Cassie was last seen in Stuttgart, Arkansas sometime after 6:00 p.m. of September 14, 2014, after spending the day at a demolition derby with friends.

A short time after she arrived home, she left again, telling her mother she was going to the store to pick up some things. She had a black LG smart phone with no charger. She never returned home and has never been heard from again.

It's uncharacteristic of Cassie to leave without warning; her mother said they always kept in touch. She lived with her mother and her mother's fiance at the time of her disappearance; her father lived in Oklahoma. She was home-schooled and working to obtain a GED certificate. Little evidence is available as to her fate.

Her mother's fiance has been the main POI. Here's an interesting article about the case as of last year:

"He says Judy was sick, he said that he was in the back bedroom with her and he never saw Cassie. He said she came in, grabbed something, she was there for less than five minutes. He walked outside and a couple of minutes later she was gone," Lafferty explained.

Back in September Kimsey, Cassie's mother told a different story than Rhodes told while in jail, about what he was doing that night.

"He was in the house, and he was cooking dinner, that's what he was getting ready to do whenever she came home, was cook supper because I was really sick," Kimsey said.

After eight years, Stuttgart teen Cassie Compton’s disappearance remains a mystery

It has been eight years since Cassie Compton disappeared without a trace.

Detective Shawn Watson now investigates Cassie’s disappearance for the Stuttgart Police Department. He said the department still follows up on leads involving the case.

“New leads do not necessarily mean new suspects. All leads are followed up on, though not all of them have helped our case,” Watson said.

Nine years later, community members seek answers in Stuttgart teen Cassie Compton’s disappearance

Nearly a decade has passed since the disappearance of Stuttgart teenager Cassie Compton, who was just 15 years old at the time. Today, she would be 24 years old. Her last contact was on Sunday, September 14, 2014.

Tina Storz is a private investigator with Halos Investigations, Inc., a private Mississippi firm that investigates cases of missing or trafficked children. She has been looking into Cassie’s disappearance since 2015 and met with Stuttgart police last year.

“The case was supposed to be opened back up by the new chief of police in Stuttgart. I met with him, and we went over a few things to try to get the case going back in full force,” Storz said.

Storz still follows up on leads in the investigation and even did a podcast about Cassie’s disappearance with KATV news reporter Kaila Lafferty in 2019.

“I am not going to give up, and Halos Investigations is not going to give up until that day comes,” Storz said.

Tina believes someone in the community knows the truth about what happened to Cassie. She encourages anyone with information that could be a tip to reach out.

“I want the people in Stuttgart to know that it only takes one person who knows what happened to Cassie Compton to come forward. They can stay anonymous,” Storz said.

The Stuttgart Police Department still follows up on all leads in Cassie’s case. Stuttgart Police Chief David Parker said that just last week, investigators followed up on a call from a woman in Little Rock who claimed to have seen Cassie in a Little Rock business.

Opened back up?. It shouldn't have been closed. No missing person, Unsolved murder, UID.Case SHOULD EVER be closed.

yeah I thought the same when i read it. most agencies nowadays at least use the "line" that no unsolved case is ever closed or something like that... You don't close a case without answers! They used to be called cold cases not closed cases. Semantics. Dumb to ever say closed UNLESS resolved with answers. I mean I'm sure we knew the cold ones weren't getting worked on at all or much either but at least they shold know better than to close a case or say it was closed and they need to be convinced to reopen a closed one...

The Disturbing Disappearance of Cassie Kay Compton

On September 14, 2014, Cassie Compton, a 15-year-old girl from Stuttgart, Arkansas, was hanging out at her friend Hunter’s house- her home away from home.

Cassie was just months away from her 16th birthday, and despite her troubles at home, which were plentiful, she was trying to figure out a way to grow up in the world.

Hunter drove her home that night, dropping her off before making the 30-minute drive back to his place. Cassie’s mother, Judy Compton Kimsey, was sick in bed but heard Cassie come in. Her mom’s fiance, Brandon Lee Rhodes, was preparing to cook dinner.

Brandon said Cassie stayed for a few minutes and then left again, but he was unsure where she was going. He did remember that she had her cell phone in her hand, but was known to never have a charger with her.

Cassie walked out the door that night, and would never be seen or heard from again.

Community marks 10 years since Stuttgart teen Cassie Compton disappeared, renewed efforts for answers

Saturday, Sept. 14, marked a decade since Stuttgart teen Cassie Compton disappeared, leaving her family, friends, and the community with many unanswered questions.

Cassie was just 15 years old at the time. Today, she would be 25 years old. Her last contact was on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.

Final moments before Cassie Compton disappeared

Summer was winding down, and school was back in session. Cassie enjoyed the start of a new season by attending the Arkansas County Demolition Derby with a friend in DeWitt on Saturday, Sept. 13. It was the last community event she attended.

What We Know,” a website dedicated to finding Cassie verified by police, claims Cassie spent the night with her friend and returned home the day after the derby. At the time of her disappearance, Cassie was living with her mother, Judy Compton, and Judy’s fiancé, Brandon Lee Rhodes. The couple became engaged in 2012, but they have since separated. Cassie’s father, Roy Compton, lived in Oklahoma at the time.

Cassie reportedly texted her friend to tell him she was going out to get cigarettes shortly after he dropped her off. Judy said she never heard Cassie leave the house to buy cigarettes.

On Monday, Sept. 15, Judy realized Cassie was gone. After unsuccessful calls to Cassie’s phone, Judy contacted the authorities. Since then, authorities have conducted numerous physical searches and have followed up on countless leads. Unfortunately, the Stuttgart community and Cassie’s family are still in the dark about her whereabouts.

Renewed efforts in investigation

Tina Storz is a private investigator with Halos Investigations, Inc., a private Mississippi firm that investigates cases of missing or trafficked children. She has investigated Cassie’s disappearance since 2015.

Fresh eyes looking into Cassie’s disappearance have given Storz renewed hope. She recently shared her case folder with the Stuttgart Police Department.

“I have given them our whole file from Halos, which I had never done before,” Storz said. “After almost 10 years of looking for Cassie Compton, my heart finally felt at ease due to the new detective on the case.”

Storz said she wants Stuttgart police to re-question all suspects and those close to Cassie.

“I hope they start from the beginning and bring everybody back in,” Storz said.

Storz believes someone in the community knows what happened to Cassie. She encourages anyone with information that could be a tip to reach out.

“I believe whoever did what they did to Cassie Compton is locally there,” Storz said. “I think people are afraid to come forward, which is the problem.”

Stuttgart Police Chief David Parker said the department has partnered with Michael Knowlton, a retired homicide and major crimes detective, to investigate missing persons’ cases, including Cassie’s.

“There was a tip received this year that was immediately looked into. That information is still being investigated,” Parker said. “All leads are investigated.”https://www.baptist-health.com/location/baptist-health-medical-center-stuttgart/

I was just thinking about this case a couple of days ago. I’d like to know more about what happened to the ex fiancé?
