'I won't stop until we find her' | Colerain Township father pleads for help in finding endangered missing teen

The family of 16-year-old Madison Fields is pleading for information on her whereabouts after she went missing six days ago.

The Colerain Township Police Department issued an Endangered Child Alert for Fields Friday night.

Fields' father, Tyler Hirn, said his daughter was last seen around 4 p.m. on Feb. 13.

Hirn said she left the InTown Suites in Colerain Township, where her family is staying, to meet up with a boy she met online.

"She was supposed to meet a boy named Josh, who was 18, is what her sister said," Hirn said.

Hirn said Fields had been messaging the boy on an app called Sessions. He said it is an app that deletes messages after they have been sent.

'It's breaking us down': West Side family continues searching for missing 16-year-old
A Colerain teenager has been missing for more than a week, and her family has been working around the clock to find her.

Madison Fields, 16, was last seen around 4 p.m. on February 13. Her parents say she was last seen leaving the InTown Suites on Colerain Avenue, where they were staying at the time.

"Nobody should go through this. It's breaking us down," Hirn said.

"I'm punching in anything and everything to find her. I can't just stop looking," said Carrie Hirn, Fields' mother.

Not knowing where their daughter is at is almost more than the Hirns can handle as they search to find her.

"It's day nine of her missing, and we're gathered here just to put more flyers out and try to get her face out there more. As much as we can so somebody will say something," Tyler Hirn said.

As word spreads and the search continues, her parents want their daughter to know they're trying to find her.

"We're definitely not mad at her. We just wanted her to come home," Tyler Hirn said.

Colerain Township police say they were notified of her disappearance on February 16 and began their investigation.

New York man faces sexual exploitation charges amid search for Colerain Township teen

A New York man is facing federal sexual exploitation charges amid an ongoing search for a missing Colerain Township teenager.

Madison Fields, a 16-year-old girl from Colerain Township, has been missing since Feb. 13.

Kyle Lawrence, 43, of Buffalo, New York, was arrested on Thursday night and appeared in federal court on Friday.

Investigators are continuing to search for Fields and the Ohio Attorney General's Office said the case has been upgraded to an endangered missing juvenile.

Colerain Township Police said Lawrence hasn't been charged in connection with Fields' disappearance. Officers did confirm that Lawrence had previous interactions with the teenager.

According to documents, on Feb. 16, Colerain Township police began investigating the circumstances surrounding Fields’ disappearance.

During that investigation, officers reviewed video from the teenager’s home and discovered that in January, she entered a black Jeep Grand Cherokee with New York license plates.

License plate readers and receipts confirm that Lawrence allegedly rented the vehicle and that Lawrence and Fields stayed at a Cincinnati hotel together on Jan. 31, two weeks before she went missing, according to federal investigators.

According to an affidavit, Lawrence said he communicated with Fields on Snapchat and traveled to the Cincinnati area twice in January to meet her.

On Thursday, FBI agents in Buffalo conducted a search warrant at Lawrence's residence and took several devices, which they said contained child sexual abuse material.

Lawrence has been charged with transportation with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, travel with the intent to engage in illicit conduct and transportation of child pornography.

In 2024, federal investigators said online vigilantes claimed Lawrence tried to meet a 15-year-old girl in Canada.

"We thank Madison's family and the public for their continued support and assistance in this investigation," said Colerain Township police chief Edwin C. Cordie III. "Colerain Police and our partners are working day and night to find Madison and bring her home."

Man federally charged in connection with missing teen held at Butler County Jail

A New York man facing federal charges in connection with a missing Colerain Township teenager is now locked up at the Butler County Jail.

Kyle D. Lawrence, 43, was arrested last week at his Buffalo home on federal sexual exploitation charges, including one that could put him in prison for life if convicted.

He was booked into the Butler County Jail at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and held overnight without bond. Jail records show he is on a “federal hold.”

As of Tuesday morning, Lawrence has no court appearances scheduled in Cincinnati federal court.

He made his initial court appearance on the charges last week in New York.

The charges are:
  • Transportation with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity (a crime punishable by at least 10 years and up to life in prison)
  • Travel with the intent to engage in illicit conduct (up to 30 years in prison)
  • Transportation of child pornography (five to 20 years in prison).
A multi-agency effort continues into the whereabouts of Madison Fields, 16.

Investigators confirmed Lawrence had “previous interactions” with the missing teen —including staying at a Cincinnati hotel together in January, just weeks before she vanished, federal court records show.

