San Diego Police ID Woman In 22-Year Cold Case

SAN DIEGO, CA — Investigators are seeking the public's help Thursday to generate leads in a 22-year-old case involving the death of a woman who remained unidentified until last year.

On Jan. 24, 2000, San Diego Fire Department firefighters found the body of 21-year-old Nicole Weis wrapped in burning cardboard secured with a rope in the parking lot of the College Avenue Baptist Church, 4747 College Ave., according to the San Diego Police Department.

I haven’t seen, but did they ever find out if she was really from Arkansas? I’m just curious to know why they thought that in the beginning.

How awful and who burns a body in a church parking lot? Why did they think she was from Arkansas, it really doesn't explain when they didn't know who she was why they thought that does it?

Glad she has been identified however.

Maybe she had traveled to Arkansas and had a hotel receipt from that area or something?

Not much is known about Nicole's life. She lost contact with her family in the late 1990s when she moved to Los Angeles, California from Michigan.
