ONGOING CRIME BREAKING NEWS!

Starting in January 2020, this thread is about the news as it breaks!

Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

IMO- stay in jail

Good! I hope so. And I hope they add charges. Fleeing to avoid prosecution for one. I'm not sure, But I think faking your death is illegal. Even if your not trying to avoid a criminal charge, Financial gain, Avoid child or spousal support etc. IDK.

New article. Soooo....He wasn't involved in her getting 1300 miles away?. The article..."Her husky boyfriend". WTH does that have to do with anything?! They cleared out ASAP. WITH the help of his family. This is a very confusing and complex situation.
Wow. There's a lot to unpack here. Husky, trailer home, Indian Reservation, they definitely use words that get attention.

She was what 14? Anyone who has been with her until 18 committed a crime. She leflt her mother unsure if alive or dead for YEARS. Of course she couldn't go in if not of age because she'd not be able to do as she liked.

Whoever she was with first, regardless if it was him, he is double her age and when did she turn 18? And if true, their fight, and I'll go back, sounds as if he definitely knew the deal and again when did she turn 18 and how long have they been together?

Wanting to get a driver's license so she wants her name off the list... So how'd that work? She went to the DMV and they told her she was on a missing list and DMV didn't call LE but let her leave and go in herself to LE to get off the list... Hmm. Something missing there.

She LOOKS like a child even now next to him.

And he sounds like a real winner.

Maybe her home life was bad, maybe it wasn't but her life was living in an apartment with a loser at least now. Interesting his parents or family's involvement in packing them up and helping them out.

I'd say she is lost to her family unless she decides otherwise but that there is plenty of time involved here as to where she was and who she was with in these years and charges that she won't be able to do a thing about coming to one or all of them.

I am glad she is alive. I am CERTAIN her mother is. But on the surface right now she looks like an ungrateful brat who cared less if her family worried she was dead all this time.

I almost missed this as with no time I don't always do this thread or read all links and didn't even know it related to her until I clicked into the link which I almost didn't do either. Do we have a thread on her?

I decided to post here because they are still missing after 22 years. And I believe it was a crime. Next Sunday on "ID" At 8 p.m. Central is a special on the disappearances of "Tionda and Diamond Bradley". IMO. It was Tionda's father who was their mom's boyfriend who denied paternity until she demanded a DNA test.

Taylor was charged in April. As part of Taylor’s plea, Virginia prosecutors agreed to drop a misdemeanor charge of reckless storage of a firearm, the AP reported. Prosecutors have reportedly said they will not seek a jail sentence longer than six months, although the felony neglect charge carries a potential five-year prison sentence. A judge will decide Taylor’s fate at a sentencing hearing scheduled for Oct. 27.

✂️

Taylor is set to be sentenced on the federal charge on Oct. 18.
