Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

Divers find MORE human remains at drought-stricken Lake Mead

Another set of human remains was discovered by divers recently in Lake Mead just two months after the last bones were found.

More human remains discovered in Lake Mead. This is the 6th set of remains found as the water level in the lake has dropped almost 200 feet. The last time the lake was full of water was in 1983. The lake is currently at only 27% of its capacity. In other words, Las Vegas and the Vegas metro area are running out of water.
 
Wondering if there is a thread for this? This guy apparently had other names he was going to "visit" but there are other versions. I am also wondering why they did not have a firearm in their house for protection.

Even though it's fact based about how insane people have gotten due to conspiratorial rhetoric on the right, it's only suitable for the political pavilion, I'd think.

I have followed none of it at all. So don't know a thing. The only thing I did hear was Pelosi's hub was attacked at home. My first thought was how? The live behind walls with gates and major security.

Maybe it has been explained and makes sense I don't know because I haven't looked at anything on it at all. Sure is convenient timing though. Poor man.

Last I knew there was some DUI thing. How did that ever turn out? Slap on the hand? Tap on the finger?

No they don't. SS was supposed to be monitoring it, but weren't and admitted it. The guy simply walked up and broke the sliding glass door and entered.

Well far be it from me to argue it as like I said I haven't followed it so really can't debate it.

Just pretty hard to believe there wouldn't be quite the security system both at the walls, gate, etc. to warn before anyone even got that close (whether SS or not) and I did think I had heard in the past there was. I am almost positive she is walled and gated because I heard that way back when. Just like celebrities, they may hire body guards but they also have security systems and properties like fortresses.

It has shown plenty of images of their home that shows easy access to it.
