Canada LILY & JACK SULLIVAN: Missing from Pictou County, Nova Scotia - 2 May 2025 - Ages 6 & 4

Lily Sullivan, 6, and Jack Sullivan, 4, were reported missing around 10 a.m. Friday. They were last seen on Gairloch Road in Lansdowne Station.

Police believe the siblings wandered away from their home and say there is no information to suggest they were abducted.
<snip>
Martell says he and Malehya Brooks-Murray asked Lily and Jack to quiet down on Friday morning to let the baby sleep.

He estimates it took up to 20 minutes to notice the two children were gone.

“A few minutes went by, I heard nothing. Got up, went out in the kitchen, checked everything, I seen they weren’t there. Checked their bedrooms and they weren’t there. So I looked out the backyard, that’s the only other place they would go, and their boots were gone. The door, the sliding door, was closed. Usually they don’t close the door, I usually have to remind them, remind them to close the door over and over,” he says.

Martell says he then jumped in his vehicle and started looking for them.

I don't know what to think. The story that they were in their bedroom with the one year old baby sleeping is a strange story of itself. A one year old is sure ok to be left sleeping in its cot and the parents should be taking care of breakfast for the 4 and 6 year old IMO. Nothing in the story makes sense including her leaving with the baby and not seeming to care about her "missing" kids. Why would she not care? Perhaps because she knows they are already dead and the police operation is a recovery one?
They don't strike me as the type to have a routine and make the kids breakfast but hard to say. I don't even assume them taking care of the baby is true necessarily.

Yeah her leaving makes it pretty odd especially when she gave the same story he did. The only thing I can figure it is to show her family she was not part of it and/or refuses to get in deeper with him and something he did and is possibly assisting LE.

Personally I think he at least will end up charged but when is anyone's guess...

You know what i am wondering is if when the search was paused, whether the perp moved the kid's bodies from wherever they were hidden originally to somewhere that was searched.

Possible but you'd also think they'd worry they were being watched at that point. I think it possible they were never buried near them. I never understand why perps do that as all should know nearby areas for sure are going to be searched but I suspect in some cases it is lack of time and they stupidly believe their story will be believed but in this case they had days of time if this happened earlier.

Did CPS tell the mother to leave the house with the baby because the house is unfit? Or is this a rumor that I accidentally stumbled upon?

ETA: PROBABLE RUMOR

She didn't seem to care about the conditions when she moved her and her kids in, in the first place.

I keep thinking about when a 3-year-old was even seen going into the woods and it still wasn't until 3 days later and approx. 5 miles away that he was found and the only reason he was found at that time was because he was near a pipeline clearing and a searcher was walking through there and was close enough that he could hear he boy making sounds.

IF these two ran off, they are almost certainly alive no longer.

LE quit searching and when they went back that would be more a recovery effort to just find bodies.

Posted on RCMP Facebook page about an hour ago: (my bolding)

As the missing persons investigation into the disappearance of Lilly and Jack Sullivan continues, the RCMP is appealing to the public for additional video footage.

Investigators have collected hours of video from the areas surrounding Lansdowne Station.

“Based on the details we’ve gathered so far, we’ve confirmed that Lilly and Jack were observed in public with family members on the afternoon of May 1,” says Cpl. Sandy Matharu, Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit. “We’re now asking anyone who has dashcam footage or video along Gairloch Rd. between 12 p.m. on April 28 and 12 p.m. on May 2 to contact us.”

Investigators remain committed to exploring all possibilities surrounding the children’s disappearance. To date, more than 355 tips have been received and are being followed up on. RCMP officers have also formally interviewed over 50 people, with more interviews planned in the coming days.

Investigative work is ongoing following a large-scale ground and air search that began immediately after the children were reported missing on May 2. Hundreds of searchers, multiple dogs, a variety of drones, an underwater recovery team and several aircraft scoured a heavily wooded 5.5 square kilometre area before search efforts were scaled back on May 7. Additional searches took place on May 8, May 9, May 17 and May 18. Any future searches will be determined based on the course of the investigation.

“RCMP officers from various teams are fully engaged in finding out what happened to Lilly and Jack, and we’re using all tools and resources to determine the circumstances of their disappearance,” says Cpl. Matharu. “We understand people’s desire for answers and updates. However, as this is an active investigation, we’re unable to discuss details of our ongoing work.”

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lilly and Jack, or who has video footage to share with police, is asked to call the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-896-5060. To remain anonymous, contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips app.

I’m glad they were seen the day before they went missing, but it doesn’t make me feel any better about them being alive at this point. 🙁

Today is May 28th and they are just now asking for video from people? We see this way too often in many cases, I think it should be one of the first things done.

So seen the day before. With family. What family, where and doing what?

It looks to be several days actually.
They want to check if the parents are lying about anything, is my guess. According to them they disappeared early on the 2nd, before they were up themselves, so they should, in theory, be on video footage if neighbours have it.
hmmmmm

a resident who lives near their rural home says she has turned over trail camera footage at the request of police spanning five days before they were reported missing.
Interesting. Her property ìs east 8 km (5 miles) by road from the victims' property, but only 5km (3 miles) by railway track.
