TUSKEGEE, Ala. (WSFA) - A reward is now being offered for information that helps police find a Tuskegee man who went missing nearly two weeks ago.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers said Monday that a $1,000 reward is being offered in the case of Marquez Duncan Jr., who was last seen by friends at his home on Feb. 23.

Duncan, 22, is six feet tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He was last seen wearing black gym shorts.

Family members said it’s out of his character for “Quez” to leave for long periods of time without communicating with his mother, father or friends.

They’re pleading with the public, asking anyone with information on his disappearance to come forward.

Family desperate to find son who vanished from Tuskegee, Alabama​

It’s been more than three weeks since the family of 22-year-old Marquez Duncan has spoken with their son. The latter is now considered a critically missing person from the Tuskegee, Alabama, community.

Friday, News 3 spoke with Duncan’s father from Douglasville, Georgia, about a missing child’s pain.

“I’m very troubled, his mother, his step-mother, we are very worried that something has gone wrong,” said Duncan.


Chief Loyd Jenkins with the Tuskegee Police Department says they are working with investigators at multiple state and federal agencies, trying to generate leads and information in the case.

“Somebody knows something, and that is what we are trying to track down leads and information because you just don’t disappear into thin air. We just are asking anybody if you have seen him in passing or gave him a ride somewhere or anything, let us know which direction to go in,” said Jenkins.

Tragic Update: Body identified as missing Tuskegee man Marquez Duncan​

Tuskegee’s police chief confirms the body of a man discovered April 1st has been identified as a Tuskegee man who has been missing since February.

Chief Lloyd Jenkins confirms 22-year-old Marquez Duncan was identified as the person located along Alabama Avenue on April 1st.

Jenkins says an active homicide investigation is ongoing. A manner of death has not been released at this point. The body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.

Information sought in Tuskegee murder investigation​

The Tuskegee Police Department is searching for suspects in connection to the murder of a former Tuskegee University student.

The remains of 23-year-old Marquez Duncan were found on April 1 at the corner of Alabama Avenue and Avenue B in Tuskegee. The location is just a four minute drive from Tuskegee University.


Tuskegee Police Chief Lloyd Jenkins said between the time he went missing and when his body was found, no one came forward with any information on his whereabouts.

“We hadn’t got any information from anybody saying they made contact with him during that time period from February 23rd to where we discovered the human remains which we later identified as Marquez,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins said the cause of death and a motive is still unknown at this time, but they are treating this as a homicide investigation.

“I really can’t go into detail on the things that were found, but right now, we are working it as a homicide investigation,” Jenkins said.

So far, no suspects have been identified. Detectives continue to search for who’s responsible.
