Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

Just child porn charges should put him away for a long time. it did with Kevin Kline. And others. Depending on, some that are connected, rich or influential sure seem to skate on such sh*t. BUT it shouldn't even take that. You know he groomed this girl, changed and twisted her entire life and she likely wasn't young enough for him any longer. I also almost wonder if he wasn't dumb enough to think if she walks in now to a police station as an adult that he can't be charged. I'd really like to know more on this one but no thread I don't think and I rarely get into this thread. And little that I've seen on this other than what I and you and all saw here so far. Haven't been able to look into further but yes, it seems a no brainer he has molested children and not just her. AND YOUNGER.

You have to forgive me for this but it has been how long since I commented on this AND didn't have time for the thought and am unsure even if it is known BUT I know she 'saved" herself so to speak but did THEY have any children or her with him? I can't recall nor do I know if it even was spoke of but would be a real question and possibility. I am thinking i think like of the Jaycee Dugard case...

I had a friend that lived in the town where "Jaycee" Was found. She saw the helicopters all day. I would hate to be the actor "Kevin Kline". I'm sure some ignorant people assume it's him.

First, it is California the worst of the worst for release and light sentences and more. Second of all as both you and I often point out and say this is going on all over.

Something else that is never said these days and they will not share is is he an illegal alien? Cali was the first I believe of which there are now many and now it isn't even necessary as nothing is done about it anyhow of the term and thing called "sanctuary cities"...It is an old term now but when first heard was a surprise to many of us what one side had been pulling right under our noses and cities in some states or the states were going directly against federal law.

Maybe it isn't the case here but who would know. THey will never say.

There are sooo many cases shut down and that get little notice or news... Do you know of the one with a machete of a woman and her grandchild in some southern state a few years ago? The guy was a bad drug lord or some such, and they were of NO relation if I recall and he crossed the border fequently... Can't recall all but it was AWFUL and of course it was stopped as for news about as quick as I saw it. The beheading was a thing with it if I recall. Gangs. Drugs. Big.

No idea in this case but I bet I am not too far off. Maybe grandma didn't send him enough commissary money.

I cannot repeat enough that it is too far gone and our justice system has become a joke. As have borders and rule of law.

I tried to find the serial killer thread five times and gave up so am parking it here @Mel70 Thought it might be of interest to you and if you can't make the live, it will be viewable after. if you can make the live, you can probably fill them all in on this guy in the chat lol. I would think it would be a fairly good show. This is the same guy wh has had on the police commissioner and the victim's attorney in the LISK case.

Swimming November 4th. Uh uh. Of course, Stranger things have happened. There was no mention of him being despondent in recent days to suggest maybe suicide. But that's possible too. Their wording, And their rush to exclude seems ridiculous.
