A toddler from Walnut Hills has been missing for more than a week.

Three-year-old Nylo Lattimore was last seen around noon on Dec. 4, police said Saturday evening. Nylo lives on Melrose Avenue in Walnut Hills.

Police say the circumstances of Nylo's disappearance are unknown.

Family members of Nylo say he is the son of a woman who was found dead near the Purple People Bridge on Saturday.

According to an affidavit, 29-year-old Nyteisha Lattimore was stabbed by her boyfriend, Desean Brown, 20, with an unknown weapon in the 2600 block of Melrose Avenue.

Police say missing 3-year-old is son of woman found dead near Purple People Bridge

Officers say a 3-year-old, who has been missing since Dec. 4, is the son of a woman who was found dead near the Purple People Bridge Saturday.

Police say Nylo Lattimore has been missing from his home in Walnut Hills.

Nyteisha Lattimore, 29, is the mother of is Nylo, officers said.

According to an affidavit, 20-year-old Desean Brown stabbed his girlfriend, Nyteisha, with an unknown weapon in the 2600 block of Melrose Ave.

Officers say Nylo is missing from the same residence.

Family members state that since Nyteisha never went anywhere without her son, they are afraid that her son witnessed his mother being killed.

It is unclear as to why Nyteisha was killed.

Court documents say Brown is facing one count of murder.

Officers are still investigating.

Search for missing son of murdered woman enters third week
It has been more than three weeks since anyone last saw three-year-old Nylo Lattimore. The missing child’s mother, Nyteisha Lattimore, was found murdered around the same time Nylo vanished.

On Sunday, search and rescue groups gathered once again to search for clues, hoping to find the young boy. Volunteers helped North Star International and Ohio LandSAR search the banks of the Ohio River near the Great Miami River for most of the day. The search concluded the most recent sweep of the river.

The previous week's search produced some evidence, as well.

"Items were found the last search, they have been turned over to Cincinnati Police Homicide investigation for the investigation,” said Campbell.

No further details about the items or sonar hits have been released, but the items are being tested to see if anything matches Nylo's DNA.

At this point, North Star International’s search efforts are over. If that changes, the Cincinnati Police Department will continue, as well.

Hamilton County prosecutor announces indictment in Dec. 5 death of Cincinnati woman; police still searching for victim’s 3-year-old

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters recently announced a murder indictment against Desean Brown for the Dec. 5 murder of Nyteisha Lattimore.

Brown is now charged with two counts of murder (special felony); one count of felonious assault (second-degree felony); one count of gross abuse of a corpse (fifth-degree felony); and one count of tampering with evidence (third-degree felony). If convicted of all charges, he faces the possibility of life in prison.

Cincinnati 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore has now been missing for 1 month

Have you seen him? Police are echoing a dire plea for tips on the mysterious disappearance of a 3-year-old Cincinnati boy.

"We want the public to know we are doing everything as a police department to locate Nylo," Lt. Steve Saunders with the Cincinnati Police Department said on Tuesday.

You know I guess they cannot torture an answer out of the killer of the mom, probably can't even shine a bright light on him, it may be too hot at 75 watts, poor him... If he had nothing to do with it and the child ran off...? I seriously doubt it, he would have been found, he is 3 for God's sake!!! I get there is no conviction but this world is pathetic. There IS a child missing!

Over a month later, frustrated community members search again for Nylo Lattimore

Police, loved ones, and community members spent Sunday passing out flyers and searching for any sign of missing 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore.

More than a month after he disappeared, the toddler is still missing.

“We are helping the family because we want them to have peace, but we are doing this for Nylo because Nyteisha is not here to look for her son. So that’s our job as mothers and the community to be out here to find her son,” Burton says.

Cincinnati police say, though they haven’t had scheduled searches for Nylo in some time, the department is continuing to investigate every possibility and lead.

For Burton, the slow developments have pushed her patience to a breaking point.

That’s why today, she and another volunteer searched near the Markland Locks and Dam in Florence Indiana and along the Newport shoreline and from the Roebling Bridge to the Montgomery bridge in Cincinnati.

While they looked for clues that could lead investigators to Nylo’s whereabouts, they posted over a hundred fliers.

“We can’t pass a dumpster, trash can, underpass without really looking, everything is in question,” said Burton

Even though there’s been no trace of the little boy, Burton says she is desperately hoping someone spots Nylo.

In cases like this, it is hard for me not to think torture or serious threat should be allowed to find out from the accused where this poor child is.

I tend to sadly think he is probably deceased or he would be using the child as a bargaining chip.

Police say they searched over 180 miles with no trace of missing 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore

Cincinnati police say they have covered more than 180 miles searching for 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore with no trace of him, besides his mother's body and a stroller.

"Nothing has changed as far as our feeling that there's probably foul play involved in Nylo's disappearance," Saunders said Tuesday evening. "Desean Brown, who's been arrested for Nyteisha's murder, has not been forthcoming, has not been cooperative at all with this investigation.

"The person that probably has the most information is not coming forward with that information at all."

Saunders said officers have searched around the crime scene in Walnut Hills, by the Purple People Bridge and "all along the Ohio River." Altogether, he said, units have searched over 180 miles of shoreline looking for Nylo.

Police say they’re not giving up on search for missing 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore

Cincinnati police Lt. Steve Saunders vows to not give up the search until 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore is found.

“It’s important for the public to know we haven’t stopped searching. We will not stop searching,” said Saunders.

Saunders says police followed up on every single lead in town and continue to do so as more come in.

Police say after interrogating Brown, they suspect foul play in Nylo’s disappearance.

Brown continues to be unhelpful during the investigation, police say.

