HCSO searching for missing 15-year-old girl from Katy
Authorities are searching for a young girl that has been missing from the Katy area since Friday.Alexa Jones, 15, was last seen in the 19400 block of Otter Trail in the Plantation Lakes subdivision of Katy on Friday, Dec. 13, at midnight.
Jones was last seen wearing a black shirt and grey sweatpants. She does wear prescribed vision glasses
EquuSearch joins search after AMBER Alert issued for missing Katy teen
The search for a missing Katy teen intensified Friday. An organization dedicated to helping find missing people lent its services to the cause.The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that Alexa Jones, 15, has been missing since Dec. 13. An AMBER Alert was issued Thursday afternoon. Texas EquuSearch was involved in the search, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Alexa was last seen around midnight on Dec. 13 on Otter Trail Court, which is in the Plantation Lakes neighborhood near the intersection of West Little York Road and Greenhouse Road. Her family said the night she went missing, they had a fun movie night at home and went to bed. They believe she then left through a side gate since cameras didn't pick up her leaving through the front door.
Alexa is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and about 130 pounds. She was wearing a black shirt, grey sweatpants and glasses when she was last seen.
Her family said the day after she went missing, she emailed her sister from a coffee shot saying she was "okay and safe." She reportedly said she wanted to "clear her mind" and that she would call her mom, but they said she never did.
Alexa's mother made a desperate plea for her daughter to come home.
"You don't know how much we miss you, how much this is tearing us up. We love you, we hope you're safe, just come home, please come home," her mother said. "Don't think about being in no kind of trouble, none of that, just come home, we will get you no matter where you are."
