There was a sister (half or some relation) that use to post on a few forums. She did not grow up with Tammy. I believe Tammy's mother passed away. Tammy has been compared to many Jane Does mainly in Florida and none are matches. With all of the fame she had in the day, I wouldn't doubt she assumed another identity. There are so many possibilities as to what happened to her.

Teen actress disappeared more than 40 years ago and has never been found

More than 40 years have passed since a teenage actress disappeared - and her whereabouts are still a mystery today.

Tammy Lynn Leppert had a promising career ahead of her when she disappeared from Cocoa Beach, Florida, on July 6, 1983, having starred alongside Al Pacino in the 1983 film Scarface. She had also found success as a model, having competed in beauty contests and pageants since she was four years old. She eventually won a total of 280 crowns in various pageants and had dreams of becoming a huge Hollywood star.

Five days before her disappearance, the young actress was taken to hospital and was kept under the doctors’ care for three days. The medical report stated there was no evidence of drug or alcohol abuse or visible illnesses. When she returned home, however, Tammy's mom said her daughter seemed nervous and kept saying "they" would come after her. On the day of Tammy's disappearance, she went out with a male friend. He claimed they'd gotten into an argument and he dropped her off alone near the old Glass Bank building in Cocoa Beach. Surveillance footage showed her standing by herself in a nearby parking lot. Tammy then walked to a public phone and tried to call her aunt and a friend multiple times. She left a number of "urgent" messages before vanishing without a trace, never to be seen again. It comes after the medical examiner discovered a harrowing detail while examining the corpse of another child star.

According to Unsolved, Linda recalled her daughter chillingly asking, "Mom, what would you say if I told you somebody was trying to kill me?"

When Linda asked her daughter if she thought someone was trying to kill her, she simply replied, "Yes." Despite the paranoia, Tammy went on to appear in Scarface. However, she returned home just four days into filming the movie.

While filming Scarface, Tammy had stayed with family friend Walter Liebowitz. However, he said he received a call from the casting director one day informing him Tammy had suffered a breakdown on set.

"They said that it was a scene where someone was supposed to be shot and had artificial blood spurt out. And they said when Tammy was watching the scene, she started crying hysterically and it got so bad that they had to take her to a trailer," he recalled.

Tammy's condition worsened when she left the film. In the weeks after returning home, she would often refuse to eat or drink out of fear she would be poisoned. The case of her disappearance remains unsolved since she vanished.

My main theory is that she was suffering from a mental illness. Whether she eventually met with foul play or not would be a mystery!
