Got my Masters degree from here. :(

Killer who stabbed 4 Idaho students to death still at large

The killer — or killers — who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death remained at large Tuesday, prompting many students to leave the campus in the idyllic small town despite police assurances that there was no imminent risk to the community.

So many students had left the scenic tree-lined campus in Moscow, Idaho, by Tuesday that university officials said a candlelight vigil scheduled for the next day would instead be held after the Thanksgiving break.

The students, all close friends, were found dead in an off-campus rental home around noon on Sunday, and officials said they likely were killed several hours earlier. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt told the Spokane, Washington-based television station KXLY that her preliminary investigation showed the students were stabbed to death. There is no indication that substance use was involved in the deaths, Mabbutt said.

There's no way he will go with a lower sentence IMO. He only let everyone know what he is allowed to do at sentencing.

Ya he was not very happy with the attempts to influence his decision. He mentioned that he did not read any of the messages or listen to any of the voicemails that were left and that they were all forwarded to LE for review.

I wouldn't be surprised that there are threats against the Judge in them that LE will take a look at.
Agree.

It is just further proof the families (or some) don't know the system and neither do others. You NEVER contact a judge.

The maximum for the burglary charge is 10 years. I forget what the minimum is. He can't impose a higher sentence because the agreement is for the max. Same with the murder counts. And he can't impose a death sentence.

So he can either sentence Kohberger to what the plea agreement says or he can ignore the agreement and give him a lower punishment that is within the legal limits. The minimum for the murder counts is 10 years. I seriously doubt this Judge will give BK a lower sentence and will follow the plea agreement.
I don't want to even think about what Steve Goncalves will do if there's a lesser sentence!

Does anyone feel that Steve not going into the courtroom today was a good idea or do you think he disrespected the memory of his daughter by leaving before the hearing started.

i don't know how i feel about it..... i feel like he should have changed his mind and went in.... but i do understand his boycott and as long as people know that him boycotting the plea deal was the reason why makes a statement...... but it's his baby.... i hope he will be present for sentencing..... honestly i think that if the guys that killed my best friend and her stepsister and pleas were made i honestly think their dad would have done the same thing.... he would have been so mad if pleas were made but the rest of us their friends, their sisters moms etc we wanted to be spared a trial

I have mixed feelings about him leaving. I see some disrespect but I think if he can't control himself and disrupted the hearing that would not be good for anyone.

It would have been nice if he let everyone know why he left and not blather about knowing personal information about the Kohbergers travel details.

Tried to find a complete video on YouTube but was unsuccessful. I don't do X so no luck there either.

Exactly this. If he had stayed , he might bet well have caused himself more issues.

I don't really understand his motive in any of this, but it his choice whether he attends or not. I think he is lucky he is not being charged with contempt of court by the judge, who is unhappy with him telling people to contact the judge. Maybe that is why he did not attend as he must know the judge is not happy. He doesn't seem to understand that a perp can plead guilty if he wishes and the sentence can be decided by the prosecutors and the court. The murderer of his daughter and her friends will die in jail.

Good points. I was somewhat surprised that the Judge didn't call him out for causing all of problems he made by telling people to call him and try to influence his decision. But then I thought that the Judge didn't want to provoke an even more outlandish reaction from him.

Does anyone know what Kohberger's motive was for targeting and murdering these four young people? Did he give any inkling in his confessions at all?
