Spokesperson, or someone required to authorize public statements doesn’t work weekends?
That could be. The thing is though on Friday one newspaper had stated a warrant was confirmed. They said no questions could be answered until Monday. Then on Monday all they did was come out and say there was a warrant. We already knew that so it was kind of that we expected more, there was nothing we waited for in the press release until Monday imo.

Reward increases to $125K for information leading to missing California City boys

The reward for information leading to missing California City boys Orrin and Orson West now stands at $125,000.

That’s an increase of $2,000 from the previous amount, the new money coming from another $1,000 through the Youtube channel of Ron Licciardi, and $1,000 from Bakersfield resident Jennifer Nobles.

The amounts donated are as follows: $30,000 from adoptive family, $25,000 from California City, $20,000 from cannabis company Traditional Co., 10,000 each from Greenstone Cannabis Dispensary, Preferred Towing, West Coast Realty and Victory Baptist Church, $5,000 from Murphy’s Pool and Spa, $4,000 from Licciardi and $1,000 from Nobles.

Recent letter/post from paternal grandmother.

From the letter the grandmother stated; we made the heart wrenching choice to place their four brothers (my other babies) in the hands of the FBI for their protection.

Is there any animosity between the the adoptive parents families? Just a thought.

I don't know. The AF/adopted father is/was living with his mother but it was "rumored" his wife was not, at least at times. Every time someone in the family writes something like this, I see things in the letters that I sometimes think is the real purpose just as with the part you highlight. She makes it sound as if the other children are in FBI protective custody and as if it was their decision which is not the case at all from anything I have understood. It also almost implies there are "people" out there after the other children... I find it far fetched...

The writers so far to my knowledge have been only her and her other son Jamal, who is the head of the NAACP I gather. There always seems to be some type of comment in them that is not necessary and seems to have some purpose. Imo of course and others remark on it as well... Many people feel the family is involved (I have not necessarily went there yet) and are not shy about saying so all over the internet. Perhaps such statements are a weak attempt to point in a direction? Not sure.

KGET Exclusive: BPD discusses Orrin, Orson West investigation on 100th day of their disappearance

Bakersfield Police Department Public Information Officer Sergeant Robert Pair joined 17 News at Sunrise to discuss the disappearance of 4-year-old Orrin and 3-year-old Orson West in California City. They were reported missing 100 days ago.

“Every day there are developments and the unfortunate reality is that we can’t come out and talk about those developments,” said Sgt. Pair. “Right now there’s information if it’s released could compromise the integrity of the investigation.”

“We are going to continue to process the information, continue to follow up on tips and leads and find out the facts. We are not going to stop until that happens.”

Glad they know things and are wise enough to keep it under their vests so justice can be served in this case. Patience, grasshoppers.

Another one where sometimes I wonder if they are doing anything in this case... Sigh.

Vigil held for Cal City boys five months after they went missing
A prayer vigil and protest for Orrin and Orson West took place across the street from the Bakersfield Police Department on Friday evening. Attendees were demanding answers about the investigation for the missing boys.

"We are not going to give up until we get answers, bring the boys home, and get justice," said Rosanna Wills, cousin of one of the missing boys biological father.

Friday was the five month anniversary of when the boys were first reported missing. They were originally reported missing on Dec. 21, 2020.

The people at the protest were upset because they feel like BPD is not giving them answers. "They are not speaking to the public, they are not giving us anything. If they would give us anything, if we had some type of hope, then we would just continue to do our quite prayer, our marches, and our searches, but we feel this is necessary to get their attention." said Destiny Grandson.

A reward of at least $100,000 for information leading to the boys arrest is available. Despite the reward being offered, there are still no promising leads at this point.

We reached out to BPD who said they have no updates on the investigation other than it is still active and a top priority.

According to the latest facts released by BPD, all associated family members including the adoptive and biological parents have been interviewed by police, some on multiple occasions.

Police said this case "is not a cold case." BPD said a detective has been assigned as the full0time lead investigator along with a team of detectives and crime analysts.

BPD said they are working closely with experts from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, along with 'technical experts' from the FBI.

This was yesterday, but notable as it's now been 6 months. :(

California City boys Orson and Orrin West remain missing nearly 200 days later

It’s been nearly 200 days since Orson and Orrin West were reported missing in California City.

The Bakersfield Police Department is in charge of the investigation. BPD Chief Greg Terry joined 17 News at Sunrise on Wednesday to discuss the latest in the case. Chief Terry said it is not a cold case and the department will continue to release updates periodically.

“Make no mistake, this is very important to us,” Chief Terry said. “A lot of resources have been devoted [to this case] and we will work until we have answers.”

Duty Ron gives updates on Orrin and Orson West there is some good information in this video. So sad that it's been 200 days and still no sign of the boys something is definitely not right here. Kids don't just vanish into thin air I am so glad so many people have picked up the torch on this case so to speak and keeping attention and pressure on this case.

California City boys Orson and Orrin West remain missing 7 months later

It’s been exactly seven months since two young boys from California City were reported missing. The search for them continues.

The two boys, Orson and Orrin West, were reported missing Dec. 21, 2020 — 212 days ago, and police have yet to find them.

Tonight, the family gathered outside of the Bakersfield Police Department on Truxtun Avenue to host a prayer vigil for the boys. Rosanna Wills, biological cousin of Orson and Orrin West said she “just wants to keep their name and story alive…and to let the community know we are still looking for them.”

Friend of the family, Keisha Stevenson, said that over the seven months the boys have been missing there has been “little to no updates on the case.” She continued “somebody knows something…we want answers.”
