Human remains found in Milanville ID'd as missing woman from NY

The remains of a NY woman, missing since 2004, were found in the remote woods of Damascus Township in April.

Human remains found in Milanville ID'd as missing woman from NY​

Human remains found in Damascus Township in April of last year have been identified, according to a release issued by Wayne County Coroner Edward Howell.

The decedent, identified as Selina M. Hoheusle, "...was reported missing from the Narrowsburg, New York area on June 13, 2004. At the time she went missing, she was 45 years old."

She was discovered April 3, 2020 "...on a remote area on High Bridge Road, near Milanville..." by "...an individual who was picking up trash alongside the road." The office returned to the scene in May 2021 to gather additional evidence during the course of the investigation.

The manner of death has been ruled a homicide. The release notes that "...while the primary cause of death is inconclusive due to the span of years between death and discovery, and complicated by advanced decomposition to skeletal remains, the evidence affirms that this death was inflicted by another person."
