6-month-old baby missing after being taken in Clayton County, police say

A six-month-old baby was taken in Clayton County early Sunday and is missing, police say.

The Clayton County Police Department says at this time there are no leads on possible suspects or a vehicle. The baby, identified as Nnakai Pratt, was taken from a location on Valley Hill Road in Riverdale.

Officers responded to the location for the report of a missing child just before 8:30 a.m. CCPD says the baby was taken in an unknown direction.

The baby boy weighs 11 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.

"Pratt was placed on GCIC/NCIC as missing," CCPD said on Facebook, referring to the Georgia Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center. "If you have any information or make contact with Nnakai Pratt, please contact the Clayton County Police Department at 770-477-3747 or dial 911 immediately."

In a statement to 11Alive, the department added:

The Clayton County Police Department takes the disappearance of 6-month-old Nnakai Pratt with the utmost seriousness. Once reliable information was received, officers, including supervisory personnel, immediately began an active search and have been working continuously to locate the child.

A missing child is always treated as a critical and urgent matter. At this time, no additional information is available, but updates will be provided as soon as new and verified details emerge.

Warrant reveals details surrounding death of 6-month-old baby in Clayton County

A 112-page arrest warrant obtained by 11Alive gives a closer look into the unfortunate events that led up to the death of baby Nnakai Pratt. The document highlights the inconsistencies in the story from the child's father, Antonio Pearce, who initially reported the baby missing.

When Pearce first spoke to police, he told officers that robbers held him at gunpoint and that the suspects fled with Nnakai after taking him from the car seat, authorities said.

Initially, Pearce reported Nnakai's twin sister missing, and then corrected himself and told officers it was Nnakai. Officers also noted that Pearce didn't know how to spell Nnakai's name and was unaware of the twins' birthday when asked to file a police report.

The twins' mother, Necolette Pratt, allegedly told the officer that Pearce shook Nnakai and claimed he always favored the twin girl over the boy, the warrants indicate.

Officers spent three days searching for Nnakai, with help from K-9 cadaver dogs, bloodhounds, and drones. They found the baby's body steps from the apartment complex with help from digital forensics, which helped trace Pearce's phone around the complex. According to the warrant, forensics shows Pearce paused at the fence line of the homes that back up to his Riverdale apartment complex.

"The body of an infant was discovered in the backyard of a home on Green Valley Lane," detectives said. "The infant was later positively identified as 6-month-old Nnakia Pratt."

Investigators said they found Nnakai's body inside a trash bag that matched other trash bags found in Pearce's vehicles and home. They also found a glove covered in blood in his car.

Autopsy reports revealed that Nnakai's cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Didn't even know their birthday or how to spell his name. Some dad.

Pretty dam*ed stupid too. Carried his phone while looking to dispose of the poor child. Disposed of him near his own residence.

When did he discover he reported the wrong twin missing? Upon a diaper change? Had to say that. What a stupid but evil POS.

RIP baby.
