Amber Alert for 3-year-old girl from Kansas City, Kansas

An Amber Alert has been activated for a 3-year-old girl from Kansas City, Kansas.

Oliva Jansen is 3 feet tall. She weighs about 50 pounds and has brown hair and blue-green eyes. She was last seen wearing her pajamas, which included a pink top and purple or teal bottom. Her hair was in a ponytail, according to the Amber Alert.

Oliva’s father told police he woke up at 6:30 Friday morning and discovered she wasn’t in her bed and wasn’t inside their home. The back door of the house was open.

“Due to her age and a search of the area, investigators believe that she was taken from the location,” the Amber Alert states.

There is no known suspect or suspect vehicle at this time.

Other side of interstate, lend to abduction theory right? Stupid worthless people... IF this child was abducted, it WAS ARRANGED. Imo thus far. And I don't believe it.

Yes, though I don't think this one was particularly difficult. They appear to be a few fries short of a Happy Meal.
Entirely agree. At least we are not waiting a week to find out if this is her (or likely her) while LE stays quiet.

Yeah, these perps probably left a trail of fries a mile wide... Poor child. That parents cannot even be decent enough to give them to a grandparent that cares if they don't... What a week this has been of such things...

This is very disturbing. And girlfriend's vehicle taped off. House with no power, etc.?? Anyone else try really hard not to go down this typical route earlier...? I did. Wondered about another half right off the bat for one (girlfriend)... Don't sound like dad is any prize though either... Had her at a house with no utilities etc.??
Something tells me it wasn't her lights and electricity he was interested in. Seems like this baby might have actually needed lights and electricity.

There is absolutely NO reason to lie about where she was "abducted" from and not from where she was living for the last 6 months. What? Did he really think his family was going to just go along with that story? Did he really think LE would not ask the very people that actually did live at that address?

I had one thought and maybe you know more so perhaps it doesn't fit. I thought what if the gf and dad got in an argument and it is not her daughter. Other house is hers? He leaves with daughter for his former place which has power cut off? Or do we know they were both there, etc.?

Not cutting anyone a break, just wondering why this place, etc. As you say did he think LE would believe that? Or did she?

I'm pretty sure he was living with the gf at the house that has no electricty, just by the grandparents that actually live at the Gibbs St address. Also by their interview, it seemed that he took Olivia with him. Current gf is not Olivia's mother. She is in jail.

And they are saying that the person at the Ottawa St address was cooperating, which I assume was the current gf.

That is kind of what I meant, that she was at that address...? He at the other. At least on this occasion.... Confused a bit I guess...

Just trying to decide if it was one or both...

I would like to hear of arrest(s) next and soon...

Father booked into jail following death of Olivia Jansen

On Friday, online jail records indicated that Howard Jansen has been booked into jail following the death of his 3-year-old daughter Olivia Jansen.

The online listing says he was booked on the following:

  • Abuse of a child; unknown circumstances
  • First-degree murder
He will be in the Wyandotte County Jail on a 48-hour hold, at minimum. These are not formal charges at this time.

‘That was my baby’: Grandmother heartbroken by KCK AMBER Alert’s tragic end

Vickey Saindon wishes more could have been done to make sure the little girl was OK. She said she hadn’t been able to see Olivia in months and had called authorities to try make sure she was safe.

“I just wish whenever we called DCF they would have done something about it because we’ve called them and KCK police to do welfare checks on that child,” Saindon said.

“I’m hurt. That was my baby. Why’d they have to injure my grand baby?” she said.

But she hopes investigators can get to the bottom of things quickly.

“I want whoever done this to my child be put down and not let out. She was an innocent baby,” she said.

I didn't plan on being up this late but am glad to see an arrest. This man has his daughter's name on his forehead??? Put me in a cell with him and that name will be obliterated by scar tissue at best...

Sick to death of these monsters who are not even deep enough to realize if they don't have a decent controlled function at all to at least give the child to someone who cares...

There just aren't words are there?

RIP Olivia. Just a baby. So unfair.

How can we figure out a way to stop these monsters before they kill their babies?
Well, for one, maybe DFS could have actually did a welfare check on her as requested and just maybe she would have been placed with the grandparents. This is far from the first time Kansas has dropped the ball. There have been several high profile cases in just the last very few years.