Lawrence told FBI agents he communicated with the minor from Colerain on Snapchat and traveled to the Cincinnati area twice in January to meet up, according to an affidavit. He used the location services on Snapchat to locate the minor when he picked her up.

Lawrence also has a history of documented reports involving minors.

He has not, however, been charged directly in connection with her disappearance, federal officials say.

After his arrest, Lawrence admitted to communicating with Madison on Snapchat and traveling from Buffalo to Cincinnati twice in January to meet her, an affidavit shows.

It also says Lawrence told the FBI he used Snapchat’s location services to find and pick her up during these visits.

He was already on the FBI’s radar after a “citizen vigilante group” confronted him in Canada in May 2024 for allegedly traveling there to have sexual contact with a purported 15-year-old girl. Agents in Buffalo had previously been in contact with Lawrence over that.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) also received two previous cyber tips about child exploitation activity linked to his Snapchat account.

On Thursday, Feb. 26, FBI agents in Buffalo searched his house and seized several electronic devices with child sexual abuse material.

'Want her to come home': Cheektowaga man under investigation after 16-year-old Ohio girl was reported missing

A family is searching for their 16-year-old daughter, Madison Fields, who has been missing from Colerain Township, near Cincinnati, since mid-February.

"We just want her to come home," said Tyler Hirn.

Madison's parents, Tyler and Carrie Hirn, have been pleading for answers. They formed a search party on February 22.

"We're gathered here just to put more flyers out, try to get her face out there more, as much as we can, so somebody will say something," said Hirn.

Now, investigators have turned their attention to a Cheektowaga man, Kyle D. Lawrence, more than 400 miles away.

Last Thursday, authorities raided his home in Cheektowaga, seizing his laptop and phone.

According to court documents, Lawrence admitted to having child sex abuse material on those devices. He also allegedly told agents he had communicated with a minor through Snapchat and then traveled to the Cincinnati area to meet up with her twice in January.

"Nobody should go through this. It's breaking us down. I'm doing anything and everything to find her. Like, I can't just stop looking," said Tyler and Carrie Hirn at a search last month.

Lawrence is in custody in Ohio on charges related to traveling with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. He has not been charged directly in connection with Madison Fields' whereabouts.

Federal court documents do not name Madison, but Colerain Township Police confirm that Lawrence is believed to have had previous interactions with her.

New York man held without bond in connection with missing Colerain teen

The New York man who previously had contact with a missing teenager from Colerain Township is being held without bond as he faces federal charges.

Kyle Lawrence, 43, is on a federal hold at Butler County Jail after he was arrested at his Buffalo home and charged with transportation to engage in criminal sexual activity, travel with intent to engage in illicit conduct and transportation of child pornography.

While Lawrence has not been charged with her disappearance, U.S. attorneys said that he drove a 20-hour round trip in a snowstorm to pick up the teenager to have sex and took her to a hotel in Kentucky. Prosecutors also said he had a photo of the girl on his phone.

The attorney called the facts of the case “disturbing,” and said Lawrence admitted to having suicidal thoughts and a history of substance abuse. The US attorney said his mental health issues, combined with the alleged crimes, are reasons for his detainment.

The U.S. attorney believes Lawrence will be indicted Wednesday. His next court appearance is set for Friday.

The indictment charges Lawrence with transportation with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and transportation of child pornography. In total, Lawrence could serve anywhere from five years to life in prison, if found guilty.

While he has not been charged in connection to the disappearance of Madison Fields, the Colerain Township teen, Lawrence is accused of efforts to engage in illegal sexual activity with fields.

FBI: Man at center of Madison Fields investigation linked to another teen's case

After a month-long search, 16-year-old Madison Fields was found safe inside a hotel room in Putnam County, Florida.

Now, nearly a week after the FBI located the Colerain Township teenager, a spokesperson in the FBI's Washington, D.C. office confirmed new details about the man they say she was with.

WLWT Investigates has learned his last name is Negron. The FBI has not released his full identity, but confirms he is currently in an undisclosed location in Tennessee, where he is from.

Agents also uncovered a previous case from 2024 linking Negron to another teenage girl.

According to the FBI, Negron had been under investigation for transporting a 17-year-old from Texas across state lines for sex, but at the time, local prosecutors did not file charges.

The FBI said it has been in talks with the U.S. Attorney's Office in the South District of Ohio discussing Federal charges related to Madison Fields' disappearance.
