This week’s featured missing person — the first of 2021 — is Stephanie Ann Drnovsek, a 27-year-old woman who disappeared from Lakewood, Colorado on September 5, 1984. She left home driving her boyfriend’s car and was never seen again, and two weeks later the car was found stripped and abandoned in Denver. Her boyfriend didn’t report her missing until September 22, two days after the car turned up.


Unfortunately the only photos I have of Stephanie Drnovsek are high school yearbook photos from about 1975, nine years before she went missing. She has a butterfly tattoo on her abdomen and another, unknown tattoo on her hip, and a hysterectomy scar.


Foul play is suspected in her case.

On September 24, 1984, Stephanie Drnovosek's boyfriend contacted the Lakewood Police to report Drnovosek as a missing person. Drnovosek's boyfriend last saw Drnovosek leaving their residence located near the 10600 block of West Virginia Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado on September 5, 1984. To date Drnovosek has not made contact with her family or friends.