After 2 months, still no sign of missing Cincinnati 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore

After nearly two months, there is still no sign of missing 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore. But police have not given up hope following the boy's mysterious disappearance.

"We want the public to know we are doing everything as a police department to locate Nylo," Lt. Steve Saunders with the Cincinnati Police Department said on Tuesday.

Was there not already a reward for this little one? :(

'I still have nightmares': Man indicted in the 'gruesome' death of 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore

Investigators believe 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore was dumped into the Ohio River alive by the man who had stabbed his mother to death.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters is seeking the death penalty for Desean Brown, 21, who is charged with murder in both killings.

“He chose to kill Nylo in an incredibly barbaric method,” Deters said at a press conference Wednesday. “I still have nightmares about this.”

Deters said Brown had planned for months to kill his girlfriend before he stabbed her to death in a Walnut Hills apartment around Dec. 5.

He said Brown waited several days, leaving her body in the apartment, and then carried her out in a body bag he ordered off eBay.

Deters said Brown called an Uber to drive him to the river telling the driver the large bag was just some clothes.

Investigators believe Brown tried to throw Lattimore’s body into the river the night of Dec. 11. She was discovered around 3:30 a.m. near the Purple People Bridge on Dec. 12.

An image from a surveillance camera shows what Deters said was Brown carrying the body in a body bag wrapped in a blanket.

Deters said the evidence shows Nylo was thrown in the river after his mother was killed, but before her body was dumped.

"I cannot even imagine what that little boy was going through," Deters said. He said the method Brown used to allegedly kill Nylo was "gruesome."

"He died a miserable death," Deters said.

Cincinnati police homicide detectives said Nylo’s blood was found on a Paw Patrol blanket recovered with his mother’s body, and his stroller was found nearby.

Brown is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, one count of gross abuse of a corpse and one count of tampering with evidence. He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $1 million bond.

Police are still searching for Nylo’s body.

”In all my years as prosecutor, I have never seen such a cold-blooded act committed against an innocent woman and her 3-year-old baby,” Deters said.

Suspect in Nylo and Nyteisha Lattimore’s deaths held without bond in death penalty case

The suspect police say is involved in the deaths of 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore, and his mother, Nyteisha Lattimore, is now held without bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center, a Hamilton County court judge said.

Desean Brown, 20, appeared in court Monday for an arraignment in a death penalty case.

Deters said as far as a motive, it appears to be “some boyfriend-girlfriend stuff,” but said there is no excuse for this tragic outcome.

Brown is charged with two counts of aggravated murder with death penalty specifications, one count of gross abuse of a corpse, and one count of tampering with evidence.

The judge says his next court appearance will be April 14.

Both Nylo and James believed to be in the Ohio River. :(

James Hutchinson, Nylo Lattimore: Crews search Ohio River for missing boys believed to be dead

As trained volunteers continue to search for two missing boys who are believed to be dead, experts believe being involved with two horrific tragedies centered around children can lead to emotional trauma.

North Star International and Ohio Landsar crews say they are committed to finding 6-year-old James Hutchinson, of Middletown, and 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore of Cincinnati.

Police believe the boys were killed in two separate criminal cases, but their remains have not been located.

Search efforts, vigils continue for children missing in Ohio River

As officials prepare to again search the Ohio River for the body of 6-year-old James Hutchinson on Sunday, community members continue to search and mourn both Hutchinson and 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore, whom officials believe was also put into the river in December.

On Saturday, community members gathered in Middletown for a vigil and balloon release for both children. Those who attended said they are determined to keep searching along the Ohio River for the boys, hoping to bring both families some sense of closure.

"To see everybody come out and support James and Nylo, I mean, it warms my heart that everybody does care," said Destiny Hill, who organized Saturday's event. "There are people out there that care."

Rising waters in the Ohio River stalled search efforts earlier in the week for both boys, as officials deemed the river too high and dangerous to effectively or safely search. Now that waters have receded, the officials plan to resume the search efforts.

"So now we have to come out and help them and make sure that their babies come back home to them," said Faith Burton, a friend of Nylo Lattimore's father. "So that's our goal. It's been our goal since December 15 for Nylo, and now baby James."

Bodies of Lattimore, Hutchinson not found in search
A search for the bodies of Nylo Lattimore and James Hutchinson on Sunday did not yield any results.

After more than six hours of scouring the banks and high waters for the boys, investigators and officers turned up nothing.

Police agencies and volunteers searched by foot, by helicopter, on horseback, and with K-9s.

Very irresponsible to be giving out this much info about his sibling, IMO. I redacted some from this post.

Brother of missing Cincinnati 3-year-old continuing as Middletown student, could be adopted

N.L. was watching TV in December when he heard his brother was reportedly missing and possibly thrown alive into the Ohio River in Cincinnati.

So he called his great aunt, Marcia Cooper, 59, who was at the grocery store.

“We just kept hoping he was alive,” she said.

On Sunday, rescue crews spent nearly six hours searching the Ohio River for the bodies of 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore and 6-year-old James Hutchinson, both of whom allegedly were thrown into the river. Neither boy was found, according to officials.

N, 9, is a third-grader at [redacted] in Middletown, Cooper said. She plans to adopt him. Another of the Lattimore brothers has been adopted, she said.

Nylo and N., who have different fathers, are the sons of Nyteisha Lattimore, 29, who is believed to have been killed on or about Dec. 5 in her Cincinnati apartment, according to Cincinnati police.

What saddens me in conjunction to the actual murder in some of these cases is how many fathers appear to be missing... Here it is a great aunt stepping up to adopt instead of the child's father.

I agree that they don't need to be providing information etc. of a minor child. Children are taught not to even share that and yet here is a news org doing just that and it is uncalled for.

Continuing to hope these boys are found.
