TN LAVERGNE JANE DOE: BF, 25-49, found in remote area near LaVergne, TN - 14 Nov 2007 *Identified*

On November 14, 2007 a police officer discovered partial skeletal human remains in a remote wooded area off Hollandale Road in LaVergne, Tennessee. Investigators found no clothing at the scene, but there was jewelry with the remains: two bracelets, an Avon “Loveable Pets Stretch Bracelet” with pictures of cats, another with ceramic beads; and a gold-plated ring with light blue and amber-colored stones. A forensic scientist determined the remains were of a Black or Black/White female, 5’5” to 5’6” tall, between 25 and 49 years of age with short brown hair. The deceased’s teeth showed dental work. Officials estimate the woman died in the spring or summer of 2007.

An Avon "Loveable Pets Stretch Bracelet" with pictures of cats on it (made in 2003), a bracelet with ceramic beads and a dark cord, and a gold-plated ring with light blue and amber-colored stones were found with the remains.

On November 14, 2007, the unidentified skeletal remains of a Black female were discovered in a remote wooded area in LaVergne, Tennessee. It is estimated the victim had been deceased since the spring or summer of 2007. No clothing was located in the area of these unidentified human remains; however, jewelry was found. The victim had some dental work completed on her teeth. LA VERGNE, TN (WSMV) - Thursday marks 12 years since La Vergne Police Sgt. Bob Hayes found the bones of a woman in the woods.

Thursday marks 12 years since La Vergne Police Sgt. Bob Hayes found the bones of a woman in the woods.

Originally, he was out looking for a car belonging to another missing woman.

"It's a shock. It's something that stays with you," Hayes said.

He continues to stay on the case.

Police don't know who the woman is, but said someone killed her.

"We want to get her identified so we can help bring closure to this family," Hayes said.

Investigators have gone through more than 100 tips over the years, but nothing has panned out. That's why they're reaching out to the community.
