? I mean she has lived for 19 billions of years so I assume she was to never die??

I guess she died of plain old age then? I suppose I shouldn't say that :)
When was her birthday?.

I completely disagree that people base their cults on what denomination they were brought up in. They have wild ideas. That's why they are a cult. He mentioned "Southern Baptists". That made me angry. We get vilified alot and I am tired of it.
He mentioned Catholics, Baptists, etc. I personally think we see a ton of LDS, more than any.

He is from Utah and I feel he has his reasons, including getting along in his area where he was LE, that he says he does not think LDS is more common. I don't necessarily agree with him but I can believe most such groups start with some basis they were taught in whatever religion and then take it to an extreme level and add their own twists.

I can tell you many people do not agree with him because people comment all of the time on how commonly it seems to be LDS.

While it’s completely disturbing to me that this woman called herself a god, it’s also disturbing to me that these people were following her. Why? What was in it for them? Were they just so lost in life that they were looking for anything to fill the hole? So lost that they couldn’t see the absolute hypocrisy in her teaching?

I'd like to know how the two women bought her a new car. Was the money used money that the group raked in and scammed and some members were part of her scam or did they have jobs or a trust account? I doubt they had jobs in Hawaii as people there did not want them there. Or were they lost souls that fell for this b.s.? They did enshrine her body and decorate it...

I try to be fair but I don't see how people fall into these groups/leaders. If born into the group or young I can see it easier, one would not know any different. I have a hard time fathoming an adult falling into such. I drove a Sunday School teacher perhaps to her edge when I was young with questions about things that made no sense to me and she did not have answers that satisfied me. Even so, I do believe in God and am Christian but those questions do remain--but my point is I don't think I would ever just take the word of a whacky leader and belief system like this lady's.

well, they (or she?) believed that she was Donald Trump's kid...so there's that.
She'd be doing DNA and after the $$ if that was the case instead of scamming on the internet, etc. One would think her mommy would have sued the baby daddy or bribed and she would have grown up with money rather than be working at McDonald's. LOL. I am sorry but she sounds like a total nut case. Scary though that anyone could find her believable and join.

very scary! Nut jobs everywhere!

Amy Carlson aka Mother God

Ms Carlson - Mother God - is believed by her group to be 19 billion years old and to have birthed all of creation. Despite her age, the members also believe she is the child of former president Donald Trump. They believe she exists at a "higher consciousness level" than normal humans, and will eventually lead a group of 144,000 people into the "fifth dimension" in some sort of ascendant journey.

The "144,000" figure is significant in a number of Abrahamic religions and off-shoots. In Christianity, the number represents the total number of representatives from the 12 tribes of Israel who worship God during the events depicted in the Book of Revelation.

It is unclear when Ms Carlson died, but a photo of the group’s leader unconscious in the arms of Mr Castillo was taken on 14 April.

Two days later, Ms Carlson's family requested an ambulance, claiming she was having trouble breathing and that her eyes were rolling back into her head. According to a source speaking with The Guru Magazine, the ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital but EMTs were told Ms Carlson was not there.

Ms Carlson claimed to eschew any kind of pharmaceutical drug or non-natural medical treatment, which may have influenced her members' refusal to hand her over to an ambulance.

A spokesman for the group claimed in one of their daily livestreams that Ms Carlson only medicated through natural means - alcohol and marijuana - which led her to frequently appear on streams drunk and high.

A former “Father God” member of the group, Andrew Profaci, told Vice News in a documentary released in March that Ms Carlson became bitter and abusive after nightly bouts of heavy drinking. Mr Profaci eventually left the group and began speaking out against it.

Numerous videos exist showing Ms Carlson drunk, slurring, and making bizarre claims, including that she was speaking with deceased comedian Robin Williams.

Despite Ms Carlson's use of alcohol and marijuana, the group's spokeswoman, who goes by the name "Aurora," said drug use was prohibited for members.

In a photo taken three weeks before she is believe to have died, Ms Carlson appears emaciated, with thinning hair and a purplish hue to her skin.

Her condition may have been caused by the large amounts of colloidal silver she was ingesting, The Daily Beast reported, citing a county coroner.. Colloidal silver is sometimes used in dietary supplements, but there is no evidence the silver has any medicinal benefit, and - if taken by mouth over a long period of time - can cause the skin and organs to turn blue-grey, and in very serious circumstances cause seizures and organ failure.

The group's Facebook account issued a statement following the discovery of the body.

“We thank everyone for their Full Surrender to the Divine Plan. Mom will give you the next step in Your Heart in every Present MOMent you’re there, MOM ENTers. The team are respectfully honoring the process law enforcement require and we are grateful for their diligence in protecting Humanity. Mom deeply loves Our law enforcement officers as She does each and everyone of Her children,” the Facebook statement said.

Ms Carlson's family said she started the Love Has Won group after leaving her job at McDonalds and ending her third marriage when she was in her 30s.

This just gets worse.
What the fricking fudge??!! Sad how many delusional peeps there are.

‘Love Has Won’ Cult Members Officially Charged After Leader’s Mummified Remains Found

Seven cult members have been officially charged after the mummified body of their leader of the “Love Has Won” cult was found. Deputies in Saguache County found Amy Carlson’s mummified body in a home in Crestone after a call from the father of a 2-year-old who said his son was being held in the home.

The cult seems to have first been founded in Crestone but it is believed that is not where Carlson died, even though that’s where her mummified body was found decorated with glitter and Christmas lights. Carlson had been ill for some time, and authorities say foul play is not suspected in her passing.

Seven cult members were arrested after the discovery: Christopher Royer, Sarah Rudolph, Jason Castillo, John Robertson, Obduia Franco, Ryan Kramer and Karin Raymond. They face charges related to abuse of a corpse and child abuse.

I should not make light of this but I have to say I can't get past the glitter and Christmas lights, it just sounds cheap and gaudy and not so reverent.

In all seriousness though, the defense is going to be I imagine that in their "belief system" they were not abusing a corpse but doing what they believed should be done for this god or esteemed leader after her passing.

They should look more into the fraud and scamming of people and the nonprofit. Imo. I hope they are.

Charges dropped for all seven 'Love Has Won' sect members

The mother of a religious sect's leader whose mummified body was found in the group’s Moffat headquarters last spring expressed dismay that charges have been dropped for all seven members of the sect allegedly involved with transporting her remains.

Linda Haythorne says District Attorney Alonzo Payne doesn’t want to deal with the bizarre case of the death of her daughter, Amy Carlson who led the group Love Has Won.

“They’re trying to push it under the rug. There’s still a question in our minds that Amy was murdered,” Haythorne said.

The self-appointed replacement for "Mother God," Jason Castillo, who calls himself “Father God,” has started a new group he has dubbed “Joy Rains.” Prosectutors dropped charges of tampering with human remains and two misdemeanor counts of child abuse against Castillo and two others. Charges were also dropped against another sect member that had alleged abuse of a corpse and two misdemeanor counts of child abuse. Court records show that three other members of the Love has Won also had charges stemming from the case dropped.

OK I have to agree, something doesn’t seem right here.
