ANNA KEPNER: Teen found dead on Carnival cruise ship *ARREST!* (3 Viewers)

Anna went back to room about 6:30, stepson at 7. Mom and dad apparently about 7:30. Teens room was directly across the hall from them but she (stepmom) went to sleep never checked on them. In the above Law and Crime one, didn't finish last night so just watching rest now.
She apparently then left the room at some point to go to see the grandparents in the casino. Not sure what time that was though.

Yeah, stepmom wasn't aware of that though, she was sound asleep. Not that she would have cared if she had went back out.

More here. Stepson didn't get his dose of med two different evenings on the cruise. Parents did never check on him or them that night. Just watching it myself... Mom of perp is on stand.

Is the lack of meds why he flipped out and killed Anna? It certainly could not have helped, especially with the "parents" in bed and asleep by 7.30 pm. WhoTF leaves there kids to their own devices on a cruise ship or any holiday?

So he had not been given his ADHD meds for two days. Then he flips out, kills Anna, hides her body and can't remember any of it. Adults on the trip did not supervise them. It's pretty obvious who should be blamed IMO. But the perpetrator may be convicted of manslaughter and be incarcerated, all the same.

I assume both of them were asleep but she definitely said she was. Lack of meds imo is a poor defense. I agree with the who does not supervise their kids on a SHIP with a bunch of strangers on board?! Right up there with putting them in a room together.

The night pill was for insomnia. I have heard from a person or two he confessed and that he was trying to shut Anna up. Was he irate at lack of sleep? And maybe her coming in and out of the cabin made him mad? OR was she screaming as he was on her or some such and he was trying to shut her up for that?

You know, I know all are different in grief but I just can't get over the lack of emotion from these parents and the grandparents, etc. I mean this was RECENT. And AWFUL.

Well, he always had the morning one but twice did not have the nighttime one, not sure if that was on consecutive days, don't recall if she said. One night he did not get it because she was asleep before he was. The other night, not sure the reason. I think she said he was already asleep so he didn't get it. I'd say if she has his meds it is HER job to ensure he takes them. He can't hardly do that if she has them and is asleep in her own cabin.

I think it is pretty clear they went right into defense mode. He claims not to remember which I don't believe for ONE MINUTE. Mom gets him hospitalized and makes some kind of psych appt., they immediately are going into defense mode, trying to give a "reason" he did this and coudln't help himself, etc...

Dad also never checked on them. I mean come on. 7 or so and on a cruise ship, and a roomful of teens, one as young as 14 and you leave them to their own devices?
I had friends that were like that. they would leave their teen boys alone and do their own thing and then have the nerve to complain when hotels would no longer let them stay there because security had to be called on their teens too many times.

I think the lack of meds is just a cop out and had absolutely nothing to do with him flipping out.

I watched Brian Entin’s video on this case last night and when he mentioned they said that he didn’t get his meds, that just ticked me off. That is no excuse for murdering his stepsister. Not at all.

That's asking for it and even worse if in another country but bad if here in the US too. I've seen people in huge hotels with many floors be say in the bar or the room and their younger kids are out running all over the place and downstairs and you name it. That strikes fear in me to no end. What is always on my mind is any freak could pull one of them into their hotel room and you'd never be able to find them/or who. Nowadays there might be cameras but when I saw it I'd about bet there weren't. People do it in this apartment building too and some are PRETTY LITTLE kids. I have th same fear for them and there are NO cameras. I mean I'm talking two or three years old even sometimes.

Yeah we know the 14 year old was out taking pictures on the boat. Alone. They didn't know that either I'm sure. Like with your story, it's like when teens, some parents think well they are old enough to take care of selves. Ha. They need more supervision then than ever almost--in some ways anyhow.

I just can't get over their decision here. She said on the stand their travel agent suggested the arrangement. She wasn't very firm in that answer and I kind of doubt it. She more hinted at it, I don't know how to explain it--she is on the stand in the last video I linked. Agent may have said this room slleeps 4, this room this many is allowed, etc. I doubt she said let the teen be all together. Grandma said the teens wanted to share a room, wasn't it her that said that? She kept her answers mostly short on the stand, advice of her atty. I'm sure.
