Canada JUSTIN EVANS: Missing from Kilworthy, Ontario, Canada - 12 December 2020 - Age 22 *Found Deceased*

The family of a young man who has been missing for more than a month is pleading for information about his suspicious disappearance.

Justin Evans, 22, has been missing from his Kilworthy home, just south of Gravenhurst, since Dec. 12. His roommate at Muskoka Falls Camp and Trailer Park reported him missing two days later, said Evans’s stepfather, James Bolton.

It’s out of character for Evans to take off for long periods of time without contacting family, he said.

“He’d always let people know what he was doing,” he said. “We never expected anything was wrong until we got a call from his roommate’s mom, asking if we’d seen him.”

Family members showed up at Evans’s home to find it had been cordoned off with police tape.

The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch is overseeing the case with the assistance of Bracebridge OPP, the Muskoka Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services.

“Foul play has not been ruled out and it is considered criminally suspicious,” said OPP Det.-Insp. Matt Watson.

Evans loved the outdoors, said Bolton, who often went fishing with his stepson. Bolton even checked some of their favourite fishing spots, but couldn’t find anything.

The family has received an outpouring of support, much of it through the Bring Justin Evans Home Facebook group.

“It’s fantastic that there are so many people who are looking out for him,” Bolton said.

He described Evans as “fun to be around.” He enjoyed hanging out with his young cousins and “was always a joker.”

Evans’s disappearance “is still an active investigation and we continue to follow up on all leads,” Watson said, noting the search efforts have included aviation, canine and analytical services as well as the Emergency Response Team.

“We remain very concerned for Justin and his family is desperate to learn of his whereabouts,” Watson said. “I’m urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they may think it is, to contact (Bracebridge) OPP. If they wish to remain anonymous, then please call Crime Stoppers.”

Bolton echoed that plea.

“Something bad happened and we just want to find out what happened,” he said. “Come forward if you do know something.”

He said the family is “fearing the worst” and, while hoping for the best, they want closure.

“He may not come home safe, but we can put him to rest,” he said.

Evans is described as being six-foot-three, with a slim build, brown hair, blue eyes and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a grey winter coat, blue jeans and camo boots.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Information can also be submitted at www.crimestopperssdm.com.

I’m trying to figure out what could’ve happened? Justin’s best friend since childhood got so angry with him in the shed that he killed him? Why? Was his girlfriend feeding him negative thoughts? I know she didn’t like Justin. Well I guess now from Linda’s video, she didn’t like him because of Justin’s sister who used to go out with her boyfriend! Seriously!

Wow. That's Bud's dad right? It is not a murder charge but it's a start. Someone is covering up for someone in this case, I am just torn on for who, or how many.

I assume Linda if not informed already will be soon and doing a video on this.

Bud's dad claimed he went to Barrie with Bud but later it was said Bud went with Kiara and another couple. Maybe he obstructed justice some other way but that's one thing we have heard and know of. Perhaps he said other things that apply to the charge as well... Did Ken need an alibi he thought or did he think Bud did... Or did two or more need alibis... Etc.

My guess is stories were not gotten straight enough between all or it was found that Ken could not have went to Barrie with Bud so another story had to be fabricated... One thing Linda has pointed out is that stories seem to keep changing...

It is hard to say, and I am not accusing anyone but you don't lie about a criminal case and get charged with obstruction without a reason to lie/obstruct...

I just watched Linda’s YouTube on it and I think that Ken is Buds grandfather. None of them have been able to keep their story straight and I’ve been wondering if Ken was covering up. Now he’s been arrested for it.

They refer to his grandparents a lot as his mom and dad since they raised him I guess. For me, this arrest does not help me decide who did it but I definitely think one or all in this family and Kiara are likely involved in some capacity. Ken was covering up for himself or for someone it seems.

She was really quick this time .. not surprised of an arrest however questions why charges weren't pressed on one or two others as well.
I almost didn't watch it when I saw it was only six minutes or so, figured she would just share the article but I forget that woman can pack quite a bit into a short period of time. I did watch it before I posted it. I am sure she will likely do another within a day or two.

Nearly six months after Justin Evans disappeared from his Kilworthy home, his body found in the nearby woods, and a charge laid in connection with the case, police now say they do not believe they are investigating a homicide.

“The circumstances of the cause of death have changed,” said Det. Insp. Matt Watson of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

“We don’t think at this point that he was murdered,” he explained.

What??? They allegedly had a scene of some sort in the shed, multiple people have lied, he was not found in the shed, and more....

Exactly! Why in the world did they say that it looked like a crime scene in the shed? What the heck is going on?
And arrested grandpa for obstruction of justice? Yeah the shed was said to be bad. Very doubtful to be natural causes so are they hinting at suicide?

If he did something to himself, for argument's sake, how did he get from the shed to where he was found? I even wondered previously if he could have stumbled out if someone harmed him and then died in the woods but there would have been a blood trail, etc. And would the others cover up a suicide? .

Perhaps cause of death is something they think could be self inflicted like a gun shot, overdose (but that would leave no crime scene really would it?)..

I'm not buying it and I don't think anyone is going to just accept this without further explanation imo. And a GOOD explanation for it.

Waaaay out in speculation land - perhaps an overdose occurred, and a frantic revival effort or maybe a panicked attempt of getting rid of evidence of drug use occurred in the shed? Maybe the intent of the obstruction relates to other things that could have been going on.

Or maybe the officer was being very specific in the “murder” terminology. Could it be an accidental death with a panicked coverup?

These things have crossed my mind. The one thing that bothers me is they had to have removed him one would think from the shed to where he was found. I just would think there would be a trail forensically and/or dogs would catch it.

I can believe a cover up though in some ways. They lied about a previous altercation between the son and the grandpa.

I have a hard time though believing an accident as they insinuate the shed was a terrible scene.

They could be playing "semantics" and rather than using terms like homicide or murder maybe they think it was more negligent or manslaughter, etc. It I guess could also be a tactic by LE announcing this but that seems the most unlikely.

I don't know, there is so much wrong in this case or that is suspicious, but a panicked cover-up could cause the lies and such I guess... But he also was found close to the property in woods that bordered the property and yet he was not found with searches for months on end...

The family strongly disagrees with the police and I can't say that I disagree and they know more than we do. There are too many questions in this case for this kind of statement by the detective.

I watched the clip last night just before bed. I didn’t get home until after seven! I was hungry.

Back to the clip, this is exactly what I thought Linda was going to be reporting. There were no surprises. I have to wonder if maybe LE is keeping suspensions under their vest? I hope so because it just doesn’t make sense.
