Family pleads for public's help finding missing 53-year-old single mother last seen in DC
A family is now pleading for help from the public to help find Antoinette Forbes, 53, a single mother who has been missing for days.

Aileen Forbes is Antoinette's sister, and was fighting back tears as she told 7News how concerned she is at this sudden disappearance.

"If you've seen Antoinette, please come forward. Any information that you have can be invaluable to us for bringing my sister, who is, she's my beloved sister, a beloved daughter and mother, colleague, friend. We want her to come home," Forbes said through tears. "Please come forward if you know anything."

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) posted a missing person notice on their X account, stating Antoinette Forbes was last seen Friday, Sept. 4, in her neighborhood on the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue, Northwest, near the American University campus.

Aileen Forbes said she immediately sounded the alarm once she learned her sister was missing.

"Antoinette is a single mother and her son, her 10-year-old son, Nathan is her world. Nathan is the center of Antoinette's world. She would never, ever leave him. She also has a beloved dog, and our dog Max was found in the house alone," Forbes said. "Honestly, we're in shock. We can't even believe this is happening. It's unreal. Antoinette is an incredibly competent and responsible individual, so for us to lose touch with her, there's clearly something wrong."

Forbes said the two last spoke on the phone just days ago.

"For her to be missing, we can't comprehend it, quite honestly," Forbes said. "Last time I spoke with my sister was completely unextraordinary. We have a very close relationship. We were planning our Christmas vacation, and we were going to nail down flights the following day."

That follow-up conversation never happened.

7News saw MPD patrol cars in front of Antoinette's home throughout the day Tuesday.

Now, Aileen Forbes said she is holding out hope her sister will be found.

"We're trying to wrap our minds around it right now, and we're not thinking about a worse case. We want to bring her home," Forbes said. "Where is my sister? Where is she? Has anyone out there seen her or seen anything suspicious?"

‘Bring Antoinette home': Family marks 2 weeks since missing DC mom's disappearance

For the last 15 days, Antoinette Forbes' loved ones, friends and colleagues have experienced a sudden emptiness that they hope will be filled soon.

Saturday marked two weeks since her family last spoke with her.

Now that the search to bring Forbes home has stretched just beyond two weeks, her loved ones said they’re still asking the public for help, writing, in part, “ We cannot know which photograph, which camera, which conversation or which person will provide the information that helps find Antoinette. And that is why, fifteen days later, we need you with us. Please help us bring Antoinette home.”

I don't have a media link. Read this on Reddit.

Two months before Antoinette Forbes disappeared from her Washington, D.C., neighborhood, the Eli Lilly vice president stood before a Maryland judge and urged him not to clear the first-degree assault conviction of the former boyfriend who had brutally attacked her.

Forbes, 53, told Montgomery County Circuit Judge David W. Lease that Russell P. Ashford, 65, the father of her 10-year-old son, should not be given a second chance to eventually have the case expunged from his record.

“Specifically, the injuries I suffered from his assault so many years ago are permanent,” Forbes said at the July 9 hearing, according to an audio recording obtained by The Baltimore Sun. “I’ve had three surgeries on this eye, and I still can’t see properly. I have a titanium plate in my cheek. I have screws in my jaw and my teeth. And my finger is not healed properly.”

“The eye especially is debilitating to some degree,” Forbes said at the hearing.

This month, Forbes disappeared. Ashford is now a person of interest in her disappearance, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation but not authorized to speak publicly. Police have not charged him.

And now she's dead. Nice job, judge!:mad::mad:

Missing DC mom's loved ones mark 1 month since disappearance

Antoinette Forbes' loved ones and friends have been working to search and to bring her home for the last month.

Her sister, Aileen Forbes, said this has been one of the most difficult chapters for her family — especially in not knowing she is.

“It’s really challenging to talk about these past several weeks,” Aileen Forbes said. “In many ways, it’s still unbelievable that something so sinister could happen to someone so good and kind and beloved as my sister.”

She explained the pain and suffering she and her family, along with Antoinette Forbes' close friends, have had to endure for the last month.

With each passing day, her family and friends continued to post her image in hopes that someone may have spotted her or may know where she is so she could be reunited with her family and her son.

“Antoinette, is that we love you, and we’re not going to give up,” Aileen Forbes said. “[…] It’s still hard to wrap my mind around, but I really, really miss her.”

D.C. police said the case remains an active investigation. Anyone with information about Antoinette Forbes’ whereabouts is being asked to contact police.

These kind of cases make me sick to my stomach, as I say many many times. She told everyone what was going on and still - there was no protection for her.
