Maya “May” Millete, 39, was last seen Thursday evening in her Chula Vista home near the San Miguel Ranch area, according to her loved ones. Family and friends said her car is still at her home and her phone has been going to voicemail since her disappearance.

Hospitals, jails and morgues have been contacted by the woman’s kin, but they said she has not been found at any of those locations.

Maya and Larry Millete are high school sweethearts married for 21 years with three children — ages 4, 9, and 11.

Maya has been missing from her Chula Vista home since last week. Millete says they had argued the night before.

"We had problems this year, up and downs," Millete told ABC 10News.

He said his wife has left before for the night to blow off steam, but he became worried when she didn't show up for their daughter's birthday on Sunday.

"If she didn't have her car, a friend would have to pick her up. That's the only reason I was like, 'maybe she's wine tasting or hiking with a friend,'" says Millete.

Maya works as a defense contractor at Naval Base San Diego and didn't show up for work on Monday.

"I called her boss, she didn't even log in. And that's the other alarming part, because work for her is like a party ... that's her outlet," Millete says.

Millete says he will continue to search, anxiously waiting.

They either have a New law similar to that here in Oregon, or they’re trying to get one passed. I can’t remember the status of it right now. But basically it is a good law my opinion because it takes away firearms from those who have been involved in any domestic violence..
it's a very good law

This morning they said when he gave the guns to family and friends they were considered illegal gun transfers. There were also some photos found of their boy with illegal guns, ie assault rifle like an ak and hundreds or maybe thousands of bullets. Because he had purchased two additional firearms since LE’s original search warrant, they consider his possession of a firearm a danger to the community.

I would have to agree with them on that.

Husband says he has searched for missing wife Maya Millete

Every week for months now, family, friends, and even strangers have turned up to search for Maya Millete.

Many have wondered why her husband, Larry Millete, hasn’t joined those searches. In an ongoing conversation with ABC 10News anchor Vanessa Van Hyfte, Larry sent the following.

“Unlike the search parties. I visited likely places she would visit, but to no avail. Wishful thinking I guess. I rely mostly on the authorities because they are the subject matter experts and have dealt with these situations before.”

He may be searching for something, but in my opinion he's searching for an alibi.

Wouldn't authorities have asked him about those places? Seems like those would be the first places they would search IF he had told them of those places.

seems like one of the first questions they would ask would be something about places she frequented or were places she might go to get away, etc.

I wish this exchange was on camera to see the look on his face when telling this tale.
Mmmm hmmm. Pretty sure there's a reason he's only communicating with a reporter (seemingly via email) and no one else.
Interesting that his lawyer hasn't instructed him to shut his damn mouth there too.

No kidding. I can only hope and pray for the sake of her children and family that even though it may take some time, they eventually charge the perp as they have done in Morphew. We actually know more in the Maya case (like about the bedroom and the door and more) than in Morphew and they have done it there without a body. And hopefully then a conviction results.

No kidding. His remarks about the firearms too...

Interesting the part about his 4 year old son standing on a table surrounded by all his firearms AND ammo, etc. He says all were obtained legally. LE says they were not all registered, he says they were. He also says how would LE know he had them if not getting the info from the fact they were registered and listed? Huh? They have a picture for one. Is he trying to say they belonged to someone else without actually saying that?

Either way, parents I know certainly would not take a pic of a 4 year old like that in such a situation.

they very well might have been registered...but to somebody else, maybe.

This guy is going to get himself convicted, the way he's going.

Woe is he!

I support responsible adults being able to have a firearms to protect themselves, but he’s not a responsible adult and people heard gunshots from his house and he does not need to have any firearms. Sorry not sorry.

I am in support of responsible people owning guns. I see no need for an arsenal though except maybe in the case of if someone was a collector of older models.

I watched a short DutyRon YT and he said the husband tracked Maya's every movement, a sure sign of control, and tracked every penny she spent, checked out the work place to be sure she had no male contact, etc. Yet she goes missing and only then did he care less to track her or know where she is...

so now we know he knows where she is :sigh:

Good points! And we've seen similar behavior in sooooooooooooooo many missing cases where women were with possessive men!
