On May 25, 1981, authorities recovered a body of an unidentified, deceased white female from a low water crossing off Highway MM north of Dixon, MO. The woman, estimated to be between age 25-40, had suffered trauma to her face and had been strangled with pantyhose. Her death is considered homicide. The woman’s race is undetermined, possibly White with a mixture of Native American or Hispanic. The victim was likely born in the United States and had probably lived in Missouri for only a few years before her death, based on an analysis of strontium and lead in the her body. On 5/29/2003 additional remains, clothing and personal belongings were found nearby in a shallow grave apparently dug up by animals. The deceased was a petite, adult female who had at least one prior, full-term pregnancy during life. On July 11, 1963, the body of an unidentified child was recovered from the Keene Creek Reservoir along Highway 66 approximately 12 miles east of Ashland, Oregon. Based on the condition of the remains, it is believed the child died some time after October 1962. The child was wrapped in an aqua blanket and a handmade patchwork quilt with red gingham squares. On August 15, 1978 Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call to investigate human remains found by loggers in a remote wooded area near the Village of Warrens, Township of Knapp, Jackson County, Wisconsin. Search of the area by officials resulted in the recovery of a skull, lower mandible, and vertebra. The results of a limited autopsy indicated the deceased was a white male between the ages of 28 and 52. A silver-colored ‘Medi-Stud’ brand earring, normally used by piercing salons, was also discovered near the remains, leading investigators to theorize the deceased had at least one pierced ear. On January 24, 1988, a man walking his dog discovered the skeletal remains of a young woman in a valve/pump house at the old Publicker distillery property on State Road in Bensalem. She had been deceased more than 3 years, prior to being found. On August 5, 1988, burned human remains were discovered along Beaver Creek, in the Willow Slough State Fish and Wildlife Area in Morocco, Newton County, Indiana. The area where the remains were found was described as sparsely populated with heavy vegetative cover. Forensic anthropologists who examined the remains determined they were those of a 18-45 year-old Black/African American female, estimated to be about 5’6” tall. Found with the body were a pair of jeans and a safety-pin stamped with the number “450”. Remains of another individual, identified as “Tony”, were found in the same location.
