California authorities launch search for girl who hasn’t been seen in at least 1 year​

Authorities in Santa Barbara County launched a search for a 9-year-old girl who has not been seen in a year, and who has not been seen in a photograph in two.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office began searching for Melodee Buzzard on Tuesday after a school administrator reported she hadn’t been at school in quite some time.

Deputies attempted to contact Melodee and her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, at their home in Lompoc, but the elementary school student was not there, and “no clear explanation was provided for her whereabouts.”

Although the missing persons case is only one-day-old, detectives have been unable to confirm a single recent sighting in about a year. The most recent photograph they were able to locate was taken at least two years ago, officials said.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about Melodee, potential sightings or contact in the past year, to come forward.

“Even small details may be critical in helping investigators ensure her safety,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote in a news release.

As it was Idaho, I am wondering if it is like the FLDS who took the Fischer children. Especially if they were paranoid of the government.

Utah too. Lots of such. Lots of home schooling too... I keep wondering if there was anywhere she could have sent her to be home schooled, like with another family...

I have had some this year and have one upcoming--outpatient surgeries. They like to see you with a driver and someone to be with that night of at home, and then usually from there you are pretty much fine. Maybe healing a bit but fine. I even with my last one told them I had no one to stay but could make sure someone checked with me several times that night by phone and would call 911 if I didn't answer. So they prefer someone at home with you for that day but they let me not do that.

Point is too that having a 9 year old with you would be fine, just so someone else is there with you that knows a number to call if anything was wrong.

I keep having the off the wall thought that maybe it was for cosmetic surgery... I guess the wigs led me to that thought...

Heck it could be just getting teeth out or some such too...

Yeah, I just went through it this week with a phone call and scheduling. Even if I had a minor kid at home, that would be fine. It's mostly for the sedation/liability imo that first night. I always come out of it just fine and quickly imo. Last time I just had my sister check on me by text. I told her what to do if I didn't answer and who to call (she isn't even in my city). They preferred of course I have someone with me but I didn't.

Okay. I hadn't finished the second News Nation one I linked yet. Just listening to some again now. She told him about a fake license plate place online you can order plates that look real... He has OK plates which came up in court too... Etc., etc.

Good Lord. So she cut out the pics from the missing posters and he says they are lined on her couch. She also has a body pillow that has Melodee's clothes on it as if it is Melodee... On the couch...

He is saying she built up in her head that he isn't a paralegal, yada, yada, that he doesn't have an office and so on. Well I myself doubt some of those claims like he definitely is NOT an officer of the court as he stated he was and so on. Let's remember too he has OK plates but serves papers in CA...

He is asked to clarify if cops were involved with him seeing AB. He says he went on his own but the 2nd day they took him aside before he went in and stopped him and said he had to report anything he learned to them.

Okay. Really don't have time for this but doing it anyhow. She gave him her keys to go copy in case she got arrested for MB's disappearance. He was to give them back to her that night or some such but she thought he gave her copies but kept originals, yada, yada. That's kind of what I thought the key thing was--he said so if she was arrested he could get her things out for her that mattered so she didn't lose them, etc.

he claims she gets most of her things online, food, toiletries, wigs, etc. That she ordered boxes while he was there from Walmart to pack things up from the house. Said she said she has a shopping addition. He not sure where she gets the money. He said she was deleting one day her Amazon account, her email account, changing bank account....

I'm curious to know if she recorded all days he visited or just once she got suspicious of him...

I looked it up and CA is a two party recording state or one that requires all parties be aware they are being recorded. We are a one party state. So I'd think in CA that recording could NOT be used in court if he was unaware of it... So....? How and why was it allowed?

Right now I'm feeling a lot less positive about MB being alive... If she was having keys copied and worried about going to jail over her disappearance, it seems clear that under no circumstnaces did she plan to clear this up by telling where MB was/is. Some probably made up couple is no different than Casey Anthony with the nanny or Lori Daybell who didn't give imaginary but lied and said JJ was with her friend, etc... The kids were dead in both those cases or in any other where such false sh*t was provided... I'm assuming the zoo couple was false but who knows...

I just don't get how you raise a child from infancy to the age of 9 and at that point would not long ago do something to her... In CA, Caylee cramped her style and she never wanted to be a mom most likely. In Daybell, same thing imo plus all the weird culty sh*t. So what was the reason in this one...?? IF she did something to her.
