The case of missing 37-year-old Huntsville realtor Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr. has escalated from a missing person case to an active abduction investigation, according to the Huntsville Police Department (HPD).

“HPD obtained critical new evidence indicating that [Dumas] was abducted on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024,” the release reads.

Dumas was last seen on surveillance footage entering a liquor store with two women on Dec. 15, according to the release.

It continues that he left the store with them, appearing unharmed.

Through the investigation, HPD says they received information that led to the identification of the women and traced them to their apartment. Further investigation confirmed their connection to Dumas and revealed additional evidence of his abduction.

As the case progressed, the police determined multiple individuals were involved in the incident

“Since uncovering these findings, HPD investigators have worked diligently to establish probable cause and hold those responsible accountable,” the release says.

As a result, arrest warrants have been issued for the following individuals:

“With assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a credible lead identifying a 450-acre area south of Memphis, TN, and extending into northern Mississippi, as a potential location for Dumas.”

“A coordinated search effort was conducted on Thursday, Feb. 6, by 20 investigators, including crime scene personnel and drone operators, from HPD, the Memphis Police Department, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and Southeastern Search Dogs to gather evidence and potentially locate Dumas,” the release continues.

This remains an active investigation and additional charges may follow as more information emerges, according to the police.

Family of missing Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas ‘struggling to find answers,’ return to normalcy

As police continue to search for answers in the case of abducted Huntsville realtor Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr. , a private investigator says he is working to bring the man’s children “some sense of normalcy” this summer.

On Tuesday, James Andrews, who is working with the family to find Dumas, launched a GoFundMe for his three children, Kai (12), Lindsi (6), and Ryili Dumas (4), titled “Help Ronnie’s Kids Find Joy Amidst Tragedy.”

“Ronnie is a dedicated father who loves his children, and he was involved in every aspect of their lives right up until the moment he was taken away from them,” the page reads.

“The family, especially his 3 children, are struggling to find answers and bring their father home. These children have already been forced to celebrate Christmas and other family events without their father, and now they have birthdays and summer approaching.”

Andrews wrote that organizers “want to help these kids take their minds off the tragedy they are living through, even if just for a short time.”

According to the GoFundMe page, all donated funds will “go directly toward helping the kids feel some sense of normalcy while their mothers and other family members continue to help them navigate this crisis.”

Only on 19: Son of Ronald Dumas Jr. gets special birthday surprise

For the past six months, when you’ve heard the name “Dumas,” it’s been about the abducted Huntsville realtor who is still missing, but Wednesday night, it was all about his son, Kai, who turned 13 years old.

As Kai walked out of the Lego store, he heard a loud combination of horns honking, police sirens, and engines revving.

“At first, I’m thinking, ‘What is this?’ That’s when everyone yelled surprise,” Kai Dumas said. “I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, did I pass out?'”

It’s no secret Kaia and his siblings have had a hard year since their father went missing and is yet to be found, but that shouldn’t stop the celebration he deserves.

“They don’t deserve the situation they’ve been put into,” said James Andrews. Andrews is the Dumas family’s private investigator.

“Some bad people put Ronnie and his family in a bad situation, and the kids are having to pay for it,” he said. “So, anything that we can do to help them at least find a few moments of happiness this summer…we’re trying to do that.”

Because Kai is a car lover, his mom Shakeria s=Samples, wanted to come up with a special way to surprise him, so she invited anyone in the community with a sweet ride to roll up and rev their engines to celebrate Kai’s13th.

“It was even better than I could have envisioned,” she said. “I pictured you know, just a few cars and him walking up, but it was amazing.”

Friends, police officers, and even strangers lined the parking lot.

“I saw the post for Kai’s birthday,” Delvin Cooper said. He brought one of the cars to the show today.

“I myself am a new dad, and I had followed the story in terms of what had happened to his father,” he said. “What happened to Kai is not his fault. It’s still nevertheless important for him to have a great day. A kid’s birthday without a dad being there death definitely is a deep void, so if I can contribute some love, that makes me happy, and I hope that makes him happy too.”

Samples said that while it won’t replace the feeling of having his father there, it will remind Kai that the community has his family’s back in the meantime.

“I just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” she said. “We appreciate you all so much.”

It is safe to say it was a 13th birthday Kai will never forget, and the family said it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of the community.

That's pretty cool.

I don't think all done sometimes makes it any easier for families even if meaning well, but doing this for kids I think is pretty cool.

Kidnapping suspect’s grandmother discusses crazy five months since she was last heard from

June 17 marks five months since Sabrina Chambers went missing.

She is one of the five suspects named in the kidnapping of Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. Although her grandmother said she reported her missing before she was named a suspect in the case.

Chambers is the only Huntsville-based suspect named in the kidnapping of Ronald Dumas junior, who disappeared in December. Police announced the charges in February.

Hardy said the last time she heard from her granddaughter was on January 17… well before police said she was a suspect.

Now, she said she gets weird phone calls that make her feel like Sabrina, or someone else, is trying to contact her.

“They just listen and then they hang up,” said Hardy.

Hardy said they are usually silent, and then when she says, ‘Sabrina, is this you?’ the person hangs up the phone.

Hardy said she actually received one of these calls Monday night, and it was the first time a voice sounding like a recording said “bye” before hanging up the phone.

Just last month, Hardy said she received notices in the mail for apartments applied for in Sabrina’s name in Florida and California.

“Sabrina knows I’m not going to go along with any wrongdoing, and I’m going to help, you know, get Sabrina out of this situation if I can,” she said.

