Search for 2 children forcibly abducted from Upstate NY foster home

Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing boy and girl from the Rochester area who they believe were abducted by two men wearing ski masks who broke through a window of their foster home.

Police said 5-year-old Dimitri Cash Jr. and 3-year-old Shekeria Cash were abducted in suburban Greece at 8:40 p.m. Monday.

The two men went upstairs and forcibly removed the children, who were in their pajamas. The boy was last seen in fire truck or dinosaur pajamas, while the girl was last seen wearing panda pajamas.

They fled in the homeowner’s van, eventually ditching the vehicle at a nearby apartment complex, authorities said.

Police called it a “planned, targeted abduction” and pleaded with the public for help in finding the children.

Authorities said they want to speak to the children’s father and are trying to locate him.

I really hope they can find a way to keep these kids safe. This is crazy and they don’t deserve this kind of a horrible life.
The kids under a floor board in the car. I guess since you are trying to not be seen with them would be the reason but you do this to the kids you supposedly care about and are fighting for? Of course they have not actually said it was him yet.

Not all but most of these cases the parents do not harm the child physically thank goodness, when it is a parent that takes them from the custody of another. I am glad they are safe.

I guess because of the Orrin and Orson case, I have to wonder about someone fostering seven children as well on the other side of this. Maybe she (or a couple if two) is very good at it but I would like to know more about all the reasons behind everything here, yet I doubt we will find out.

It may be a minor detail but this article said they were on the floor board concealed under blankets not under a floor board which makes me feel a bit better for the kids. I guess I just hope for the kids' sake other than the scare of people in masks that whoever it was made it calm for them in the vehicle and elsewhere.

This also says it is a woman they have in custody so I would say it is still unclear who did this? Could be the mother, could be dad's girlfriend, etc.? It also says they are looking for more people and not just one other...

Exclusive: Inside neglect case of Greece father wanted for questioning after Amber Alert
The father of two children who were abducted and taken out of state - launching an Amber Alert this week - previously lost custody of all four of his children because of neglect.

13WHAM News has learned Cash lost custody over an investigation into abuse doled out as corporal punishment. 13WHAM's investigation has uncovered disturbing details.

On social media sites, 26-year-old Dimitri Cash portrays himself as a father wronged by the courts. An attorney appointed to look out for the interests of his two oldest children disagrees.

"This case should have been charged as an abuse case," said Maureen Polen.

Family court records involving these investigations are usually sealed. Yet when Cash lost custody, he filed an appeal - which was argued via Zoom in December.

An expert medical witness who testified before family court said the older children - a girl and a boy - suffered injuries consistent with being beaten with an extension cord.

His daughter, the oldest, described how she was beaten with a plank.

The two older siblings are also in foster care. It's unclear if they live in the same home. If so, they were left behind.

"Concerning to me is also the father's statement that you can do what you want, when asked about physical discipline," Judge Patrick NeMoyer said. "You can do what you want with your own children."

O/T Well I finally got notification of posts without it taking half an hour but it still was slow loading.

So he lost them to neglect or abuse? Or both. Likely both I guess the way it sounds.

Still unclear then if he had custody and not the mother. Or if all four children are the mother's.

It is interesting that they delved into this just because it still has not been said whether it was the father who was involved with this abduction.
