On Monday, July 27, 2020, the Georgetown Police Department is actively searching for a missing child, 2-year-old CRISTOBAL L. LOPEZ. The Georgetown Police Department received information today that Cristobal has been missing since sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The preliminary investigation has determined that Cristobal was last seen on the evening of July 25, 2020, at 15 South Front Street, Georgetown while in the custody of the child's cousin. On Sunday, July 26, 2020 at approximately 500 a.m. the cousin discovered that Cristobal had been taken by his mother 26-year-old ANGELINA L. LOPEZ of Seaford, DE. Angelina had made arrangements to stay at her cousin's house for the evening to visit with her child. Angelina has an active court order indicating that the child is to remain in the custody of the cousin and Angelina is to have no unlawful contact or unsupervised visits with Cristobal

It may be minor but I am going to take the fact that she took a car seat from the cousin's as a good sign that she cares about his safety and wellbeing. Prayers they are found safely.

AMBER Alert: Toddler kidnapped in Delaware is in ‘imminent danger’

Authorities have issued an AMBER Alert for a toddler boy who was taken from the home of a custodial relative this weekend.

NBC Philadelphia reports that Cristobal Lopez, 2, was last seen at his cousin’s home in Georgetown, Delaware, on Saturday night. The toddler reportedly went missing sometime before Sunday morning and is believed to be with his mother, who has a court order prohibiting her from unsupervised contact with the child. Police have reportedly said they believe the child is in imminent danger.


Authorities have not yet released a vehicle description, but Angelina Lopez is believed to have taken a light blue and black child’s car seat from her cousin’s home.

Police have opened an investigation into the disappearance of 2 year old Cristobal L. Lopez.


Georgetown Detective Joseph Melvin told WRDE there was a call for a child abuse complaint on June 5.

"The victim was her son Bristol," Melvin said. So, after she was arrested she was released with bail conditions that she could only have contact with Cristobal through supervised custody so that is why we have concerns for Aristocrat's safety right now." ]

Due to the arrest, Angelina was issued a court order which states that Cristobal is to stay in the custody of his cousin. Angelina was visiting her son over the past weekend at the cousin's home. The two disappeared the next morning.


Georgetown Police ask anyone with information to contact them. Any new details could help solve this case.

"We just want to keep pushing the photographs out of Cristobal and his mother," Melvin said. "If they see anybody that looks like them, please call 911 immediately. The faster we can get someone out there to investigate of course there are better chances of identifying them."

Detective Melvin emphasized due to the past history that Cristobal’s safety is of utmost concern, so if you have information make sure you call right away.

Yes, it was really confusing. Odd case. They have not even put out a vehicle description and yet it is an Amber Alert . To me this almost sounds custody related and there sure seems to be a lot of it lately. If he is in such danger then where is the vehicle description? Yet she took a car seat...

On Monday, Delaware State Police released surveillance photos of two people as well as a white vehicle. The vehicle was spotted in the area of East Market and North Race streets in Georgetown, Delaware, on July 26 around 1 a.m. They are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the two people and vehicle in the photos.
