The Wexford County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the disappearance of 22-year-old Rebecca Park, who is reported missing and possibly endangered.

Park, who is approximately 38 weeks pregnant, was last seen willingly getting into the passenger side of a dark-colored vehicle on Monday night around 11:30 p.m. outside a relative's home on South 21 1/2 Road.

She had arranged to be picked up but did not disclose to the witness who would be picking her up, the sheriffs office said.

Deputies said her cellphone was later discovered on a two-track near the location where she was last seen.

Attorneys to present evidence in Rebecca Park murder case during 4-day hearing​

The court case against the biological mother of Rebecca Park, who was murdered in November, is moving forward, 9&10 News reports.

Dates are now set for Cortney Bartholomew’s preliminary hearing, during which the judge will decide if there is enough proof to go to trial after hearing arguments from the prosecution and defense. The hearing is scheduled for Nov. 11 and 23-25 in Wexford County District Court. the report said.

Bartholomew is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to cause a miscarriage or still birth, and removing a dead body without a medical examiner’s permission. If convicted, she faces mandatory life in prison.

Her husband, Bradley Bartholomew, faces the same charges. However, the court has not set a date for his preliminary hearing.

The judge granted Bartholomew permission to use a computer to review discovery related to the charges against him.

His defense argued that reviewing thousands of pages of documents by hand was inefficient and increased the risk of information being leaked.

Bartholomew and his wife, Cortney, are both charged in connection with the killing of Rebecca Park and her unborn baby.

While Bartholomew did not appear in court on Tuesday, both he and Cortney are expected back in court Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. for a preliminary hearing.

Family remembers Rebecca Park on her birthday, their first without her​

Family and close friends gathered Wednesday at a cemetery near in Lake City to celebrate what would have been the 23rd birthday of Rebecca Park, who was killed alongside her unborn baby in November of last year.

Stephanie Park, Rebecca’s adoptive mother, organized the memorial gathering featuring cake and a balloon release near where Rebecca grew up.

The family chose balloons over sky lanterns due to concerns over wildfire risks during the summer, focusing the day on celebrating Rebecca’s life and summer memories rather than the circumstances of her death.

This week marks what the family calls “birthday week,” as Rebecca’s brother and sister also celebrate birthdays during the same timeframe. The family plans to maintain their tradition of gathering each year. “I just I want everybody to remember her birthday and not the other day,” Stephanie Park said. “Her birthday would would have been a happy day. And we always celebrated her birthday. She always had cake and balloons and a theme and friends and stuff. And the whole family always comes together for birthdays. And this is something we call birthday week because we have multiple multiple of her.”

Stephanie Park recalled her daughter’s affection for the summer season and outdoor activities. “I’m choosing to remember how she was when she was alive. And the joy that she had for outside. And flowers and butterflies and just all this good stuff for summer. She loved swimming and and going camping,” Park said. “I know she’s up there enjoying her baby and having even the nicest birthday she can.”

Rebecca Park’s fiancé testifies in murder case involving Cortney and Bradley Bartholomew​

A preliminary hearing began in Wexford County for Cortney Bartholomew and her husband, Bradley Bartholomew, who are charged with murder in the deaths of Cortney’s biological daughter, Rebecca Park and Park’s unborn child.

The hearing is the first of five scheduled days where prosecutors will present evidence to determine whether the case will proceed to trial.

Park’s body was found last November in the Manistee National Forest, located near the home of Cortney and Bradley Bartholomew. The body of her unborn baby boy was never recovered.

The prosecution called its first witness, Richard Falor, who is Park’s fiancé and the father of her unborn baby boy. During his testimony, Falor revealed that he had been in a personal relationship with Cortney Bartholomew prior to dating Park. “It would be the sexual relationship. And when did that start? There. April 2023. And how long did that relationship last? Till September 2023,” Falor said. Falor testified that he began dating Park in October 2023, the month after his relationship with Cortney Bartholomew ended. He told the court that during his brief relationship with Cortney Bartholomew, she spoke about wanting to expand her family. “She said she wanted another kid,” Falor said. “She told me that she couldn’t have one.”

Regarding the events prior to Park’s disappearance, Falor testified that her water broke the night before she went missing, prompting a friend to drive them toward the hospital.

Cortney Bartholomew attempted to stop the vehicle during the trip to take Park herself, but they proceeded to the hospital and were later sent home without delivering the baby. When asked about Park’s arrival the following night, after spending time with Cortney, Falor testified about her absence. “Did she come home. Nope,” Falor said.

Prosecutors entered more than 93 text messages exchanged between Falor and Cortney Bartholomew into evidence, sent in the days following Park’s disappearance. In the messages, Cortney Bartholomew mentioned giving Park $2,000 from an inheritance, though Falor testified he never saw any inheritance funds.

In one text message, Cortney Bartholomew wrote, “Angie said she would help her get away from you because she has told me Becca wanted away from you.”

In another message regarding Park’s whereabouts, Cortney Bartholomew wrote, “For me to call her. That Rebecca left with someone in a black vehicle.”

The preliminary hearing in Wexford County is scheduled to resume Nov. 9. Further testimony from Falor is set to continue during additional hearing sessions scheduled from Nov. 23 through Nov. 25.
