‘They killed our babies’: Husband of murdered family speaks out
Authorities are investigating a triple homicide in Alabama after a mother and her two children were found killed inside their home in what officials describe as a “brutal” targeted attack.Lisa Gail Fields, 46, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Arionna Luker and her 12-year-old son Thomas Cordelle Jr. were found dead in their home on Monday, April 20.
“I was supposed to protect them. I was supposed to be there for them. They killed our babies. They killed my wife,” said Nathan Fields.
Fields is the husband of 46-year-old Lisa Fields and stepfather to 17-year-old Keziah Luker, who was about 8 months pregnant, and 12-year-old Thomas TJ Cordelle Jr.
He recounted the last time he spoke to his family Sunday evening before they were found dead at their home on Auble Moody Road, just west of Lott Road.
“I was at work, and me and her had been talking all throughout the day, and it was 6:21 p.m… and that was the last time we spoke, where she had responded,” said Fields. “And about 20 minutes later, I tried calling her and didn’t get an answer. It was going directly to voicemail, and I knew, I knew instantly something was wrong,” he continued.
The victims were found dead inside their home on Auble Moody Road in Wilmer with their hands zip-tied around their backs in separate rooms. The mother was stabbed, her daughter shot, and her son nearly decapitated. Investigators said that there was no forced entry, and the house had been rummaged through.
“Lisa was my wife. Yeah. We’ve known each other for over 30 years,” said Fields. “I watched TJ turn into such a little man. Keziah, she was reaching her goals. She was a young mother who was dedicated. She got her G.E.D. She was getting ready to enroll in college,” he continued.
Fields was working on the Alaskan pipelines when tragedy struck. On Wednesday, he finally got back to Wilmer and said this attack was personal.
“Whoever it was was someone that came over to the house on a regular basis. Someone who was jealous of the progress in life that we were making,” said Fields. “That’s the part that kills me, is knowing that they were afraid, you know, they were scared. Whoever did this knew us,” he continued.
Fields said there has been speculation online that his criminal past is tied to the murders.
“Everybody’s saying that this was the cartel because of what happened to me in 2018, when I was arrested in Texas. Yes, I was affiliated with them,” said Fields. “No, this wasn’t a strike back from a debt, or anything like that,” he continued.
Fields said he has been in contact with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.
“I’m praying. But it’s times like this was hard to have faith,” said Fields.
There is no one in custody, and there are no new leads in the case.
BACKGROUND:
According to Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch, the MCSO initially received a call to the home around 2:30 a.m. after a family member did a welfare check.
Sheriff Burch says after 17-year-old Keziah’s boyfriend was offshore at work, he saw her phone start moving on Life360. When he couldn’t reach her, he called his dad to go check up on the family. When the dad got inside, that’s when he saw everything and grabbed the 18-month-old before calling 911.
An 18-month-old, Keziah’s child, was left in the home unharmed.
Sheriff Burch said the house was left in disarray, leading investigators to believe the suspects were looking for something.
He said he believes there may have been more than one suspect because three people were subdued.
No arrests have been made, and no person of interest has been named in the case, but the sheriff’s office is following up on some leads.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office officials have made an arrest in the Wilmer family murders.The suspect in the Wilmer family homicides has been identified as 54-year-old William Graham Oliver.

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch has released more details surrounding the arrest of a man in connection with a family homicide in Wilmer.
According to Sheriff Burch, 54-year-old William “Bill” Oliver knew the family, which included 46-year-old Lisa Gail Fields, 17-year-old Keziah Arionna Luker, and 12-year-old Thomas “TJ” Cordelle Jr. Keziah was pregnant when she died.
Sheriff Burch said Oliver was at the family’s home on April 19 around 7:30 p.m.
He said a vehicle was towed from Oliver’s home on Tuesday, along with bags of items that are “supporting evidence.”
Oliver was allegedly driving his neighbor’s tan-colored Mercury at the time of the deaths.
Oliver is charged with eight counts of capital murder, four of those counts of burglary, one of those counts is for two or more persons, two counts are for a child less than 14, and one count is for being in the presence of a child.
Two of those charges are for the unborn baby’s death.

