Georgia girl, 11, missing and 'may be in danger' after fleeing home with mystery person met online: police

Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in a desperate search Friday for a missing Georgia girl whom police say "may be in danger" after fleeing her home with a suspect she met over the internet.

R’Kayla Briggs, 11, has not been seen since leaving her residence in Jonesboro on Tuesday but is still believed to be within the state of Georgia, the Clayton County Police Department said.

"Upon arrival, officers learned R’Kayla Briggs left at 3:39 p.m. through the backdoor without permission with a packed bag. Family members of R'Kayla Briggs stated they believe she is with an adult male," police said. "Family members believe R'Kayla Briggs has been planning to leave with this person for some time."

As of Friday, the identity of the individual remains a mystery.

"We don’t know the gender, we don’t know the age. We do not know what this person looks like," Clayton County Public Information Officer Julia Isaac told Fox News Digital. "We have investigated all of the leads that the family has given us and it has not panned out."

Additionally, police said "Based on the circumstances surrounding R’Kayla Briggs, we believe she may be in danger."

One of Briggs’ parents, identified by WSB-TV as Kenicia Moss, told the station that "We are asking you to bring her back because we are not going to stop."

The Clayton County Police Department says "multiple agencies and law enforcement partners working with us on this case."

This is an older article. So either the parents have this info that the police aren't releasing, OR they have reason to believe the man in the photos is not actually the suspect (or he was using someone else's photos).

‘Bring her back!’ Parents believe missing 11-year-old is with 22-year-old man headed to Texas

The search is on for an 11-year-old girl who left her home. Police believe she’s with a man.

The parents of R’Kayla Briggs believe she and a 22-year-old man are headed to Texas.

They are now warning other parents about the dangers of children meeting adults on social media.

Her parents say R’Kayla packed a bag and left home on Monday, and they believe she is in danger. She deleted her social media accounts and isn’t answering the phone.

“Bring her back. We are asking you to bring her back because we are not going to stop,” parent Kenicia Moss said.

Police say R’Kayla was taken from her home without permission. Her parents say it was a 22-year-old man R’Kayla met on Instagram who took her.

“Parents, we encourage you. Check phones. Check internet. You never know,” Moss said.

R’Kayla’s parents say the man she is with has pictures of other minors on his social media.

Police say they got information the pair went to Macon and are now headed to Texas.

The parents want the public to keep an eye out for them.

“We ask that you guys pull cameras. If you have any contact, any videos -- anything will help,” Moss said.

R’Kayla’s mother has this message for her:

“R’Kayla, we love you. We love you girl. Come home,” Moss said.

Her parents have a picture of the man, and they are urging him to do the right thing and bring their daughter home. They say they won’t rest until R’Kayla is home safe and sound.