Hardy said she is holding out hope for her granddaughter’s safe return, but ultimately, she needs closure.

“I need to have closure, and I’m not going to give up,” she said. “If they call me and tell me they found her remains, I’m going to deal with it, if they catch her, I know she’s going to have to tell her part of what she played in this, and if she has to go to jail, I’m going to deal with that as well.”

In April, Quintarius White and Kierra Clark were arrested in Memphis, but there has been no update in the case since then.

Huntsville Police did confirm to News 19 that Sabrina Chambers was reported missing before a warrant was obtained for her arrest.

Carissa Cash and Toure McLaurin are also on the run.

Hearing reveals horrifying details in the case of missing Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr.

Details shared in an Aniah’s Law hearing Friday reveal that missing Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. may have been tortured after his disappearance last year.

Dumas was last seen on surveillance footage entering a liquor store with two women, Kelisha McKinney and Sabrina Chambers, on Dec. 15. He left the store with them, appearing unharmed.

During the hearing Friday for 27-year-old Kierra Clark, who is facing charges related to the kidnapping of Dumas, both women were identified as working for a prostitution website offering a “2 for 1” special, WAAY 31 reports. Investigators believe Dumas contacted them for prostitution.

After Dumas was reported missing, McKinney was found dead from a drug overdose.

Police said Friday they had discovered text messages where Clark instructed Quintarius White, who was described in court as Chambers’ pimp, to torture Dumas, according to WAAY 31.

The texts also revealed that White informed Clark about Dumas having $7,000 in his bank account, and Clark directed White to gain access to Dumas’ phone and funds.

Although Clark was never in Madison County, authorities said they believe she orchestrated the robbery plan from afar, the outlet reports.

Testimony said text messages between Clark and White revealed plans to return to Memphis with Dumas, who was believed to be alive when they left Madison.

Ronald Dumas Jr. disappearance now considered a kidnapping | Missing

This week on “Missing,” Marni Hughes takes a look at the case of Ronald Dumas Jr., the Alabama father and realtor who’s been missing since December. Investigators are treating the case as a potential kidnapping as new details on his disappearance come to light. After not showing up for a hang out with friends, they knew something was wrong. Dumas’ car was found abandoned more than 100 miles away with no clues as to where he was.

A private investigator found the last known footage of Dumas at a convenience store with two women. This helped lead investigators to a list of five suspects, who they say all played a part in Dumas’ disappearance. Two of them have been arrested, and a manhunt is underway for the remaining suspects.

Marni speaks with Tory Styles, founding editor of Blunt Force Media Group and representative for Ronald’s family, about the search for suspects and the clues uncovered so far.

I'm glad charges are happening and justice will result hopefully. I also hope he is found.

I would add that just like a prostitute can't know who is hiring her or him, a man (most often) can't know who he is hiring either. It's not safe on either end.

Sounds very very much like the case I mentioned up thread where it starts out like a date/party then gets drugged and robbed and sometimes the victim doesn't survive the drugging.

‘Someone out there knows what happened’: Police continue search for missing Alabama realtor

Monday will mark one year since Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. was last seen, and local police are pleading with the public to share any information that could help them in his case.

“Someone out there knows what happened to Ronald Dumas Jr.,” Chief Kirk Giles said in a news release Thursday.

“We need anyone with information to speak up. Your tip could be the key to locating him and holding those responsible accountable.”

Investigators continue to work with local, state, and federal partners, and the Huntsville police stressed in the release that community assistance is “essential” in locating the remaining suspects and uncovering additional details.

“One truth remains,” Talia Berryhill, mother to all but one of Dumas’ children, said at a press conference in April.

“Someone knows something. We are asking you to please say something. Not one detail is too small.”

“Please help bring him home to his children who ask for him every day,” she continued.

Eyes turn again to Memphis in investigation into Ronald Dumas Jr.’s disappearance

It’s been more than 450 days since realtor and father of three Ronald Dumas Jr. was last seen, but his family and friends are not giving up the search.

New questions surfaced this week after a search conducted by Memphis Police and forensic investigators at a wooded site in Memphis, Tennessee. At this time, Memphis Police have not confirmed if human remains were found here, but they have confirmed an investigation is underway.

This development immediately caught the attention of the Dumas family’s spokesman, Troy Styles.

Huntsville Police confirmed that investigators partnered with the U.S. Marshals and several other agencies on a coordinated search operation last week in Memphis.

An HPD spokesperson said that there is currently no information indicating these remains found in Memphis are connected to the Dumas kidnapping investigation, but police are actively working that case and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

Styles said that although it may be a stretch to link this investigation to Dumas, he’s hopeful it brings some leads.

“This feels different. Like I said, we’ve seen this happen quite a few times where we’ve had discoveries, and we kind of waited on more pending information, but this one feels like everything could be exactly what we’re looking for,” Styles said.

Memphis Police have not confirmed the recovery of any human remains at this site.

They tell us it is just under investigation.

Memphis discovery brings renewed attention to case of missing Huntsville man

Investigators in Memphis are looking into a site where what appears to be human remains were found, more than a year after Huntsville man, Ronald Dumas, Jr., disappeared.

At this point, there is no confirmed connection to Dumas. Dumas, a Huntsville Realtor and father of three, was reported missing in December 2024.

Authorities are now investigating a site after a woman walking her dog reported finding a human skull. Troy Styles, the family media representative for Ronald Dumas Jr., says they are always watching for developments like this.

Huntsville Police say they are aware of that discovery and have been in contact with Memphis Police, but stress they are not speculating during this active investigation.
