Okay, this is very weird. Nancy IS being Nancy for a bit on here but it gets better. The girl's mother is on with her. It isn't for me about her being a cheerleader, it is about Austin PD and the mother making noise about it. It might be sensational news but for me, things are not adding up, and that's what it really is about. I may start a thread if this day gets better, right now, not because I have things I have to get done that I am not getting done. Both links I've posted, the one above and now this one are worth ah listen.

For one thing, her phone was in the purse of another girl... Mom already has the phone back, cops I would think would have kept it... This one is ODD. I do think we have a bit of a helicopter mom here but things don't add up... They at least should have secured the scene, the people, etc. Lots wrong.

NANCY! Either you can take her, or not.

The suspect who allegedly planted pipe bombs blocks from the U.S. Capitol on January 5, 2021, has been identified as Brian Cole Jr. of Woodbridge, Va., according to two sources briefed on the arrest.

The sources say Cole, 30, is in FBI custody as of Thursday following roughly five years of investigation. He is charged with use of an explosive device, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday.

The FBI arrested Cole in northern Virginia. He will make his first court appearance on Friday in Washington, D.C.

There was a press conference on the Texas A & M student I posted about above. LE is "pushing back" I guess you'd say due to the girls' mothers remarks and the sudden interest in the case. I will link it here. Not the greatest sound quality but you can hear them, I did not even try to hear the questions afterwards.

A few things of note in it. One big one is they allegedly found a deleted suicide note on her phone. She had attended a tailgate party earlier (before heading to the apt. party) that day wherre she got so intoxicated she was asked to leave the party. Apparently she punched a friend trying to get her to leave. Several witnesses says she stumbled around and into the woods. That's where her phone was later found. She called an out of town bf two minutes before someone called 911 about her body on the sidewalk. She borrowed a friend's phone to do this. There's more.

These things would seem to indicate suicide but boy I still have a lot of questions...

Her mother pushed back right away and posted basically to not believe the lazy liars (LE). The mother's atty is holding a presser tomorrow and says its not suicide. She has some big name atty named Buzbee, I think, he apparently represented a lot of people against Diddy. And others.

I THINK he said friends heard her arguing with the bf on the phone so why then did they not see her go outside and jump just after that?? More in the video.

If everybody was just honest, think of how much easier life would be.

SOUTH JORDAN — A father who was rescued along with his three young children from Big Cottonwood Canyon in October after they were caught in a winter storm while hiking is now facing felony charges for taking his children on that hike.
Micah Smith, 32, of South Jordan, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with three counts of child torture and three counts of aggravated child abuse, all first-degree felonies.
“What seemed like an innocent hike with his three children quickly turned into a nightmare when the defendant chose to summit a mountain over the safety of the kids. The defendant refused to turn around when their mom told him to turn around and get the children home,” charging documents state. “During the 24-hour ordeal, the victims expressed that they were cold, tired and wanted to go home. The defendant, who is supposed to be the protector of his children, was ill-prepared and extremely selfish.”

On Oct. 11, Smith and his sons, ages 4 and 2, and his 8-year-old daughter set off to hike to the summit of Twin Peaks but were caught in a storm.
Salt Lake County sheriff’s deputies located the family the next day after they were reported missing. Smith was in fair condition, two of the children were in critical condition and the third child was stable, the sheriff’s office said.

When search and rescue crews found Smith, they “noted that Smith was behaving oddly and did not appear to be concerned about the children. Smith also told search and rescue team members that one of his children was dead,” according to the charges.
The 4-year-old boy “was mostly exposed, unconscious and ‘appeared lifeless,'” and had no pulse when he was found, the charges state. While being transported to a local hospital, the boy received about 25 minutes of CPR. At the hospital, he “suffered a stroke, which required a portion of his skull to be removed and an external ventricular drain to be placed.”
Smith’s daughter told investigators that when storm clouds started rolling in that day, she tried to convince her father to go home, but he refused.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” he allegedly told her.
“(The girl) said she again expressed to Smith that they ‘should really go’ and said that ‘she was getting scared.'” But her father told her, “‘You shall not pass,’ and then the storm came in ‘really quickly’ and described that it was ‘snowing, hailing and raining.’ She said she was ‘worried about not living,’ but Smith told her that they were OK,” according to the charging documents.
At one point during the night, Smith taught his daughter how to give CPR to her brother, the charges say.

