Police searching for missing two-month-old last seen in Hagerstown

Officials are asking the public for help in finding a missing two-month-old child last seen in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Officials with the Maryland Centers for Missing and Unidentified Persons say Zori Cherry was last seen on Tuesday, and is believed to be in the company of Tianna Dawkins.

According to the Hagerstown Police Department, officers were waved over at the intersection of W. Franklin St and N. Prospect St when a woman told officers that she had left her two-month-old baby at her apartment in the 200 block of W. Franklin St. with a male acquaintance.

She told police when she returned, the man was still there but the baby was gone.

At this time, police do not know where the child is.

Left baby with a man but the baby is believed to be with a woman. Hmm. At least generally Tianna would be a female name. It's not the mother as the mother flagged police down...

Sounds unusual that the police were flagged down in the area, meaning lucky they were nearby I guess...

Man still there, baby gone...

Let's hope it is a friend or someone he allowed to take her who didn't bring her back, however, this is just as likely his story, that someone took her... Or his and her story...

Praying the baby is found...

3/9/22 @ 12:05: On today’s date around 10:53 AM, Baby Zori was located, safe and sound, in the District of Columbia with the assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, units of the Maryland State Police, and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department as the culmination of a joint investigation with the Hagerstown Police Department.

Abduction case of 2-month-old Hagerstown boy moved to circuit court

Two area women have been charged in the March abduction of a 2-month-old Hagerstown boy who was found a day later in Washington, D.C., according to court records.

Tianna Mona Dawkins, 29, of Hagerstown, and Sarah Dean Green, 41, were both charged Thursday through criminal information filings with abducting and harboring a baby, known as Zori.

The charge of abducting and harboring a child under 12 comes with a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison, according to court records.

The criminal information filing moves the cases to Washington County Circuit Court, while their initial cases in District Court were closed. In District Court, Dawkins also had been charged originally with kidnapping a child under 16 and home invasion, according to court records. Green also had been charged originally with abducting a child under 12.
