ONGOING CRIME BREAKING NEWS!

Starting in January 2020, this thread is about the news as it breaks!

Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

IMO- stay in jail

I am just asking questions. I'm not saying her ex husband is involved. It just looks hinky.
If there is anything hinky it is way more likely to have to do with whatever was going on in her life nowadays. After all these years, an election, etc. kids grown and you name it what would be the reason? Others around her though, in her life in recent years, who knows. I haven't had a chance to actually read the sh*t on it so just commenting on comments here. And if I do get a chance to read or see the news I am sure they would speculate and make the most of it. Sad.

I saw a couple of more recent pictures of her out walking. She was holding someone's arm both times.screenshot of search results. I'll see what I can dig up. It made me wonder if she was a fall risk.

Her age and health would make her a fall risk all by itself. I wonder if they had changed her meds recently. That sure knocks my elderly mom for a loop a lot of times. Im just glad she has no steps she has to traverse daily.

The other issue with people that are fall risks tend to be stubbornness. It's just common, unfortunately. My next door neighbor refused to move to assisted living. She fell all the time. My mother is the same way.

This is probably why I don't see this as suspicious. I've seen firsthand what a fall that doesn't involve stairs can do to a person.

We got my mom a house with no stairs because of her falling history. Her blood pressure pills often make her bp tank when she gets up and down she goes. She has another med that makes her woozy at times. So many fall risk issues.

This is disgusting. It is not okay but even if say a parent has his/her hands full and a ton of stress and loses it, that is one thing and not okay but putting your child's body in a garbage can or dumpster??? This may not be the biggest part of a case or evidence sometimes but for me just looking at a case it is HOW COULD YOU. Let's say again that it wasn't intended, the person lost it or had no coping skills, no temper management but then AFTER the fact or perhaps unintentional act they throw their child away like GARBAGE to save their own arse...? THAT to me is aggravating!!! Dumpsters, trash cans, etc. :(
When they have to search garbage dumps makes me ill.