The other boy fell and hit his head while they were hiking down the mountain and became “unconscious, unresponsive, and not breathing” during the night, Smith told investigators.
When questioned, Smith “admitted that he did not check the trail reports or the weather prior to heading out for the hike,” according to the court documents. He also said “he considered turning around due to the weather when they were close to the peak, but wanted to finish the hike before turning around.”
Smith says he sent photos of the sky to his wife as the storm developed and she also “suggested they start hiking down the mountain,” the charges state.
A search of Smith’s phone revealed a video in which one child is heard asking, “‘Are we going to freeze to death, Daddy?’ Smith responded that they ‘are almost to the top.’ In another video, Smith told the children that the path they would take was ‘not the normal one and they are taking the path less traveled,’ and then explained that the ‘path will be hard and ‘is not easy,'” according to the charges.
Investigators also noted that the hike is “rated hard and not recommended for beginner hikers or children” and that only two deputies felt confident hiking to the rescue location.
Prosecutors say Smith’s “behavior is clearly spiraling.” They noted an interaction with Cottonwood Heights police about a month earlier in which he “expressed suicidal ideations.” And on Nov. 10, he had to be removed from Primary Children’s Hospital for interfering with his son’s care and tampering with the equipment, the charges allege.
He was also arrested for investigation of domestic violence shortly after the incident.

I started a thread for this case:

Related to Chad or not, these parents and their neglect of this child are TERRIBLE. This child was almost never out of her crib and there was old food in the crib and everything else. Never interacted with, diaper hardly changed and a LOT MORE.

Just 18 months old. Why didn't they feed or interact with her? Dehydration, malnutrition and neglect.
Crib raised and to hold her basically. The mom's remark of it was her time and mom feels no guilt is just BEYOND. Did you listen to the obituary? They say when she 'escaped".. And more. In the womb on this vacation, huh? Doesn't mean she enjoyed one.

That poor baby is never smiiling.

What I don't get is that the parents admitted to hardly having her out of the crib, feeding her, so forth. I think Lauren missed that one big time, I'm guessing they admitted those things because LE probably had the proof of it and were being faced with it. Otherwise, these parents apparently thihk that's okay and normal to parent with neglect. LDS again. Not juding, just saying it is one.

And what did they do, pull her out for pics when necessary? There are some pics, family photos. This one burns me, I did not know what I was going to be listening to when I went in to listen. I think it maybe should have a thread.

And then they had her in one of those things, a baby gown (no way to get legs or feet out and had the crib tented. Probably because in spite of their best efforts, she learned to get out of the crib/wanted to, etc. Just horrible.

I can only guess the son made it through and was taught to be no problem... or they just preferred him?

What are your thoughts on that?

I am wondering if the son is her stepson. He is quite a bit older right? That could mean her first baby and inexperience.

My experience is you are always keen for them to get to the next step. Sitting at 6 months, rolling over and crawling 9 months and above, walking at 12 months and above. My first walked at 11 months. Also getting them on solids 3 months and upwards 6 months blended food, 12 months slightly more lumpy but soft foods, baby biscuits etc etc. Drinking out of a feeder cup. Taking the baby to the baby clinic to be weighed, checked out, vaccinated etc. Wasn't she doing any of that? My first baby was in the early 70's too whereas this is 2025 FGS. No excuse. Also what about grandparents and relatives? Did they ever see this poor baby?

It could be. Seems to be a few years gap at least based on pics. My two were four years apart though.

Same as you, waiting for them to hold help up, roll over, sit, crawl, walk, potty train and beyond. And talk. I waited for ALL of it and could hardly wait. Looked forward to it.

He's as bad though. He admitted he checked on her hardly ever (can't recall, but not nearly enough, neither changed her often, fed her often, etc.) He gamed. She is a traveling nurse was it said? She could well be exhausted and overwhelmed but still...

I dont' even care about the Daybell connection. Second cousin at best. This is its own case and is awful. But one could wonder I guess as to her remark of she didn't feel guilty and was the child's time. What is that? They are just supposed to be strong enough if never interacted with, let out, fed, etc.??

I believe both parents have been charged and that says a lot. Neither was taking care of this child. Yet the boy is older and alive...

Northern Utah couple arrested for investigation of murder in neglect case of toddler

NIBLEY, Utah (KSL.com) — A Cache County couple has been arrested in connection with the death of their 18-month-old daughter, who investigators say was left alone most days and died due to complications from malnutrition and dehydration.

