Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

I'm watching something on CourtTV about the Denise Pflum case. I'd never heard of it before. She's been missing since 1986.

I'm watching a documentary (It's three hours.) I looked at the summaries of each episode and they never solved it.

So, I looked up to see if anything had happened since the documentary ended.

Her ex boyfriend admitted to killing her in 2020 before dying of a terminal disease. His lawyer says that her ex boyfriend said he didn't do it. Benny Johnson is another suspect because he supposedly has told people in town that he killed her. He was never questioned and the family hired a lawyer.

His family is one of the richest in town.

The Pflum family is now suing the Johnson's to get access to search their property for her remains.

Another guy, who says he was involved is a guy who says he helped kill her. His name is Randy. A person who knows him well said he admitted to them his involvement. They told the documentary through an altered voice.

They talk to Randy and he denies any involvement. He also says that his cousin Benny wasn't involved.

They try to interview Benny and he refuses. You never see him, but can hear him. The documentations say he's a very scary dude.

They talk to Bennie's mother on the phone. The day before the Johnson's had said they'd let the Pflum's search the property. She says no.

There's rumors that the mother of Benny had paid people off to shut up about what they know.

My theory is Benny did it. In the conversation with his mother, she knows Benny has psychological problems. Just a guess, but he might be a psychopath.

The parents are just protecting him.

What happens with Syria now will affect the entire region. Hooray for Assad being gone, just another psychopath overthrown. I hope a democratic system can be put in place.

I wouldn't bank on it. The first thing they have done is let everyone out of jail. :panic:
