The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

Does anyone wonder how she did all this without knowledge by at least Layna and Harley? She had to get him out of there, move him to a room at least, and if not clean up, explain the blood and all and it is Harley who got the cleaning products. Harley's room was downstairs too and she was a teenager. Keeping Layna from coming down may have just been an "order" by T but Harley?

She then at some point had to get him from the home to the car, etc. And so much more. Into the suitcase and on and on.

If Harley tells the truth, I think we are going to find she knew some or something at some point. Or even more than that.

She is THE witness I think that will be key in this and it must be quite a load. Not that there hasn't been a lot of key witnesses and major information and evidence but as far as non-LE sources, she is as important as Al and likely even more so as she was there.

I also think that she knew/saw something after the fact . And maybe she was/is deadly afraid of her mother.
A member of the jury has met an expert witness(the gun lady) privately twice. Judge Werner wants to decide about this issue after the weekend. Could this cause a mistrial? Hopefully not.

If you're only wishing her in the dungeon with no keys, you are a far better person than I so Lord help me.

Yes, she is quite something. And I don't mean that as a compliment to her. NO WAY.

You know I'm with you. And most people are aware, Because I usually say what I think. That I am completely for the death penalty.

The juror will probably be dismissed.

I CANNOT watch her. With her B.S. Mental illness defense. Because of what I have and deal with. BULLSH**! I have no problem sharing what I am diagnosed with. And I address it. Do what I am supposed to. I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ACTIONS!!!!

Met them when and how privately and for what? Met them since trial began or prior and didn't disclose it?

I wouldn't think so as there hasn't been any deliberation or talk yet, I think at most they would just put in an alternate who have all also been listening, and dismiss the other.

I cant explain very well, so if you go to almost exactly 8.00hrs in, right at the end of that court session, the juror explains the circumstances.

It's been so very helpful that you are pointing out things in this one since I can't (and others likely too) watch it all so that one can know what is what and giving me the time on this video was very helpful.

I don't think it will cause any mistrial. It is what I think as the judge said isn't unusual that someone realized they knew a witness on seeing them or hearing them. An alternate will come in is my guess and all will go on. I of course don't like the defense but if I were the judge I would side with them in this case and just substitute her. I wouldn't take the chance. She didn't do anything intentionally though or I don't think she would have come forward.

Of additional interest was the judge admonishing T for flipping the bird to witnesses and family, etc.! Has there or have their been photos of her, etc. doing this?

Not that I want to see her theatrics but can you tell me where I see the bs about her wetting herself, etc.? I loathe the thought of watching it but want to see how obvious she was about it being a ploy and knowing the camera would catch/hear her/record her. Don't go to any trouble to find it, I don't want you to do that, but if you know offhand, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction. It took me almost all night last night to catch up just on posts in Vallow HERE much less watch much else.

I really appreciate all that are posting in all these cases going on and the summaries, etc. of each day, or biggest things/highlights.

All along I thought that Harley knew what happened. I have even wondered why she wasn’t arrested for being an accessory. Hopefully I’m wrong.