Mitchell Chesnut Murray and Carrie Marie Murray, both 31, were each booked into the Cache County Jail for investigation of aggravated murder and aggravated child abuse.

Ruby Marie Murray died on March 19. She weighed approximately 17 pounds at the time of her death. Her mother told police she found her daughter deceased in her crib, according to a police booking affidavit.

As emergency crews were responding, 911 dispatchers tried to get Carrie Murray to perform life-saving efforts, but “Carrie informed dispatch that she was a nurse and she believed the child to be beyond help,” the affidavit states. When paramedics arrived, they told police that they believed rigor mortis had already set in.

“Follow-up investigative steps conducted by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office identified a severe pattern of neglect leading up to the infant’s death,” the sheriff’s office said.

Using baby monitors and surveillance cameras, detectives learned that during the last four days of Ruby’s life, she was only out of her crib for a little more than six hours, and “the total time another human being was identified as being present with the child was 49 minutes and 15 seconds,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators also identified just six diaper changes during those 96 hours.

Deputies further noted in the affidavit that “the child’s crib was in a bedroom where there was a space heater running, which was set to 68 degrees Fahrenheit and was noticeably warmer than the rest of the home.

“The interior of the crib was very dirty with old pieces of food. Underneath the mattress was trash, wrappers and … waffle particles,” according to the affidavit.

“The findings of the medical examiner confirmed that the infant died due to complications arising from malnutrition and dehydration,” the sheriff’s office said.

When questioned by detectives, Carrie Murray said the last time she saw her daughter before her death was on March 17, about 3 a.m., but did not see her on March 18 due to work.

“Carrie was asked by investigators about (Ruby’s) food and water intake and were informed (Ruby) was provided a sippy cup in the morning and the evening. Carrie also informed investigators that (Ruby) was usually fed waffles for all of her meals and she typically ate them in her crib because they are not table people and (Ruby) never liked someone to feed her,” the affidavit says.

Carrie Murray also admitted to not viewing the baby monitor app in months, according to investigators. When asked about the daily routine of her 4-year-old son, Murray allegedly told investigators she was unsure, including when he woke in the morning.

Mitchell Murray told police he works from home and is on his laptop a lot, both working and playing games on his PC when he is not working.

“Mitchell explained what he termed ‘crib days.’ He explained that crib days were days where (Ruby) remained in her crib all day while he worked. He claimed this would occur one to two days per week,” but he claimed he would check on her two or three times during the day, the affidavit alleges.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video from inside Ruby’s room for the final four days of her life. They found that during eight hours on March 14, Carrie and Mitchell Murray had 36 minutes of interaction with Ruby in her bedroom, gave her food once and changed her diaper once, according to the affidavit.

On March 15, Ruby was out of her crib for just under 90 minutes the entire day, investigators say.

“On March 16, there was footage of the entire day. … Review of that footage showed (Ruby) was allowed out of the crib for 4 hours and 44 minutes. The majority of that time (Ruby) was left alone on her bedroom floor. The total interaction Carrie, Mitchell and (their son) had with (Ruby) on March 16 was 9 minutes and 42 seconds,” according to the affidavit.

On March 17, Ruby was out of her crib for about five minutes for the entire day, for two diaper changes, the affidavit says.

Investigators say Ruby was never taken out of her crib on March 18.

“The total interaction Carrie, Mitchell and (their son) had with (Ruby) on March 18 was 49 seconds. (Her) diaper was not changed on March 18,” according to the arrest report.

Detectives who watched all four days of the video surveillance footage also noted that Ruby “did not exhibit normal sleeping patterns for a child and did not seem to differentiate night from day. It was also observed that there was loud rock/pop music played through the Amazon Alexa in (Ruby’s) room that appeared to interfere with her ability to sleep at times,” the affidavit says.

During a second interview, Carrie Murray allegedly admitted that she and Mitchell Murray interacted with Ruby even less during the previous fall, that they bathed her about once a week, and that Ruby had only eaten baby food once or twice and mainly received waffles, quesadillas or a sippy cup, according to the affidavit. She also stated that Ruby needed music to sleep and Green Day and Fall Out Boy would typically be played in her room all night.

The sheriff’s office alleges that the Murrays showed “a depraved indifference to human life, and knowingly engaged in conduct that created a grave risk of death” to Ruby, “thereby causing her death by failing to provide her with the appropriate nutrition and hydration leading to her death from dehydration and undernutrition.”
