Sir Keir Starmer has issued an ultimatum to Elon Musk, announcing that the government will take “fast action” to deal with the abuses of the AI tool Grok on X (Twitter).
The prime minister revealed his intentions to the weekly meeting of the Labour Parliamentary Party on a day that Ofcom launched an investigation into Mr Musk’s social media platform X after Grok was used to generate sexualised images of women and children.
Sir Keir told MPs and peers: “The actions of Grok and X are absolutely disgusting and shameful. Protecting their abusive users, rather than the women and children who are being abused shows a total distortion of priorities.
“So let me be crystal clear, we won't stand for it, because no matter how unstable or complex the world becomes, this government will be guided by its values. We'll stand up for the vulnerable against the powerful.”

In a direct message to the platform’s owner, Mr Musk, he added: “If X cannot control Grok, we will – and we'll do it fast because if you profit from harm and abuse, you lose the right to self-regulate.”
In an earlier response to ministers’ threats, Mr Musk accused the government of being “fascist” and of trying to curb free speech.
Responding to a post on X claiming the UK arrests more people for social media posts than “any other country on Earth”, Mr Musk wrote: “Real fascism is arresting thousands of people for social media posts.”
The move by the PM comes after he has suffered more than 18 months of online abuse at the hands of Mr Musk on his X platform, where the billionaire has accused Sir Keir of being complicit in the abuse of girls and popularised the insult “two-tier Keir”.
Already, technology secretary Liz Kendall has encouraged Ofcom to use “the full range of its powers” and potentially ban X in the UK.
Such a move is likely to spark a trade war with the US with senior Trump administration figures, including vice-president JD Vance, accusing the UK of attacking free speech.
Meanwhile, allies of Mr Musk in the UK have opposed the banning of Grok, including Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
But announcing its investigation, Ofcom, the UK regulator, said it was responding to “deeply concerning” reports about the images and will investigate whether X had complied with UK laws. In a statement, Ofcom said it will determine whether X “has complied with its duties to protect people in the UK from content that is illegal”.
The decision to launch the formal investigation was made after Ofcom reviewed available evidence “as a matter of urgency”. It was launched under the Online Safety Act, which gives the regulator the power to fine X or ban it.
The investigation has been welcomed by Ms Kendall. Making a statement in the Commons on Monday, she said the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) "reports criminal imagery of children as young as 11, including girls sexualised and toddlers".
She continued: "This is child sexual abuse. We've seen reports of photos being shared of women in bikinis, tied up and gagged, with bruises, covered in blood, and much, much more.
What we are seeing is a Labour government that did not have a plan, and they’re just throwing out random policies, probably to distract from the fact that they’re putting businesses in a very difficult position.
“What was happening was the business rates discussion, lots of pubs complaining, and then all of a sudden, Labour talks about banning X. I don’t think that’s a serious solution.”
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage also expressed fears that the government will end up “suppressing free speech”.

I've seen where people were complaining about it here but I've never used grok and don't care to. It does seem that many of the AI models do allow that to happen, not just grok.

7 TIMES the legal limit!!! If he was operating at that level, it shows he's built up tolerance. 
Too bad they didn't name him.i also wish they stated if it was CDL legal limit (.04) or the standard .08 limit for drivers. Not that it makes a difference legally, but it's a huge difference in the long run and also if it could have been lethal levels or not. 3.5x is still very drunk

A commercial truck driver was arrested Sunday after Lyon County deputies stopped a semi on Interstate 35 for reckless driving and determined the driver was heavily intoxicated.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mo. — An Osceola couple is facing felony charges after investigators say they failed to get medical treatment for a child suffering from a severe infection and attempted to interfere with a medical investigation into possible abuse.
According to online court records, William Robinson, born in 1982, and Keisha Morgan, born in 1990, are charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child — physical injury, a Class C felony.
In addition, Robinson is charged with felony tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution, and Morgan is charged with felony abuse or neglect of a child — no sexual contact.
According to the probable cause statements, Robinson and Morgan are accused of neglecting a juvenile for roughly a year while the child endured painful, untreated sores that medical professionals later identified as a MRSA infection — a type of staph infection that doesn’t respond to many common antibiotics, making it dangerous.
A St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office detective began investigating on Oct. 16, 2025, after school officials raised concerns about the child’s condition.
Medical staff at a hospital told investigators that the boy had sores on his buttocks “swollen to the approximate size of a baseball,” along with bruises they were told came from a fight with his brother. The child was reportedly in such severe pain that he had trouble walking or sitting.
Mother allegedly knew about the infection for a year
According to court documents, Morgan told investigators she had been aware of the sores for about a year but had not sought medical attention. She admitted to applying some form of medication but could not identify what it was. Detectives said the sores were in “different stages of healing,” indicating a long-term infection.
Medical staff said the wounds were consistent with MRSA — a dangerous bacterial infection that can lead to life-threatening complications if left untreated.
In a written statement to investigators, a medical professional warned that prolonged, untreated MRSA can spread to the bloodstream and internal organs and “negatively impact growth and development,” the statement says.
Morgan also allegedly told a Children’s Division investigator that the boy had disclosed being sexually abused by another juvenile in the home. Authorities said she failed to report that allegation until questioned by investigators.
Robinson accused of destroying urine sample
During the same hospital visit, the statement alleges Robinson intentionally poured out the child’s urine sample that had been left for medical testing. When questioned, he allegedly admitted to doing so, saying he feared what might be found in it and didn’t want Morgan to lose custody of her children.
According to the statement, he told detectives he was worried the test could reveal alcohol, marijuana or even semen.
The statement alleges Robinson admitted to knowing about the child’s sores and failing to get medical care.
Children removed from home
Following the investigation, all children in the household were removed and placed in state custody, according to the statement.
Warrants have been issued for the pair’s arrest with $25,000 bonds set.

Not shocking at all knowing the area. They definitely can't make even that alone and with charges like that, I don't figure many will be lining up to help, especially if the know the details. Now they need to test the entire school to make sure it hasn't spread to others.

And can they do that? Test the entire school for instance if some parent or two doesn't want their child tested?
Our state tends towards low bonds especially in the north. I'm talking WI. I consider that state my state regardless of which state I am in. The south might go a bit higher but nowhere near as high as I see other states do. Of course this is different than "murder" which often gets the very high or no bond.
The kid could hardly walk or sit. What the HECK is wrong with these people?!! Worried about being found out for something else/losing children (or benefits for children), etc.
