Where is Sebastian?: Nonverbal tot still missing, dad says he ‘must have jumped’ from apartment balcony
Officials are still looking for 3-year-old Sebastian Castro Rivas, who disappeared from his Colorado home nearly three weeks ago.
Sebastian’s father, Manuel Rodriguez, spoke to Univision earlier this month, according to Fox 31, and claimed Sebastian may have
jumped from an upstairs apartment balcony.
Rodriguez said that at one point, Sebastian was alone at the apartment after returning home from the park with his mother.
“He never goes to the balcony when it’s night time, but he did and must have jumped,” Rodriquez said.
Searchers found a cellphone Sebastian listens to music on by the river, along with a shoe that the family confirmed belongs to Sebastian.
I haven't been on for awhile and I am just catching up and seeing the story is changing. I did not doubt he may have been and may still be in the river and that there was no foul play but I could not put to rest lingering possibilities on the lack of more information. I figured I was reaching.
So now we have him home alone for a moment and dad was not there at least that point nor dad either..
The one mention some time back of the balcony I did not like. Right now I am sitting right next to mine. I thought well maybe, but I just did not see it as likely. And he is 3. I sit here right at this moment and he would have to have a chair is my guess and they may well have one out there, it is balcony. Get on that, move it if necessary, and grab a corner post on one end hang onto it and still get up on the top of the balcony rail. Now mine has a few inch flat top deck rail so while hanging onto a post it could be done most likely. However, I have seen apartment balconies with just an iron or metal rail that has no width at all. None, zilch.
Already I just am not buying it explaining this. Now he still has to jump. I can't see it.
I only say this and I am sure others know but because I live in an apartment here and I can look and really try to picture it. And to add to that, I am on the second floor, the lowest balcony in an apartment building, first floor are patios, and ground level. Already too this is likely more time than the parents being gone a second or minute. Snitty jumped off of it when we were moving me in and found it was a bit more of a jump than he expected. THAT is another story. He is a cat he survived. shook himself off looked around like to see wear he wanted to go explore first. DARNED cats.
Ya all have seen me long enough by now to realize I am up and can't sleep and can go on. It distracts me from other thoughts.
But I'll cut to this, the first mention early on and it was just a he did not think it likely but perhaps he went off the balcony, and i think it was the dad. Way back when I jutst figured he was trying to figure himself how he got out, a desperate parent not knowing what happened so put that possibility out there to help LE in any way...
But now with more of this, I think what may likely be going on is cops are facing them with videos of what they have found and maybe saying he is not on them and they are covering and were then the possibility of the balcony worrying where surveillance cameras may be...
One other last thing about almost are apartments are there are only two ways to get out, your front door and your balcony and if you are not on first floor with a patio, the balcony is not used for people coming in and out. So the parents have to fit it to one of two possibilities if their story from the start was he got out somehow from the apartment.
I know everyone knows this and am not providing info about apartments all don't know but I sit here as I read the post I am responding to (haven't read the rest yet) but I am looking right at my balcony and putting these thoughts together and picturing such a thing. I believe even a 12 year old would more likely than not if not break a leg or arm or such would at least have a serious sprain and pain. Stranger things have happened and young children are especially resilient but the balcony is out for me. amger
