So sad, but nothing we didn't expect.

If the baby was still there, apparently it was a recent death.

So it's doubtful they were worried about having to explain where some child went that hasn't been seen for months or something.

I wonder if they halted trash pickup in the area, or just got lucky that it hadn't been picked up.
Sounds like he wasn't found directly in the complex, but a "nearby" dumpster.

I'm in a complex and I used to think we had pickup twice a week BUT it for sure is once a week like clockwork. They never miss.

Another complex across the back yard from us has once per week. Like clockwork I hear the truck and the backup bell same day every week.

Again, I actually think it's twice for us.

Whatever the case, this baby was recently put there and likely when he died as well, so it was also likely recently.

Even if the dumpster wasn't at their complex, it is very likely it was at another apartment complex imo. Several surround us, that's very common that there are several in an area if not many. Just my thinking.

Could be a business but either way I'm sure pick up is routine and regular most likely.

Trash might not have ran on Monday due to holiday and I think they found him yesterday so possibly only Monday and Tuesday it would have ran at all. He was reported missing on Sunday.

Clayton County infant found dead; Father charged with murder as investigation expands

A day after the body of six-month-old Nnakai Pratt was discovered in the backyard of a home in Riverdale, the baby's father is charged with murder.

Clayton County Police said the baby's body was found on a property on Green Valley Road that backs up to the apartment complex along Valley Hill Road.

Baby Nnakai's father, Antonio Pearce, is being held in jail. On Wednesday afternoon, police announced Nnakai's twin sister, has been removed from their mother's custody by the the Department of Family and Children Services.

Police said at this point, "the mother's role in this incident is still under investigation."

Warrants state Pearce said this happened at an apartment in the complex he described as a "stash house." He told officers he had 3lbs. of marijuana and more than $6,000 cash inside the apartment. He also initially told responding officers that Nnakai, his twin sister and their mother were with him at the time Nnakai disappeared.

Detectives quickly grew suspicious of Pearce’s version of events, saying the facts “surrounding Nnakai’s disappearance were questionable.”

Police said they also recovered evidence and talked with witnesses who contradict Pearce's timeline of events. Pearce was arrested late Sunday night on unrelated charges.

On Oct. 14, the body of an infant was located in a backyard on Green Valley Road and later positively identified as Nnakai Pratt.

Pearce now faces several charges including malice murder, first-degree cruelty to children, aggravated assault and battery, tampering with evidence, concealment of death, unlawful disposal of a body, false statements and false reporting.

11Alive learned the mother did not live in the complex. She was staying at hotel on Highway 85 in Riverdale. A warrant stated that surveillance video put Pearce at this same hotel the night before Nnakai disappeared.

So now it was not a dumpster but a back yard. Can't count on news as usual.

I wondered as it said crime scene tape and LE were around the dumpster and a spot in I think they said woods, or a wooded area. So his body could have been on the ground or buried and maybe baby things in the dumpster or they taped it off to search it as well.

But was the baby with him at any time on that video?

Clayton County parents charged after baby found discarded in trash bag

Nnakai was last seen alive arriving at his mother’s apartment just after midnight Sunday, records show.

A rattled Clayton County community is grappling with questions after police said two parents did the unthinkable: tried to hide the body of their 6-month-old son after one of them killed him and discarded him in a trash bag.

The tragic saga started Sunday morning when baby Nnakai Pratt’s father, Antonio Pearce, 38, allegedly told Clayton police an incredible tale. He said his son was kidnapped by robbers who took drugs from his “stash house” at gunpoint, according to warrants for his arrest.

Police give update on death of Clayton County baby, bond denied for mother and father

A judge denied bond for the mother and father of a 6-month-old baby who was found dead after being reported missing.

The Clayton County medical examiner’s autopsy report says six-month-old Nnakai Pratt was last seen alive just after midnight Sunday the 12th when Antonio Pearce picked up Nnakai and his twin sister from their mother’s home.

Police say the baby died of blunt force trauma to the head, and his body was covered with insects when found.

Police say it was tough on those who found Nnakai.

Clayton County Magistrate Judge John Parker denied bond for Pearce on malice murder and other charges as we learned more about how police allege he tried to cover up his crime before he claimed armed robbers had snatched his son from a car seat.

The twins’ mother Necolette Pratt will also stay jailed without bond, accused of lying and helping cover up her son’s death. Both parents face preliminary hearings in November.

The twin sister of the baby killed is now in Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) custody.

Clarification.
On Tuesday, police found the body in a trash bag, in the wooded area near where Pearce had reported the supposed robbery, WANF said.

Initial reports indicated that police had found the child’s body in a dumpster. Police later said he had been found in the backyard of a home off Green Valley Road.