A few new details have emerged in the murder of a south Alabama family following the arrest of the suspect Tuesday.New court records indicate that William Graham Oliver, 54, allegedly entered the Wilmer home of Lisa Ferguson on April 19 with the intent to rob her prior to killing her and her two children, Keziah Luker, 17, and Thomas Cordelle, 12.
Oliver, who knew the family, allegedly used an unknown sharp object to murder Ferguson and Cordelle by causing severe lacerations to both victims.
The records state Luker, who was eight months pregnant, was shot by Oliver, killing both her and her unborn child.
He faces eight counts of capital murder.
Luker also had an 18-month-old child that was present during her murder but was left unharmed.
The details provide a potential motive for the killings that left the south Alabama community stunned.
Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch initially thought such a crime involved more than one person but on Tuesday said, “At this point we believe he’s solely responsible for the murders.”
Oliver’s initial court appearance is set for April 30 at a.m. in courtroom 8100.

The defense attorney for the Wilmer quadruple murder suspect is speaking out.Tom Walsh, who represents William Oliver, tells FOX10 News while he doesn’t have all the details at this time, the information he does know isn’t lining up.
“There’s a lot that doesn’t add up though,” Walsh said. “The sheriff’s department and the DA’s office is going to have a lot of explaining to do. When we have the preliminary hearing next month, a lot of this information will come out and be questioned and really looked at critically by the defense.”
Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch says Oliver killed Thomas Cordelle Jr., Keziah Luker, the baby she was carrying, and Lisa Fields inside their home on Auble Moody Road on April 19. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Oliver last week.
He’s now charged with eight counts of capital murder.
Burch says Oliver was inside the Wilmer home looking for something, but the sheriff hasn’t said publicly what Oliver was allegedly searching for.
“He was at the home 7:30 ish Sunday night. Very very tight timeline. Very solid circumstantial evidence at this point and we feel confident that we have the right man,” Burch said.
Walsh tells FOX10 News once the facts come out in this case, the state’s case will, in his words, crumble, and his client is maintaining his innocence.
“We’re still in the early stages of it. We’re very skeptical of how they got to the arrest in this case. A lot of stuff is just not adding up with the manner and the way that these murders took place,” Walsh said.
Oliver’s preliminary hearing was scheduled for this month, but Walsh says it’s now been moved to June. A date has not been set.
News 5’s exclusive look into home where Wilmer family murders took place
New details about the brutal murders of a Wilmer family were revealed in court on Wednesday during the preliminary hearing for the suspect, William ” Bill ” Oliver.Mobile County Sheriff’s Office officials said when they found the family, they were all in separate rooms with plastic flex cuffs used to tie their hands behind their backs.
The investigator said Keziah was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the bathroom, while TJ was found in a bedroom bleeding from trauma to the neck, and Lisa was found in another bedroom bleeding from the neck and from stab wounds to her torso.
During the investigation, officials said a neighbor told them that a familiar light tan car had been parked outside of the fence between 6:50 and 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.
The investigator also said Oliver claimed to have been buying drugs at another woman’s home, but that woman said she only ever spoke to Oliver on the phone that day.
During a search of the home, officials found that some of Lisa’s jewelry, including her engagement ring, was missing, leading detectives to check pawn shops in the area, where they found multiple pieces of her jewelry.
As for what investigators found with Oliver, he had a stun gun and a taser inside of his truck, a .22 caliber gun case and rounds inside his home, and the clothes he was wearing in the Circle K video in his dirty laundry.
Officials did not find a gun, zip-ties, gloves, or a stabbing blade with Oliver or inside of his property. They also said Oliver did not have any defensive wounds and that no neighbor ever heard gunshots.
News 5 exclusively went inside the home where the murdered Wilmer family was found back in April.
According to Nathan Fields, husband to Lisa Fields and stepfather to Keziah and TJ, the floors and walls had to be ripped up in certain parts of the home due to blood stains. Mattresses also had to be thrown out.
Nathan Fields was at Oliver’s preliminary hearing today. After the detective described the condition of the bodies once they were found, he broke down crying in the court room.
He believes Oliver is to blame and said his family is in support of the death penalty.
